  1. One can be right on certain topics as well as wrong on the results. Case in point the Bills were weak in the trenches last year and they still won lots of games. However, come playoff time vs excellent teams those weaknesses came to light. So its fair to say the Bills in the trenches were weak and aided in not achieving their goal. Despite one playoff win and a great regular season. It's fair to say McD did a poor job in preparation, schemes, and adjustments in last years playoffs. It doesn't have to be either or as you are putting it. It's not either McD solely or the players solely. Surely, you can't be that naive. Buffalo beat Miami but there still might be a "changing of the guard." You see it doesn't have to be one or the other. Surely, you can't be that naive. It obvious I'm critical of the coach and the roster. It's not popular here. I'm not the only one here. I'm not on some crusade to blast negativity. What I said had/has merit. The end results are unknown until they happen. To point out my wrongs after the fact are more than fair. However, you can go back and find wrongs on everyone. Let me give you a fine example. For the longest, I've been advocating for the Bills to move on from McD. While doing so, I've received so much negative feedback and opposing views. I welcomed it all. However, my stance was pretty much on an island with the exception of a few. Fast forward to about a month ago while I was in time out. So many on here were echoing similar stances to mine. It was confirmation that maybe my thinking wasn't off. Much different than being right or wrong. One can be wrong and stand behind what they said based on many supportive variables without being inconsistent. The two aren't mutually exclusive. Think of the draft process as a great example. Again another failed attempt to personally attack me with the other fan nonsense. All I can do is laugh.
  2. What a long post of nothing. I stand by everything I said. I'm the first one to admit I was wrong when I'm wrong. Talk about having it both ways. Your post is one big hedge. No one on this planet knows if McD will or will not get it done! It clearly opinionated. It goes without saying my opinion is not evidence . Not once have I implied that. The reason why you go there is obvious. You and lots and lots of others don't agree with my viewpoint. It's safe to say I rub many the wrong way. I sincerely apologize for that. Diversity is fantastic. "Strengths lies in differences, not in similarities."
  3. That's ridiculous. I'm critical of the Bills and overly critical to a flaw at times. But my intentions are always for the better of the Bills. I badly want to see a parade in Buffalo and the Bills hoisting the Lombardi. Make no mistake about that. You can question my thinking and rational because that's fair game. I admit I'm wrong often. But to imply or question my loyalty to the Bills is flat out wrong.
  4. I like the input on this thread. Very solid and stimulating as a Bills fan. Your post certainly adds quality to the discussion. I'd like to push back a little here. I think McD should remain the DC. He's a really good defensive coach. Not sure his replacement would be more effective and nothing more than a puppet or scapegoat for McD. I think he capable of doing both. I'd argue in the minority the opposite which will never happen. I'd like for McD to step down and be the DC only. Enter a new offensive minded head coach. Win win here. Change always comes with risks but it comes with rewards as well. Look at the Josh Allen pick as an example. Huge risk with huge rewards. It's not change for change sake with the Bills. It's a change to push the team to the SB. Something that McD has woefully failed to do the last two seasons. I think the risks are minimal here and easily overcome with the right choice as head coach.
  5. Very thought out post. Just wondering how disruptive letting McD go would be? My initial thought is not that much. Why? We've seen teams do this with immediate success. The Eagles, Texans, and the Broncos jump off the page as examples. What do these teams have in common with the Bills? QBs that are more than able to win. Point being Allen can almost lead the new coach to wins. The coach just has to close out games. Of course, this is a bit simplistic but the theory applies. Running it back with McD again just seems like an old recipe that's safe but always ends up short. Who is out there to jump start the team? Inviscerate new blood, new concepts, a swagger, innovation, etc...im sure that person is out there. Peyton was that guy but the cost was too much. Harbaugh and Ben Johnson seem like solid choices. Others care to comment? In the end, the point is mute because McD isn't going anywhere. He's solid and we just have to hope he can get over the hump. I get how fans want to rally behind McD. I may as well jump on the bandwagon and enjoy the McD train ride. I'll be riding coach though.
  6. That's a fair position and post. As for myself, I've seen enough to think McD can't get it done come playoff time. Obviously, you disagree.
  7. Sure it can as long as their defense can get and stay healthy. Flacco doesn't have to be elite or carry the team. A few big plays and taking care of the ball is likely his role in the playoffs. He might be better than Watson right now. Flacco can play really bad or great. Low floor and high ceiling. Q
  8. I agree 100%. I think we are in the minority here.
  9. There are a few other factors that one should consider along with their won vs loss playoff record. How many of those coaches have gone to a SB and or won a Lombardi? How many have/had such a good QB like Allen to work with. If they had a QB comparable to Allen what were their results? Did they make a SB appearance or win it all? What is the window between coach and franchise QB to win or go to the super bowl? Consensus says it's five to six years. Do the math here. How many of those coaches just gave playoff games away in 13 seconds? How many just were flat out unprepared and outcoached in their playoff games? Surely an honest assessment shows McD is a poor playoff coach. He has under performed. You can try to slant the truth and minimize the facts and numbers. The bar has changed for at least two years perhaps three. The playoffs and a playoff win just isn't good enough. Perhaps, that's good enough for many Bills fans who have endured droughts and missed playoffs. I get that and I clearly remember those dark days. I believe the decades of losing has mitigated the flaws of coach McD. In other words, what he's done is better than before. Let's appreciate the accomplishments. That's true in a vacuum or a bubble. I'd argue the Bills haven't advanced further in the playoffs because of McD and the staff he entrusted. Just look at the collapses in the playoffs. It's not just an anomaly. It's more the norm. I think it's more than fair to question his ability to perform under playoff pressure and led the team to a SB. Besides optimism there's little evidence to support a theory that he can get it done. Doesn't mean he won't but thus far evidence has shown his clapping has fallen short. I'm not here to say McD is a poor coach because that's just not true. His regular season accomplishments and consecutive playoffs appearances are impressive. What equally unimpressive are his playoff losses going back year after year after year. Fast forward to this year and the Bills are in a dogfight. None of us imagined the Bills would be in such a predicament. The playoffs are certainly in question. At this point, the bar seems to have lowered. Perhaps many will be satisfied with a playoff appearance and a subsequent playoff game. Anything after that is gravy. I think I'm even beginning to have that mindset. Funny how the human brain works. Another year of coach McD... No it's not just 13 seconds. He's screwed the policy a plenty during his playoff tenure. He's been badly out coached on several occasions.
  10. Marty Schottenhemer says hi. Don't be afraid of change. "Fear keeps us focused on the past or worried about the future." You totally dismiss the Cinci game?
  11. Really? You think a 4-5 playoff record is pretty good? That's a 44% win percentage. I'd call that below average. His playoff record, performance, and outcomes are critical reasons why some think it's time to move on from McD.
  12. Just wondering have you looked up his playoff record?
  13. Oh wow. That's much better than I thought. Thanks for the update.
  14. There is no sure win in the NFL. NE can beat the Bills even though they stink.
  15. I'm aware of this thanks Gunner. Just seems like some here are already counting the next three games as wins. Certainly, the Bills should win the next two. The last game vs Miami is a whole different animal.
  16. I like their chances as well but I'm biased as a Bills fan That's really not what I'm debating though. Right now as things stand, the Bills do have an uphill battle to make the playoffs. I think the Bills are at around 40% to make the playoffs. Facts from previous seasons. Are you ok? Irrational ranters and making up facts? Are you ok? Your post is ridiculous and in bad faith.
  17. Disagree. The Bills do have an uphill climb. None of the games are gimmies. This season should tell you that. LA just fired their coach. Who knows if that gives them a spark. Obviously, the Bills should win. "F" they better win. NE and BB would love nothing more than to pee in the Bills Wheaties. Division games are usually tough. The Bills should win. Miami at Miami. Surely, you can think this is an easy game. Come on now. The Bills best chance to make the playoffs is to win out. Even if they do they still need Miami to lose a game before they lose to the Bills. Division winners- Buffalo. The WC spots are seemingly more difficult. They will need help and lose way too many tie breakers. Saying the Bills have an upward climb is 100% accurate. Not sure how you can't see that.
  18. I'm not the one who initiated the what ifs. I'm responding to the what if because you are exactly correct.
  19. I get what you are saying. It definitely has validity. However, I think fans have different levels of interests and knowledge of the game. For example, my wife sometimes watches football with me. She clearly is not interested in a breakdown of film. She actually likes some of the media people because of their style and personality. I suspect there are millions of these types of fans. Point being these media types you describe have been around for decades doing what they do. Often it's not enough X's and O's. Often it's not something many knowledge fans don't already know. Obviously, the likes of Peter King and others are doing something correct. Or at the very least the have good enough ratings and an audience that generated revenue. Look at Jim Rome or Stephen A as a great example. Your thinking isn't incorrect and I know you are speaking for yourself. However, there's an absolute audience for likes of whom you mentioned. The beauty is we can pick and choose who we watch and ir listen to.
  20. Don't disagree. Two of my favorites are Greg Cosel and Joe Marino. Dan O is pretty good but I don't like his style.
  21. Is it possible other fans not being Bills fans might have been educated a little? Is it possible a more casual fan might have enjoyed what he had to say? Also, there are so many media outlets in today's modern era. There's only so much football experts, reporters, or analysts can say without it being repetitive.
  22. What's I find ironic here is all the negative comments towards King. He gave Buffalo a lot of praise on how good they are. I believe he said they are a top team that no one wants to play if they make playoffs. I guess that part isn't heard because he's on the Bills fans poop list. The missed PI call vs the Giants. The missed hail mary by the Bucs.
  23. It cuts both ways though. They could have lost to the Giants and the Bucs. Let's be consistent with our analysis.
  24. Agree. The way I see it is if the Bills lose to LA or NE they don't deserve to be in the playoffs. That game in Miami will likely be a good one. Both teams know each other well. I didn't think it did that at all. No need to go there. What did he say in the video that was inaccurate or biased?
  25. Some really good input here by Peter King on his podcast. A few things that hit home sort of speak. (1)The Bills still have a difficult challenge ahead of them. The playoffs are in question. Feels weird or not right after the Bills two recent wins. (2) Peter King at the very end almost scolds the Bills and warns the fans. More specifically, he talked about how the Bills squandered wins. (3) Both of them unequivocally talked about how good the Bills are. Admitted they are a top team and how others don't want to face them in the playoffs. In conclusion, listening to this has stirred several emotions both positive and negative.
