  1. I could be mistaken, but I do believe the Raiders wanted to run on us. Now it could be they can't run on anyone right now, and that's a big problem for them because their offense is built to work around the run game. Against Denver, 29 rush attempts to 20 pass attempts. Against us, even split between run and pass. Against the Stillers, they could taste that come from behind victory so they started to pass more at the end. But the "want to run on" was there.
  2. Right it was like....how can we catch them by surprise? I know, we'll use the receiver they'd least expect to see used on that play...the guy with the least quickness. I mean why not just use Kincaid or Knox?
  3. Nah, not every catch he ever had, but basically, Harty had One Good Year. I thought he legit looked good in that One Good Year, but I had big-ass concerns about that Best Ability, Availability. The Bills training staff said to be very good, wonder if they are keeping him on the field through some injury and that's why he doesn't look as fast.
  4. It's the second hit searching Youtube for Deonte Harty. 2021 highlights. 20 min 22 sec. He legit had a good 2021. But there was always the question was that a fluke, and would he hold up.
  5. What would those personal reasons be? I think you may be confusing Raiders coach Josh McDaniels, who once coached for Denver and got fired for good reason, with Mike McDaniel , who got his first break when he was hired as a Denver Broncos intern back in 2005 under Shanahan, got to see how a Conference contending 13-3 team operates, and successfully parlayed that into offensive assistant jobs ending in being a young head coach. Denver gave him his start, no reason for ill feelings. Now Fangio, the DC....he may have had some receipts. It's a McDermott trademark, I'm afraid, to give up a couple big plays per game on D. Question is can we avoid putting ourselves in a hole, can we answer, and can we balance it out with a few big plays of our own. Agree on the latter. I think he's unintelligible in pressers, but he seems to communicate just fine with his players so who cares.
  6. Speaking of the Pats, who just played the Jetsies....they legit have the personnel to have a top defense. Had one last season. Pats converted almost half their 3rd downs, and Jones only had 5 QB hits and 0 sacks. What's up with that? They just demoralized by the lack of offense?
  7. Oh, true, There are the pass plays which get blown up, or where Josh evades, or where he gets hit. I didn't say almost every play - I said almost every pass play. I give Spencer Brown his propers - he's a mauler in run blocking.
  8. I don't think we should have All-pro caliber guys at every position. But needing to have a TE chip or assign an RB to help almost every pass play, does limit our offense. #facts
  9. Thats...contradictory, isn't it? I'll put it out there...I'm pretty sure @Simon has forgotten more ball than I know, and it's not his habit to participate in the annual whipping boy contest. If he sees Spencer Brown as still a problem and still receiving help in pass pro to the extent that it limits our offense, that's probably what's going down.
  10. Already offered to munch crow over Bernard. Pining for the opportunity to keep munching all season long. Harty is currently #17 in the league for punt yards/return. So we're getting some use out of him as a punt returner. Which puts him one slot behind former Bill Ray ray McCloud ($2M/yr cap hit) and nine slots behind former Bill Isaiah McKenzie ($1.232M cap hit) 😈 'Course, having reliable abilities to track the ball and bring it in when the winds grow tough will be part of the picture.
  11. Don't forget the fumble
  12. I mean, the man had a good game against the Commanders. Can't he get props for that?
  13. All I have to say is, Time will Tell Good test coming this week
  14. What Took Them So Long My guess would be the decent well known respected sports agencies aren't urging their client's case in the media
  15. I'd like to see him put on some muscle, but it took several years for Milano to build up. He looked slow and tentative last season, but now it appears that was just learning our defense and learning the NFL game. The other thing - I was noticing watching some other teams, that a guy who is tackling, is tackling alone. The Bills "flow to the ball" so much, that it usually doesn't matter if Bernard is too light to bring a guy down, he's just slowing him up until Ed Oliver or Milano or Poyer land on him. I still have concerns but so far, Looking Good. I think Christian Kirksey pressing the "eject" button says as much about how players and coaches view him, as anything.
  16. When being a Grammar Nazi isn't enough for a guy.... I think when you start a thread on a football forum about the spelling of a commentator's last name, you look like that thing you mention Could be just me
  17. Well now it must be like we hear in the mic'd up sessions "Good ***** man good *****!"
  18. Educate me. What did Kyle Brandt say about Trevor Lawrence? I think you can make a good argument for SF as the best team right now, though it’s early days. We just finished Week 3 of 18 so we really haven’t had a month yet. Dolphins didn’t exactly “boat race” the Chargers since they won by 2 points.
  19. I can't see what Jones did to Sauce from that. But I can readily believe Mac Jones is a douche and I hope he gets his own nuts ripped off.
  20. Can't disagree with your real point. I'm a bit unsure if that's on Josh, on Dorsey, or on a hellish amalgam of the two.
  21. Lawson is playing like a hungry man who wants dinner. He only got 37% of the snaps last week vs 60% the week before (presumably to help stuff the Raiders run), but he did well with them with 2 QB hits in 20 snaps.
  22. I'm having a little trouble understanding this chart - I get it's normalizing the data, but find it hard to map onto straight info. Last season the Bills played 1048 offensive snaps. 747 were from shotgun (71%). 301 were under center (29%) Josh actually had more YPA and better completion % under center (7.9 vs 7.4; 65% vs 62%). but I had thought that was because overwhelmingly, the Bills run from under center (2/3 of under center snaps, they run) https://www.pro-football-reference.com/teams/buf/2022_splits.htm scroll down
  23. You can find splits on pro-football-reference For example https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/A/AlleJo02/splits/2022/ scroll down
  24. I see your point, but Diggs is subject to different types of interference - he is often held, he can get out-muscled, he will be interfered with to save a TD at the cost of some yards. Knox had 9 TD to Diggs 10 TD in 2020 because in theory, he should be able to out-muscle and out-jump more DBs. Of course I agree with you that Diggs is the superior receiver, but with the tighter space in the RZ, in theory bigger should be better. I'd really like to see Kincaid get use in this role because he's smooooth.
  25. If the MLB is the "QB of the defense", i had the crazy thought that last season, McDermott and Frazier gave Bernard a Mahomes "watch and learn" rookie year. It was certainly true of Edmunds and Milano in 2021 vs 2022. People said "Oh, Milano and Edmunds are playing so much better against the run this year". Well, yeah, but a lot of that was that the DL was better, and was doing a better job of keeping the LB clean.
