  1. in and of itself, who cares, but wikipedia has a funny update
  2. mine was Andy Gibb, but it was because of a girl(still the love of my life 40 years later that never materialized)
  3. Archer & Bob's Burgers are the best on right now
  4. They are spanking golden state
  5. i think this team is built for a tournament, they can put together a brutal 5 game stretch based soley on defense. but they need to get in first and get their heads out of their asses. not sure they get in without a deep run into the acc tourney
  6. Great, now he'll end up in New England and torch us at least 2-3 times every year! Thanks a lot, Bin Laden!
  7. i probably told it before, but i worked a bar in syracuse and Greg Allman was playing there the next night(his I'm no Angel album tour). We are closed 2-2:30AM when there's a knock on the door, it's him and his crew coming to check out the venue, we wind up sitting at the bar with him listening to him talk for a few hours. I wasn't a fan at the time, but what an experience. next night the show is preparing, i'm at the front door and these long hairs walk up...i look at them crooked and sheepishly say "you guys are kansas", i motion for them to follow me. I take them to our Lighting area which also doubled as a "VIP" area. I tell them to let me know anything they need and I will be at their beck and call. Night ends they are thanking me up and down, i tell them to not thank me as I don't have tickets to their show the next night at a different venue. they tell me they will put me +3 on the list, sure enough show up there's my name, walk into a crowded lobby, from across the room the road manager yells my name and gives me a thumbs up....probably the greatest rock and roll couple of days I have EVER had
  8. i only read a headline earlier this week so i don't know if it was a satire site, but did Rob Zombie get harrassed or arrested outside the Oscars last week? I am gonna see if I can find the story...something about being mistaken for a homeless guy ****update...satire site. funny as hell though http://www.shipldl.com/famous-musician-rob-zombie-arrested-88th-oscar-academy-awards/ to your point i have heard NOTHING but good things about the type of person Rob Zombie is, he was in Philly doing the Broad Street Bullies movie and every story talked about him in glowing terms.
  9. whoa, you must not be cool and hip. haven't you read? it's brilliant.
  10. actually shearwater is kind of intended to be kinda 'meh' in a weird sort of way. Okkervil River is a more alt-rock band, Shearwater was borne out of Okkervil to show more the nature/ambient sounds. I like them but am a bigger fan of the Okkervil River stuff. and for the record, we don't have to agree on what each other likes, just don't stop looking for new music, it's out there, you'll certainly find something you like. Once you start looking, then yeah, music is dead, to you.
  11. my goal in life is to pass along great music and great beer, and take note, these are all new bands, so for the 'rock is dead' or 'no good music today' crowd, all you have to do is search. You'll never hear Lettuce or Snarky Puppy on the radio, but they are both huuuuuuuuge bands. Lake Street Dive you can hear on any quality singer/songwriter centric radio station.
  12. Why does everyone think Hollywood gives a flying !@#$ about coming up with new ideas? They care about making money. We, the viewing public, are the ones under indictment. We go see star wars part 23, ghostbusters 9 multiple times but wait until someone let's us borrow a copy of birdman, whiplash or spotlight so we can be cool.
  13. Snarky Puppy, again, hopefully you've at least heard of them
  14. or Shearwater...side project of Okkervil River
  15. hopefully you've heard of them by now, if you haven't....you're welcome
  16. i knew mayer was talented as ****, but until i saw him play with the dead i didn't realize just how good and how cool he really could be. he added his own distinct touch to the music while still trying to keep true to the spirit of the dead. can't wait for the summer tour.
  17. yeah i wasn't disappointed in the youtube series.
  18. i heard them on the marron podcast, that was my first exposure to them. then i went and watched the youtube episodes. now i want to watch the full shows.

  20. pretty freaking cool, way more than TMZ deserves!
  21. great! Now he'll end up in a Patriots uniform and destroy us 2 or 3 times a year. Frigging awesome!
  22. Isn't it kind of a veiled benefit for men?
