  1. He is young and it's still a bit early to call him a bust. I don't think he's a franchise QB and he certainly shouldn't have been drafted that early. I think he can be a serviceable QB to a slightly above average QB.
  2. I agree. Seattle is pretty good against the run. They stopped Zeke and the 49ers last week. They rank 9th in the NFL vs the run. I'm pretty hesitant to think our run game will be effective and efficient. The way to beat the Seattle is through the air. Allen and the offense will have to play like the first four games of the season. The offense has regressed for many reasons. Thus far, we haven't been able to beat top teams like KC and Tenn. This game is a tall order. We will find out how good this team really is. I suspect we aren't on the same level as Seattle.
  3. I think you are assuming a third string RB can't run well against the Bills. Just look at what the Jets and the Pats did with their 2nd and 3rd stringers. I'm pretty confident RB Dallas can gash the Bills defense. (That's assuming Hyde and Carson are out.) I will continue to make the case until I see this Bills team stop the run.
  4. Explain what you mean by playing better? In fact, we have been playing worse if you factor in the first four games. We didn't score a TD against the Jets. We can't stop the run game if our life depends on it. Our offense has regressed and feels nothing like the first 4 games. I'm all for optimism but let's be realistic too. I get we are all fans and want to see the bright side of things. Imho, Seattle beats us 27 - 13.
  5. Lol. Tell me when the Bills have stopped or eliminated any ones run game. Last year doesn't count. By your owns words Dallas didn't run well vs the 49ers. So your theory is poop. Russel cooked with DK and Moore. With respect, I disagree with your analysis and game plan.
  6. My opinion is a little different. Obviously, with Carson and Hyde they are much better. I think the Seahawks will hurt us on the ground no matter who is at RB. Dallas didn't look awful vs the 49ers. We haven't been able to stop the run. Harris was even productive yesterday. Also, who do we have to cover both Locket and Metcalf? One of surely should be productive. We are vulnerable vs Big WR and slot WR. Puck your poison . Not to mention Wilson's ability to run and make big plays. The only way win is by exploiting their weak secondary. Allen will have to be awesome.
  7. Born and raised in Buffalo. I am a die hard Bills fan. I don't live in Buffalo anymore. It's a great sports town. I miss having great buffalo sports conversations.
  8. I play in a football pool where you pick 4 games vs the spread. I immediately jumped on Seahawks -2.5. They should be favored by 6.
  9. I agree. I've watched a lot of Seahawk games. I don't see our defense stopping them. The can pound the rock with whomever and still beat our run defense. Then you can't stop either Metcalf or Locket. One or both will have a huge game. Slot receivers give us fits so the edge goes to Locket. Then there is Russ. Their pass defense is beatable but they are pretty good against the run. Allen will have to be phenomenal for us to win.
  10. I hear you. As a fan, I welcome the win as well as the constructive criticism. I can never understand why fans have such a difficult time accepting both. The win feels great and the criticism doesn't take away its sweetness. Imho, the criticism is warranted and welcomed. The end result we want is a super bowl ring. It's not a squeaked out win that continues to illustrate our vulnerabilities. We are 6-2 with much work ahead, glaring defensive holes, and a sputtering inconsistent offense. We won despite it which says a lot about the character of the team. Why isn't ok to criticize and compliment?
  11. I think this is a Jets upset. Bills are not playing well, have a ton of injuries, and are facing the Jets a second time on the road. Ugly and sloppy game. Jets 20 and Bflo 19.
  12. Oliver is still young. It's too early to give up on him. Doesn't mean he hasn't sucked! He has been a great disappearing act thus far.. Maybe ***** Norman is the best we have under the circumstances? What do you suggest coach Karlos?
  13. You are grasping at straws. Oliver has basically sucked since he's taken the field as a Bill. You need to get way more production out of a top ten pick. Norman was playing due to injuries and lack of depth. Maybe they are assessing what he has in the tank. Frankly, I'll trust Fraizer and McDermott's judgement over yours. The proof is in the success that they have had with our defense.
  14. I don't buy this notion. Frazier and McDermott know how to use the strengths of their players. Simply put, Oliver stinks right now. He has had little to no impact since being drafted. Maybe there is a reason why he dropped to us.
  15. I wasn't directing the arrogance statement towards you. I apologize for that. I should have left that out of my response to you. It was more directed towards others.
  16. I get we are a much better team than the jets. Yet, I am taking nothing for granted. Currently, we are playing poorly on both sides of the ball, playing a divisional opponent, and albeit on the road. This is by no means a "free square." Upsets happen every week and the best team doesn't always win. Don't get me wrong, I'm expecting a W but this over confidence and arrogant talk isn't appealing to this fan.
  17. I think when he plays we'll it's warranted to give him the praise. Vice versa. The first 4 games he was the best two QBs in the league. The last two games he's at the bottom end of QB performances. I think quality of opponent has a lot to do with it. A QB will always be in the spotlight good or bad. Allen is young and talented. With that, comes the good and the bad. Not really sure how he ends up in the history books. With that said, I'm excited his talent, growth, leadership, attitude, etc. I haven't been able to realistically say that about a Bills QB in many many years.
  18. Oliver and Edmunds seem to be trending as busts. Still too early but both haven't lived up to expectations. We really needed them to step up. Oliver barely gets his name called in a game. Edmunds is constantly out of position or missing tackles. I'm no expert but I really don't think it's the coaches or the scheme. They have been successful with it for a few years now. The common denominator is the players. The offense is going to have to win us games.
  19. Fair post. I disagree with our goal is to win the division and anything else is icing on the cake. Prior to the start of the season I expected the Bills to win the division. On paper, we have the best team. Last year we made a nice playoff run and just fell short. Making the playoffs and losing the first game is not progress to me. Making a deep playoff run should be our expectation. One and done isn't progress.
  20. For sure Bill. I'm not sure you can even put him in the top 10 category. He flashes signs of greatness while reverting back to poor footwork and inaccurate passes. His potential and ceiling is quite high but in the end accuracy almost always reigns supreme. The first 4 games he was playing perhaps beyond sustainability. The last two games he's been quite awful. I suspect the truth lies somewhere in the middle.
  21. Very true. Honestly, we had no business winning that game. It would have been highway robbery if we won. I just wanted a chance to see if we could have won. The ability for our defense not to stop them in the end was heartbreaking.
  22. Solid post. I disagree with your assessment of Allen in these last two games. He looked every bit of a young rookie QB. Tonight, the first play of the game was clear evidence of this. Pass after pass was inaccurate with poor footwork. The numbers don't lie either. They were horrendous. Without looking it up he was like 6-15 with 25 yards passing. The end result was 14-27 122 2 tds 1 int..To boot he throws an int finishing the game. My eyeball test saw a carbon copy of the raw QB we drafted. I don't know how anyone can't be worried about Allen. Hate to be a Debbie downer. I just think it's best for this forum to hear all opinions. What I dislike is people often get upset if you say something bad about the team. I'm a diehard fan and very much support the team.
  23. The two games show me we are not an elite team. Also, a bad Texans team had the Titans beat. The sky isn't falling but there is lots of smoke in the air. The last two games clearly show we are not elite. Don't know how anyone can dispute that. Allen has clearly regressed. Just ask yourself if you have thought OMG he looks like he did in his rookie year. Mostly it's an accuracy issue with poor footwork. Yes, it doesn't help that we can't run nor protect him. The defense is just not good. Even when we were winning it wasn't good. We can't cover tight ends, can't stop the run, and we aren't very good on 3rd downs. Lots of season to see if we can turn things around. I'm most concerned with Allen.
