Yeah because every week the coaches list their rankings. Smh

Yeah, because every week coaches read PFF and fan message boards to find out how good or bad their players are.

Admittedly have not seen the coaches post their top 5 / bottom 5 list anywhere

    <sigh>

    Of course they don't.

Show us your source for Saffold being on the bottom 5 rated player every week.  Or did you read it in PFF, or maybe in a fan forum?  If that is your source, then you don't really have one.

  2. Tom Sestak was the best player on the defense that led the Bills to two consecutive AFL championships.  I watched him as a very young kid and remember his dominance.

Injuries forced him to retire before the NFL merger.  He is on the first team all time AFL Team.

Because....he played 3 sports and didnt really focus on football, go to football camps or have good coaching.

...  and he lived in the middle of nowhere were there was much less visibility to him.

He worked on the family farm when others like Darnold and Rosen were going to the best football camps.

    He had accuracy issues.

Please don't underestimate the importance of completion percentage at all levels.

It matters.  It goes with you wherever you go.

A permanent football scar whose shame never washes off or changes.

His accuracy issues of the past stem from never being taught proper technique and always carrying the load on lesser teams with lesser talent around him.    Not from lack of talent or ability.

He was never working with top college coaching and got into bad habits.  He went nowhere out of High School as some of the best college recruiters in California (a bigtime football state) missed the boat on him.   He ended up in a Junior College, as a JC transfer that begged to get a shot at D1.

I guess he proves that accuracy can be taught and improved upon after all.

I read three scouting reports on Allen from actual NFL teams shortly after the 2018 draft and they all suggested he was a can’t miss pro QB prospect. I suspect that was also the opinion of the majority of teams as well.

Probably was much better liked by Pro Scouts that really know something than from the media types that blather away on the airwaves and in social media.

Mel Kiper was high on him though.

I know people would love to see the Patriots go 0-17 one of these years but that is not happening with Belichick...........the best possible scenario is that they remain a fringe playoff level team with an undersized and/or unathletic soft-tossing QB..........like Zappe or Mac.   QB purgatory keeps them out of the running for an elite QB.

Agree.  I want to see them go 20 years of 6-11 thru 9-8 and not get a quality QB.

Thinking back to the Bills QB drought, so much of it was bad the Front Office(s) making bad QB selections and also not making enough QB picks either.  It seems like we didn't draft enough QBs.  If you don't have one, then you need to focus on getting one instead of picking up journeymen QBs and hoping for a miracle just to make the playoffs.

The GM turnover of Donahoe, Levy, Brandon, Nix, Whaley was part of the problem too.  You cannot build a solid foundation when you replace the FO and coaching staff every 3-4 years - all you do is get into a restart loop.   I think Kraft knows better.  It will be interesting to see who he hires when Billy B finally steps down.

It makes sense on this Victory Monday to reflect on the amazing plays we saw our players make on the football field yesterday. Josh Allen's hurdle and golden-armed rocket throws, Von Miller closing, Taron Johnson sealing the win with a pick..,.

It makes sense on this Victory Monday to reflect on the awesome job that our GM Brandon Beane has done in building this roster...the late round gems, the trade acquisitions, the brilliant free agent signings...

One thing I want to make sure doesn't get lost in the good feelings of this Victory Monday, though, is the credit that Coach McDermott deserves for yesterday's win.

For making all the right "Go for it vs kick it" decisions. For being aggressive throughout the game and not falling back any conservative tendencies. For keeping his team composed after early adversity. For great clock management decisions at the end of the game. For having this team ready to beat a high quality opponent on the road.

    Hell of a game, coach!

I am a big McD fan.  He was agressive and out team responded to that.

i just winder how many fans on this board would be had we lost by less than one FG after leaving 3 points on the field and then missing the 4th down conversion at midfield.

    Winning cures all.

  7. After the Bills and Chiefs its wide open.   Anything can happen and the Bills still have a tough schedule ahead.  All of their division games will be tough, and many will be in bad weather.  The Bills are the class of the East, but no AFCE teams will roll over for us.  The Jets might actually be better than NE and Miami.  The once emerging Dolphins might end up on the bottom.

In the West San Diego is the next best after KC. The other two teams are meh.

Ravens, Titans, Bengals, Colts, Browns is a grab bag right now.

I honestly feel bad for the development for some of our guys.  I may catch a ton of flack for this, but if Benford and Elam continued to produce, I don't know that I wouldn't trade Tre in the offseason if the contract allowed it.

This is nothing against Tre, but we've been very solid against the pass with our DB's and our schedule only gets easier.  The money Tre gets could easily help towards resigning Oliver, Davis, and others.

Again, I like Tre a lot, but have we really missed him?  Elam got beat up a bit against the Steelers, but he's honestly our 3rd DB at this point behind Dane and Benford.  The deep shot to Waddle was on our safeties.

Flame away, I know it's coming

Tre has 5 years of experience playing high level All Pro football.   Benford and Elam have 8 games combined.  Seems very early to have a trade Tre White conversation.

ok...you asked...lol...here we go. I Iove this question. Let's get into it:

For the love of Football Gods i have explained this many times before on multiple sites and threads.

The current team franchise is not named after Buffalo Bill Cody. It is named after the previous franchise from Buffalo that played in the defunct All American Football Conference. (AAFC)

Newspaper articles clearly stated Wilson had a name the team contest but instead decided on his own to adopt the nickname of the old AAFC franchise. "Bills"

Logo of the original Buffalo Bills of the All American Football Conference (predates the AFL Buffalo Bills) is below.

You are wrong.  They were the Buffalo Bison in 1946 and then switched to Bills and remained Bills up thru 1949.  The AAFC dissolved with some teams joining the NFL, but not Buffalo.  The AFL Bills were started by Wilson and their first season was 1960. The original AFL logo and Marketing also featured Bill Cody.  The logo and poster below is from the AAFC Bills.  Proof of the name Bills and the Cody logo from AAFC.  Which carried on to early AFL days.

And below, 1962 AFL Bills Program and Cody again included.  I think he disappeared by the mid 1960’s.

moved to Buffalo for the weather… says no one ever

I actually do know a few that did move back to Buffalo for weather.  They simply hate heat and hot weather

Buffalo summers are amazingly nice and comfortable.
