Lamar Jackson wants guarantees that exceed Watson contract
Chaos replied to SCBills's topic in The Stadium Wall
Patrick Mahomes Josh Allen Joe Burrows Aaron Rodgers Jalen Hurts Trevor Lawrence Justin Hebert Those are the seven I would rather have as my QB. -
My point was pretty good chance Bergeron is gone at 59. I do think one of Bergeron or Joe Tippman is available at 59. I would be very happy with either

position coaching matters. See Josh Allen for a recent case study.

This highlights the biggest complexity in evaluating college talent. Certainly for amateurs and I expect is a primary separator from the top scouts in the NFL and the other scouts in the NFL: the disparate talent levels at QB and Coaching in College. JSN caught passes from a QB who is presumed to be one of the most NFL ready QBs in the NFL. Johnston caught passes from a QB who may very well not be drafted. As an analogy most of us are quite sure Dawson Knox is held back by Ken Dorsey. But we also judge Knox's underlying talent based on having one of the best QB in the NFL throwing too him. We don't know what Knox would like like with Reid Mahomes. Nor do we know what he would look like with Derek Carr or Kenny Pickett throwing him passes. Johnston's college production levels are pretty mediocre. One would really have to assume he was held back in college to take him with a top 10 or 15 pick, IMO. We do know that in a good system JSN can generate a high level of production. We also know that Garret Wilson who looked good with Zach Wilson/Mike White came from the same program. Hard for me to imagine taking Johnston ahead of JSN. (Unless injury concerns for JSN are high)

The only team reported to have a pre-draft interview with Bergeron is the Chiefs. Certainly doesn't mean he is their top pick. But they seem to have a tackle need, and if Wright is gone before 31, the Chiefs could very well take him.

You watch more tape than me. (And i on on record of wanting to go for Darnell Wright with #27). But I think regarding Campbell, you need to watch his tape again when he is in coverage. He is so much smoother in his change of direction than Edmunds, it looks slower, but I am pretty certaion he is not slower on the change in directions. His measurements reflect what is on tape. It is just different than frantic change of directions Edmunds had to make to recover from his lack of instincts.

Campbell measures better in the shuttle. Measures better in the 3 cone. Measures better in vertical. Measures better in Broad Jump. A tick slower in the 40. Better in pass coverage. Calling him a "thumper" who is deficient in other areas is ridiculous.

Campbell is bigger stronger faster more agile. he led the nation in pass coverage from the LB position in 2022. Why is Sanders better?

I don't know if interviews are a leading indicator. For example, it seems unlikely no one will draft Jack Campbell.
-
No interviews by any NFL team for Jack Campbell. No interviews by any NFL team for Joe Tippmann. Only 3 for Bijan Robinson Giants (picking 26) (Bills 27) (Eagles 30)

I read Darnell Washington as Darnell Wright. a bunch of the bolded players will be in round 2. I don't think any of them make it 59, which is all that matters to the Bills right now.

Because the Bills don’t have enough curses.

For purposes of the Bills' board it doesn't matter if Richardson goes 1st or 26th. I also think he will go first though.

Updated 4/1/2023 - V1.2 - Darnell Wright OT to 23 ahead of Jack Campbell LB, based on TBD voting. Lukas Van Ness Iowa,Dalton Kincaid Utah,Michael Mayer Notre Dame removed from the BPA list to automatically be selected ahead of Wright. Bijan Robinson moved ahead of Zay Flowers. Some small reshuffling among 38-40 based on TBD polls and commentary. The Bears, Browns and Bills play in the most extreme weather conditions in the NFL. Lets some up their 21st century Super Bowl success. Green Bay is cold too, but does not have the lake driven wind conditions.
-
I have come to believe there is zero chance Campbell lasts until 59.

BPA after the first two picks did not come close to any available WRs. I mentioned in a different post, that the Bills don't have much liklihood of finding a WR2 better than Davis, one of the 3 LBs who are expected to be first year starters in the NFL, and an offensive tackle that is likely to be better than Spencer Brown this year. Two of out three is going to have to do.
