Xavier Worthy: So far, not much more than a gadget guy
Generic_Bills_Fan replied to Logic's topic in The Stadium Wall
Chargers defense just refused to cover worthy on that play that everyone is overreacting to lol his two statement plays have been busted coverage type situations. I honestly think there’s a real chance the chiefs got absolutely fleeced on that trade…Carter is looking pretty good early -

Haha I agree in the complete opposite way if I’m interpreting this post correctly. Coleman looks like the more complete player to me and it’s honestly not particularly close. We’ll see though as worthy is gonna have more opportunities now. Worthy just jaunting past a corner and a safety on a go route is not gonna be there for him the vast majority of the time…I have absolutely no idea what the chargers defense was doing on that play 😂. Coleman made some big time plays in tight coverage during an everything going wrong type of game and had a couple open deep shots if the oline held up a split second longer dewayne Carter who we ended up grabbing from that trade down is lookin pretty good too seems like he immediately phased out Austin Johnson -
What’s up with the bills usage of Kincaid?
Generic_Bills_Fan replied to iwishitwerecolder's topic in The Stadium Wall
Idk what the heck happened in the ravens game lol Simon pointed it out that the flat routes were there at times and then I couldn’t unsee it 🤣. seems like josh/brady or maybe both panicked trying to keep pace with the ravens offense and abandoned the shorter stuff that likely would’ve worked and the ravens very much knew we would -

Kincaid gets a ton of defensive attention from what I’ve seen…I think we tend to underrate our players that aren’t household names yet (mostly just because they play in Buffalo 😂) but defenses certainly treat him like he’s great he is so good at catching balls in stride and turning something like a 3 yard flat route into a 7 or 8 yard gain too which nobody talks about for whatever reason but it’s huge Most fans don’t care about blocking on running plays which absolutely infuriates me lol if diggs put any effort at all into blocking maybe he’d still be here…the guy was the laziest player when he wasn’t the primary target -
Coaching and front office I’d say…idk why they thought they could build around a guy that really can’t read a defense if his first option is taken away. Such a bizarre decision hes got that quick release that they want but the better defenses can force him to hold onto the ball so the whole team philosophy is completely broken
-
McDaniel is the opposite of Flores which they thought was a good thing at first 😂. Kind of ironic really. If they let Flores finish out that rebuild I bet he’d have that team contending

Idk I’ve seen a lot of valid josh criticisms after this game and ‘he lost a step scrambling’ is not one of them imo. I don’t think it’s Stan culture to call out one specific critique of how he’s been playing lol he definitely bails clean pockets too early when his oline has struggled in the game, he’s probably having issues setting protections, but in a regular season game where your team is getting absolutely manhandled and you have an injured hand it makes absolutely zero sense to take crazy risks scrambling even if it is available. Doesn’t mean he can’t do it when it makes sense to. A lot of these plays were instant pressure from all sides lol I don’t think he’s gonna scramble out of a lot of those
-
His speed seems so underrated because he had the worst 40 yard dash form of all time haha
-
Idk who they can add that’s a big impact without a huge trade that will sink them in the future when rice/hollywood brown can play. Rice could miss the next season too though if they tack a suspension on so they might potentially go that route they REALLY need OTs also…the issue for bills/chiefs is when the oline doesn’t show up it exposes the wr talent. I don’t think the needle would’ve moved much dumping an all pro wr on the bills for that ravens game with how bad the offensive line played. And when the oline holds up, you can roll with a bunch of solid role players at wr difference between the two games this week is the chiefs played an absolutely comically injured chargers team so they hung on to that undefeated record. I think they’ve got major issues beyond wr that people aren’t digging into too much since they’re undefeated

9/29/2024 Bills @ Ravens post game thread

Maybe this is more saying the same thing a different way and not disagreeing but I think mcd tried to do what he always does with much worse players in a few very important positions. From a pretty limited sample size of running with a heavier defensive formation it seemed like things could’ve gone even worse if we went that route 😂. Morrow was godawful -

Same sort of deal on the offensive side too…Baltimore didn’t really do anything complicated up front but they won a high percentage of 1v1 pass rushing matchups. Limiting separation is easy when you’re getting to the qb because your guys don’t have to cover long. Prime diggs got shut down all the time in that scenario. There wasn’t much of a ‘secret formula’ that Baltimore employed that other teams now can replicate. we also got a big panicky with the playcalling seeing the defense not able to slow them down too and abandoned the run a bit early imo. When we were actually running the ball we ran it as well as anyone has against that Baltimore defense. -

Not every team has Lamar Jackson, Derrick Henry, likely, and Andrews lol. ‘Oh no there’s tape out there now’ has to be the most overblown thing in football. just because you can watch how another team beat an opponent doesn’t mean you can replicate it with the talent you have. Every opposing coach knows we have huge weaknesses at LB and safety right now and our nickel corner isn’t as good as the starter. It isn’t like Baltimore discovered it 🤣 biggest issue I’ve seen is we have way overcompensated for keeping mobile qbs in the pocket since halftime in Arizona and we’ve already faced the two most notable examples of that. -

It looked like they tried to go heavier early which led to a few extremely easy short throws leading to big gains really felt like a damned if you do damned if you don’t situation in this one specifically but overall that criticism seems pretty valid -
One or all of Milano/bernard/johnson playing would’ve made a HUGE difference in that game. watching the ravens pick on only our replacement level players had me wondering what the heck our other opponents have been doing lol. Ravens are probably best suited to expose a huge weakness at LBer though. Arizona is up there also so that game makes a ton of sense now too Its wild after what felt like a million years of no playoffs we have fans that can’t emotionally handle one loss lol

Joe Marino All-22 review - "The coaches were duds"
Generic_Bills_Fan replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall
That’s kind of where I’m at…it’s easy to say coaches had a bad night but I don’t think any other coaching staff does THAT much better with the talent we had on the field that night -
Hes sliding more often and protecting himself these days which is what you want in the regular season…hasn’t lost a step at all im sure it’s an honest critique it’s just wrong 😂

So far WR group looks like a dumpster fire

Lol 3 weeks in is a comically small sample size. If you believe the best scoring defense last year suddenly has the worst pass defense in the league I just don’t know what to tell you. your new worst pass defense in the league based on this small sample size system? 4-0 Minnesota which is pretty funny because they are allowing 14.8 ppg -

The raiders didn’t crack 270 total yards as a team in that game lol y’all are makin it sound like they walked up and down the field. The ravens defense is good all around -

It could be yea…its way too early to look at season team stats -

Worst pass defense in the league after three games is the funniest thing getting parroted here 😂. Say what you will about the cowboys in the playoffs but they light it up in the regular season, then they had the chiefs week 1. That’s 66% percent of their games right there. -

Generic_Bills_Fan replied to Ethan in Cleveland's topic in The Stadium Wall
Making claims like that about a defense after only three weeks when 66% of their games were against the cowboys and chiefs is pretty wild lol. If this was week 10 or something then yea go nuts with that -
Cam lewis and Hamlin are awful, Spector is bad. The ravens straight up victimized those guys and it made us one dimensional
-
The defense will be back…our backups got absolutely victimized. the ravens went after them hard on just about every play to the point where I really don’t understand what anybody else was doing against us 😂 the oline is definitely concerning though
