  1. I admire Kent Hull as much as any other fan but really, why eliminate a captain? Why play the same foolish games that Ryan is playing by making a clown like Maybin a captain?
  2. Fred should get lots of touches and that makes Spiller's chances to run from scrimmage less. I too am looking for the day that Spiller becomes a play maker. Maybe this week as a receiver that Revis or Cromartie are not covering. Chan has to find a way to utilize this guy. Huh?? What is EA? Who is Kelso's kid? What is little loop? Are you comparing Spiller to a 9 year old?
  3. I agree with you, well said. -------------------------------------------------------------------- Separate subject, your avatar is really bad. Sorry, had to say it.
  4. Wah-Wah Wah- Who saw the Colts falling apart when the schedule first came out? We also play Denver and Wash. Miami is a division game for both teams. This is the NFL -- just ask the Saints how their game against the Rams went. The Bills need to play their schedule and not worry about other teams. The key to the Bills making the playoffs will be winning our divisional games.
  5. By this time of year teams know what to expect. Chan might have a few twists but this game will be won or lost in the trenches. We need to win the turnover battle and play hardnose football against the Jets. 1. I think we can run on them if we are patient. 2. We need to get lots of pressure on Sanchez.
  6. Sporting News is a descendant of the magazine once called "The Sporting News" which, believe it or not, dates back to the late 1890's. Not that I was there back then but I did read TSN as a kd in the 60's and 70's.
  7. He played a great game against us and came from behind to lead his team to a win. He should get praise, he really is a good looking rookie QB. Pretty much all rookie QBs throw interceptions but he makes big plays when they need them.
  8. I always cringe when I hear this. Really this is the dumbest criticism of Fletcher ever. Flecther was the BEST player on a Super Bowl winning defense. He was an excellent Bill and he is still playing at a high level for the skins. Even if he made some tackles downfield, if he doesn't make the tackle who does? Running backs in the NFL love to match up on DBs in the open field. Fletcher never stops playing, that is why he makes plays down field ans all over the field. Ask Fitz about the hit in the backfield? If yesterdays did not show you he is still a beast then I guess nothing will.
  9. I listened to most of the 2nd half on the radio while in the Atlanta airport. How did we come up with 9 sacks? Did we blitz a lot?
  10. I seriously doubt that the Bills were going to spend the big money that Synder spent. Buffalo was part of the negotiation but never a serious thought for Shanny. No worries, we got the better coach in Gailey.
  11. Go Cards. We are proud of the Cardinals and their 'never say die' attitude this season. Losing the world series had never had the stigma of losing the Super Bowl. The Rangers still can claim the AL PENNANT.
  12. What does Ralph Wilson have to do with Maybin's playing wieght? Maybin was not run out of town. He was beat out on a team that boasts such star LB's as Moats, Batten, Carrington and Kelsey (sarcasm intended BTW). Maybin could not beat out any of these guys for playing time. He is fortunate to land a spot on the jets, where he was once cut, and can fill a role for them.
  13. We will be missing better players than them, and what team has a full roster of "first stringers"?
  14. Since this is all about who to blame I think that Wanny is just as much to blame as Edwards. Wanny is the senior man and the highest ranking defensive coach on the team. The real problem is the talent. Schemes do not win alone. The front 7 does not get to the QB. Merriman has been ineffctive, Kyle is hurt, Spencer and Dwan are on their last legs, Batten and Moats are not doing it, neither is Carrington. No one is getting to the QB. No one. Lets stop blamming the coaches and ask the players to do their jobs. Either that or get better players.
  15. James is on the Wall, which is tons of credit for someone who played just a few years. He gets more than enough appreciation just being on the Wall. Conerbacks Butch Byrd, Mario Clark and Nate Odomes had longer careers and mush less appreciation. Joe Devlin (OT/OG), Paul Costa (TE/OT)and Jim Dunaway (DT) are players that fit the underappreciated mold.
  16. One of my favorite Bills of all time. Great, great player. I was thinking of changing my Sestak avatar to Kent Hull just the other day. An excerpt from a Buffalo news article, shows his sense of humor and wit: By coincidence, Hull's plane arrived in Buffalo 45 minutes ahead of Kelly's. Kelly rode in a limousine from the airport to a downtown news conference. Hull rode right behind in an equipment van. "The way I like to describe it is, Jim rode in on a limo and I rode in on a load of pumpkins," Hull once said.
  17. He was a victim of the pass rush. First time I have seen him get rattled by pressure but lets face it the Giants were collapsing rhe pocket on every play. The pressure off the edges was intense and having a guard at LT did not help at all. Chan did the right thing and Fitz had one more chance after the Giants FG.
  18. By this time their pass rush had us totally intimadated. I was the reason for the false start, the reason for the blocked pass, the reason for the two interceptions, the reason we got knocked out of FG range, the reason we couyld not get the ball deep. Clearly the difference in the game was our inability to handle their pass rush. Screens, quick slant, draw plays would work but we were just not executing consistently in the face of the pressure.
  19. I really think the difference in the game was the pass rush they had and one we did not have. It was a factor on both interceptions and the blown drive at the end of the 2nd quarter. Another good post aided by whiskey and The Dead.
  20. Agree. He said he shook his hand too hard, almost as if to say Schwartz couldn't handle it. Harbaugh has always been an arrogant guy. Even as a QB when he was a bum for most of his career.
  21. Really, Pop Warner huh. I never knew that playing cornerback in the NFL was so easy. You mean following those super athletic WRs with world class sprinter speed is so easy that you can do it while not ever looking at them. Wow. Not to excuse Florence for a dreadful day but my bigger concern is the pass rush. There were plenty of plays that our Pop Warner corners must have had pretty good coverage and for a long time too because Manning had all day to throw. Compare the pressure that Fitz had on him and the pressure that Manning had and there is your ballgame.
  22. The front 7 had no pressure at all. Manning was flushed from the pocket twice and he tossed the ball away with no problems. Other than that nothing. Our DBs were forced to cover for long periods of time. All this love for Moats and Batten, I saw nothing special by either of them today. Compare to the Giants defense that had constand heat on Fitz all game. We really missed Williams, Merriman and Kelsey today. (Yes, that Kelsey).
  23. OK, Fitzy has come back down to earth but I think we can win with him. Of course, if you are drafting and a franchise QB is there you take him. Take the best player on the board always and every single time.
  24. We held a team to less than 30? (hey, I'm trying )
  25. Harbaugh is an azz. This will not be the only time this happens.
