  1. wow...sounds like you have a very resourceful kid! congrats. very cool story though
  2. could be the former director tried to throw him under the bus?
  3. or.....it's not about him and more about the former director of his foundation and he has become collateral damage... we shall see
  4. I'd pick Liverpool, because I'm from Liverpool(NY ), as good a reason as any, well that and the Beatles
  5. Yikes....i see why you were so upset....never call it 'the river' it's 'the Rivah'.... seriously though, I would have been very upset if one of mine posted similar
  6. surprised this took so long http://www.syracuse.com/us-news/index.ssf/2015/07/mom_of_man_killed_shooting_fireworks_off_head_calls_for_controls_on_explosives.html#incart_m-rpt-1
  7. it could end up on his permanent record
  8. what sets you apart from the other 'parent of the year' candidates we like to mock here is that you own up to your mistakes and hopefully go over and above to apologize. I tell my kids all the time, parents aren't perfect and we are learning as we go, just like them, but that we have more years of experience to draw upon. my son posted some videos of him doing skateboard tricks, he nails the trick and then directly into the camera yells "f*** yeah" and throws down his already split board. I texted him and told him I don't want to see that kind of language on fb and that if he continues to show him slamming down his board, I won't be supporting his habit any longer, even though it may have already been broken. He immediately took down the video. My rule for social media is to not put anything online that would offend their grandparents...it takes constant reminding but they obey.
  9. Saw this last night, definitely a no, fix the teeth then it changes to HELL YES!
  10. Saw a story on the local Philly station. One of the accusers was accompanied by Gloria Alred. For one moment Bill Cosby wasn't the most dispicable person in that story.
  11. I am really not a soccer fan, but when the big events come around I do enjoy watching them, i should give the EPL a shot, but not having any rooting interest in a team makes it hard to really follow along. Early on I didn't have anyone in NASCAR to root for, so it was simply cars going around in ovals, then Denny Hamlin came along from the town I was living in and suddenly I had someone to root for, so it became a lot more enjoyable.
  12. oh common man...i thought us pedestrians had some time to stop pretending we like soccer
  13. i am listening on ustream, taperrob, i was gonna listen on sirius but they are on a one hour delay for their broadcast...so far the first set was absolutely awesome, expecting a lot from the second set
  14. ya know what...hadn't looked at it that way....good call
  15. only real complaint was they tried to clamp down on tailgating on your own...sure they opened up the field but you couldn't grill, bring a cooler etc and the only shakedown street was those they sanctioned. We wound up going where others were gathering and just sat on a park bench with our cooler, people watching, strolling vendors tried to be discrete. finally they opened the big south lot at 3 then the real shakedown street started popping up and all was good with the world. minor hiccup, but not one that we couldn't overcome. Cop took one beer from me but didn't bust my balls, just took it and went away, so i opened another one.
  16. it was a whirlwind trip, driving philly to chicago to philly in about 48 hours. Getting too old to be doing that kind of stuff, but I am really glad we did it. I was late to the dead game, but once I finally let my guard down, I got sucked in and am very glad I did, it's a pretty special phenomenon that not everyone gets, but once you get it you get it.
  17. We wound up getting tix last Sunday on vivid, as secure a ticketing site as stubhub, ie tickets are guaranteed. Paid less than $150. Worth every penny. The Friday crowd was 20's to 70's and exactly what you'd expect. A very friendly and communal atmosphere. The city was very gracious, the venue outstanding. So glad we went, it's a memory that will stay with me forever. They are doing these shows right, they are just being the dead, not some nostalgic tribute. No special guest walk ons, no photo montages, simply up there playing the songs as a cohesive unit. No one is trying to put their own stamp on their performance, they are all doing it Dead-style.
  18. It was spectacular, and you are right, Trey really shined through. Listening to the replay now on the drive home enjoying it all over again
  19. I'm going to Fridays show, spending the night in toledo tonight then heading to soldier field by 11-12, should be a fun time
  20. they say rumors aren't true until they are officially denied....looks like his agent vehemently denied it twice....
  21. I hope so. I am a big fan of his, and I know a lot of his downfall is of his own doing....allegedly, but I want to see him reach the milestones that he could/should have had by now.
