  1. On the flip side we were winning in the offensive trenches quite handedly and had already piled up quite a bit of rushing yards. Bills are pretty tough to stop when they can run the football and get good pass protection i would expect the bills to come up with a key sack or two with the bengals playing an absolutely horrible RT. I have no idea who was gonna win this one. Maybe if the bills got first possession and went down 14-3 I’d be closer to seeing where you were coming from but neither of those things happened Even if we go down 14-3 there’s a pretty good shot we would’ve come up with the td to make it 14-10
  2. To be fair I don’t think that’s the ‘only’ thing they’re thinking about. If the nfl discusses continuing the game I would certainly want it left up to the players whether they actually want to continue or not. You can care about Hamlins health and think the situation is a bit unfair…it’s not an either/or that’s my guess as to how it’s going to go down…nfl will offer a reschedule and leave it up to both teams and if both teams agree they don’t want to play the game it won’t be counted.
  3. If they cancel the game I’m pretty sure you’re right about how it’s going to go down. It’s pretty wild that kc essentially gets 2 gifts in one though…cincy had a shot at the 1 seed too
  4. Yes…there’s no way to know who was gonna win this one. It was still relatively early in the first quarter and it appeared it was going to be a shootout
  5. Take with a grain of salt but I have read on twitter that if the game is completed it will be within the next two days. Looks like they’re attributing the info to Vic carucci Sounds like the most they’re gonna do if the game actually happens is play the game this week and push back the bills/pats game a little next week
  6. Yea it sounds like his heartbeat was restored but his pulse was pretty weak and the op was asking why he needed help breathing. This is great news…I’m hopeful they were able to restart his heart relatively quickly
  7. He’s 1/2 then because he said the bills wouldn’t be able to run the ball…we had 35 rushing yards our first drive
  8. He’ll likely be in the icu for a few more days labeled as critical condition I’d think.
  9. I have never seen anything like that in my life…not even any of the really awful neck injuries where you weren’t sure if the players would even walk again. The whole bills team thought they were watching their friend die on the field it was absolutely awful
  10. I think they’re gonna play it but they don’t want the focus to be on rescheduling the game right now which is the right call
  11. Your heart can’t pump the oxygenated blood around your body well enough when your heart function is very compromised. So the lungs stop working as well and stuff starts to get backed up. he had a pulse but it was very weak so his heart likely wasn’t strong enough for him to breathe on his own. They put him on a ventilator to essentially breathe for him and it sounds like his heart function has returned to normal but as a precaution they’ll likely leave him on the ventilator for awhile and monitor things
  12. Idk exactly what happened but I think an AED/defibrillator is supposed to stop your heart so that it can restart naturally on its own in the appropriate rhythm. So it’s possible that the shot to the chest knocked his heartbeat way out of rhythm to the point where he was losing motor function and the only way to save him was to restart his heart.
  13. For me it’s not at all about who’s lying. But I think zac Taylor may have done a really special thing here and it gets undercut by the nfl saying they just instructed both teams to leave the field and there were never any plans to restart the game. His team had a near perfect start and it looked like they were trying to restart a game his team would more than likely win and without hesitation he went over to McDermott and they decided they weren’t finishing the game. If that’s the case I feel like people deserve to know. And if the league handled it well that would be a good thing for people to know also. maybe it’s stupid and I’m just looking for a silver lining in a terrible situation..idk. Thanks for the civil answer though Blunt force trauma to your chest can stop your heart…Hamlin suffered cardiac arrest and they had to restart his heart
  14. You’re not replying to me directly and I haven’t followed what people with similar ish opinions have been saying so feel free to disregard if I’m way off base here…but can I ask why? can you imagine seeing your friends heart stop on the field and he’s taken off in an ambulance then allegedly hearing ‘be ready to go in 5 minutes’. Maybe I can only speak for myself but it is because I feel terribly for the players/Hamlin that I want to know what happened. It’s not at all just looking for an excuse to take out a pitchfork against the nfl again. I would be as happy as anyone to hear it’s all just coincidental…it’s not something I’m actively trying to believe
  15. According to his own quote he was: ‘They’ve been given 5 minutes to get ready to go back to playing…that’s the word weve gotten from the league and the word we’ve gotten from down on the field’ is the particular quote I’m talking about. There is a near 0% chance they were just outlining the standard ambulance procedures there. and if he somehow was just talking about standard procedure, that quote should’ve been corrected at some point imo. they announced it over the PA also it sounds like(maybe someone at the game can confirm so I do not need to trust twitter) and the bengals offense was warming up on the sideline after the announcement . I absolutely respect your opinion that the right decision was reached and how they got there isn’t important, but I can see people being skeptical of how some of this was handled. It could definitely be a series of coincidences but based on what we saw it’s a pretty reasonable assumption that the league wanted the game to go on and the coaches stepped in.
  16. If he didn’t say ‘that’s the word we got from down on the field but nobody is moving’ I could’ve chalked it all up to aikman/buck just assuming the standard protocol was being followed and not even thought about it twice. that’s a really specific thing to say though. it was like everything changed after McDermott and Taylor talked. If they were instructed to clear the field before that a lot of what the bengals player's were doing doesn’t make a lot of sense
  17. Uggh just when I started to believe it. If Zac Taylor and McDermott stood up to the nfl wanting to resume the game I really think we deserve to know that. an announcer slipping up once not using the best words to describe something I could buy . the evidence though likely points to the announcement being made or a series of really crazy coincidences…it was repeated by the announcers quite a few times and burrow was warming up and McDermott and Taylor had a long conversation before the players were pulled from the field
  18. They might offer the bills/bengals finishing this game later this week and slide the bills and bengals games back next week but not fully canceling the bye before the superbowl. And if the bengals and bills both don’t want to do that they’ll probably just tie the game.
  19. It’ll take several days to know for sure but normal vital signs a couple days after the injury is a much different situation than watching your friend fighting for his life leaving the field in an ambulance and having to finish the game. I’m not saying I agree with it but I would not be surprised to see the game moved to Wednesday or something like that and sliding the bills and bengals prospective games back next week im with you though personally I don’t think it’s any less emotionally difficult if they play the game in a day or two
  20. Could be they don’t play it but I think they’re trying to ensure people understand the priority is hamlins health right now. I wouldn’t say this is proof that they aren’t going to finish the game
  21. The medical response was absolutely without a doubt top notch and that is the only important thing at the end of the day. I have no interest in vilifying the nfl when I talk about what happened behind the scenes with the decision to suspend the game but if it was in fact a coaches decision I really want to see Zac Taylor and McDermott get their due.
  22. I remember aikman saying something like they were trying to get him loaded into the ambulance and the 5 minute announcement was made but then they could not get him in the ambulance at that time. He said it in a way that implied it actually happened but he absolutely could have misspoke
  23. I’m a little confused but I want to trust him…multiple ESPN commentators said that announcement was made. Maybe a ref amidst the chaos was informing teams of the standard ambulance protocol?
  24. I would be very happy if this is true…even SVP and the ESPN commentators were saying the 5 minute announcement was made though so I’m curious who that all is getting sourced from. I admittedly can’t remember if they said they were seeing it from tweets or not though.
