  1. There is a LOT of buzz that DW wants out of Houston. Watson already is what everyone hopes Allen will someday become. Given the choice, you pay whatever it takes to get Watson and see what you can get in trade for Allen. I can’t imagine there is a GM in the league (Beane possibly excluded) who would prefer Allen at $30,000,000 over Watson at $40,000,000.
  2. John Brown and Duke Williams were the leading WRs against the Texans. They combined to catch 8 passes on 18 targets for 99 yards and no scores. A week later against the same team, Sammy had only 2 targets but caught both of them for 76 yards. The Chiefs offense was much better with him on the field during the regular season than when he was out, and then he took his game to the next level in the postseason. People here love to hate him, but there aren’t a lot of 26 year olds with over 4000 receiving yards and over 30 TDs in the regular season plus those kind of postseason performances.
  3. One game? In his two seasons with the Chiefs, he’s played 5 postseason games. 6 catches for 62 yards 4 catches for 114 yards 2 catches for 76 yards 7 catches for 114 yards 5 catches for 98 yards 2 years, 5 games, 34 targets, 24 catches, 464 yards, 1 ring
  4. Watkins is a great fit in KC’s offense. He’s typically up against the other team’s #1 Corner. With Hill on the other side, teams generally provide Safety help. Kelce then becomes a huge mismatch because LBs can’t cover him. When Watkins is out, Kelce’s production goes way down. Sammy can block, get YAC, and he doesn’t complain about not getting enough targets. Oh yeah, he also had a 70 yard TD to ice the AFCCG and torched Sherman on the go-ahead drive in the Super Bowl. Every 2019 offensive starter from KC is now returning.
  5. So where do you think the 800 rushing yards and 2 rushing TDs Buffalo returns should rank?
  6. Nothing is going to destroy the legacy of a guy who has coached 9 Super Bowls and won 6 of them. Brady was terrible the first time they won. He’s proven that he can win 11 games with a backup QB, and Vegas still thinks New England will win the AFCE. His legacy is just fine.
  7. It would be like if Pat Mahomes retired during this offseason. Smith didn’t have the body of work, but nobody ever did it better entering the league. Aldon was on an entirely different level than any pass rusher in the NFL three years before he even got to his prime. He had 33.5 sacks before the age of 24. Reggie White had 0 career sacks before the age of 24. Bruce’s two highest sack seasons combined were 34.
  8. Any team would be cool.
  9. That guy was putting up historic numbers at the start of his career. He didn’t start a game as a rookie, and he had 14 sacks. He had 19.5 sacks his second season. He might be the best pass rusher in history. That’s not hyperbole. He just couldn’t get out of his own way.
  10. Why is Vegas always so dumb? I don’t understand how they stay in business.
  11. Why would it be lower quality football? More teams in the playoffs means fewer games featuring teams eliminated from the playoffs, and only having one bye in each conference means fewer games with teams resting starters. Unless you’re a fan of watching teams tank, there is no downside.
  12. Sadly, that would be safer than any major city in the US.
  13. If it weren’t for the neutral site games, the discussion would have been 18 games.
  14. The whole point of the 17 game season is so that every team can have 8 home games and 1 neural site game.
  15. Hard to believe the atmosphere wasn’t electric for a showdown between EJ Manuel and Blake Bortles.
  16. I like Allen at 40-1 more than I like Cam at 50-1.
  17. You can’t really fault Ford for that. There was a player chasing his QB coming right at him. Every T in the league makes that block. But it doesn’t matter anyway. Had the penalty not been called, it was 4th and 5 from the 38. Hauschka wasn’t kicking a 56 yard FG, and McDermott wasn’t going for it. At worst, it cost the Bills a few yards of field position, and that was only because of the bad punt (that still rolled to the 17 yard line). That block was a non-factor in the outcome.
  18. Patriots are even odds to win the division in Vegas right now.
  19. Matt Barkley is a national treasure and an inspiration to us all. He has earned over $7,000,000 in his career while giving every American reason to believe they they too can be an NFL quarterback regardless of their complete lack of ability to do so with any degree of competency. Nathan Peterman could only last 2 years throwing 3 TDs and 12 INT’s, but Barkley has not only been in the league since 2013, he’s left and come back TWICE despite 10 TDs and 21 INTs (and 10 fumbles for good measure). The guy is legitimately terrible and has no business being on an NFL roster. The Bills are in ‘win now’ mode, and Allen has missed games pretty much every season he’s played organized football, so a competent backup QB who can give you a shot at winning is a must. This team is good enough to win ten or eleven games and the AFCE, but they aren’t good enough to do that with Barkley under center for 3-4 games. Those worried about Josh’s psyche are off base. If he’s so mentally fragile that he can’t perform with Cam Newton or Joe freaking Flacco standing on his own sideline, then how’s he supposed to look across the field in the postseason and see Pat Mahomes standing on the other sideline and not crap his pants? Allen’s had two seasons of being treated with kid gloves while McBeane has worked to build a roster around him. It’s time for him to go out there and win games. Franchise QBs entering their prime aren’t intimidated by Andy Dalton looking over their shoulders.
  20. Watson completed 80% of his passes in the playoff game, had over 300 total yards of offense, two TDs, no turnovers, a QB rating of 121.2, and made an amazing play to win the game. Your definition of “wrecked” and mine are very different.
  21. What does that even mean? Diggs is a proven commodity who put up big numbers catching passes from Case Keenum and Kirk Cousins. What “process” does he have to buy into in order to make a difference?
  22. John Brown is the GOAT QB. He threw two passes this season, and both went for TDs.
  23. He's 18th in a somewhat obscure stat. Did anyone claim he was bottom 5 in every possible category? If they did, they're incorrect. If not, what's your point?
  24. Now look at how man games the QBs below him played. Darnold and Stafford each threw exactly one fewer TD than Allen, but they played 13 games and 8 games respectively. I mean he threw 10 more TDs than Bridgewater, but Teddy only started 5 games. If you limit the list to those who started at least 13 games, he’s bottom 5 in most major passing categories.
  25. There’s not a single QB on that list below Allen in yards who played 16 games. Only 1 played more than 13 games (Jacoby Brissett). For TD passes, only 2 Brissett and Trubisky played more than 13 games and threw fewer than Allen. Only 3 with lower passer ratings played more than 13 games. jrober is right.
