True, but Brady was the only one on offense.Maybe McDermott and his D need to step up.
I think in 2024 even if that DT and S are HoFers it won’t make enough of a difference

1-32 where to you rank the Bills WRs? I’m not talking about the TEs or RBs. Where do you think that they are in terms of WR rooms? Please list all of the teams that you think are worse than them.
No one will take you up on this because anyone who believes the Bills have a good WR room doesn’t follow the league as a whole.

As long as they can catch the ball.Josh is the one QB that can make it all work.
I’m not too worried until it becomes worrisome.
People are too worked up over the WR position.
I have seen teams with terrible WR corps hoist up Lombardi’s in my 6 billion years on earth.
Brady’s first SB comes to mind when he had garbage weaponry to work with, for example.
Multiple HoFers on that team though.

You must have missed Josh Allen’s rookie season.
Now THAT was the worst WR room anyone has ever seen, outside the 1984 Bills. This is 2nd worst though, easily lol

I know. Their loss. I’m not making 25k a year as an amateur scout.

Let’s go on record. We know situations and QBs. Who ya got?

I am 100 and I mean 100% sure it would be the former. I have done the pick by pick anaylsis of the Panthers drafts during Beane's decade in senior front office positions. 3 receivers in the first two days in 10 years. Over a dozen DL in the same period. It is who he is. It is how he learned. It is what he believes in.
It’s why firing McD and keeping Beane won’t change roster building strategy, imo.

Because he was injured. Let’s see him healthy.
We get you. If they had taken 3 WRs you be on here complaining we did nothing to fortify other areas. Or if they had taken say Leggette you’d be screaming they should have taken Coleman. And so on.
Hilarious. I’ve been begging to draft a WR for 3 years. I’m on record this off-season debating hard against taking Coleman with @Alphadawg7 and @HappyDays predraft.
I actually have courage in my convictions, rather than saying our WR room is solved by Hamler (who cannot stay healthy at the NFL this far) and has 12 rec in 3 seasons combined and Shorter, an unproductive college WR who was a stashed fifth rounder last year.
Your analysis is post-hoc to a T. The moves we did were great because we did them. No one was arguing Shorter and Hamler solved our problems 4 days ago lol

We already have double dipped with Hamler and Shorter. What makes you think a 6th round WR is better than these guys?
Hamler? The guy who caught 12 balls in the last 3 years?
Yeah, I think there’s a chance Beane could’ve found a guy to do better than that lmao
-
Beane would rather sign a JAG fifth rounder from 2020 over drafting a fifth round WR in the great WR 2024 draft.
Honestly, make it make sense.

Wasn't Boogie drafted off the COVID off season? You know, the one that GMs couldn't go to Pro Days, do as much deep digging as usual? Couldn't get in person with the draftees?
You know, the season that NFL GMs were pretty much relegated to having only slightly more information available to them than fans normally do? And they missed on that pick? Shocker.
Oh man, that must be why every other second round pick by every other GM was a bust. Or was it because COVID only happened in Erie County?

Only two explanations are incompetence or malfeasance.

People who watch YouTube highlight reels, read Mel Kiper, watch a college game on TV, read combine stats, have a fantasy team, etc.
are smarter than...
A GM supported by a College Scout Team who: dedicate their 24/7 to scouting, have met the player privately in person, maybe had a private tryout, went to college games in person, spoke with college coaches, actually fielded calls with other NFL GMs, etc. And has detailed inside knowledge of his team needs that no outside has.
every time.
exactly. That’s why Boogie Basham is gonna be an All-Pro, because there’s no way some folks on here could be right about him being a complete and total bum, while Beane thinks he’s worth a second rounder.

I'd like to start a new tradition here on Two Bills Drive.
The premise is simple. I want everyone who's interested in testing their drafting acumen against Brandon Beane's to list who theywould have chosen at each spot, based on who was available in real life, compared to who the Bills actually chose.
I'll list where the Bills picked, who they picked in real life, and then who I would have picked. And I'd like each person who wants to participate to do the same. You can copy and paste the Bills picks and then post your own chosen player next to it (using the link below and picking only players who were available at that pick), unless you'd rather stick with who the Bills picked.
The only rule is that you have to pick where the Bills actually picked. You can't undo a trade-down they made, and you can't invent a new trade-down or trade-up. You have to stick with the real draft slots that the Bills picked from.
We can check back on this in future years and compare our own preferences to who Beane picked. A chance for each of us to put our money where our mouth is.
Here's the listing of everyone picked in the 2024 NFL draft and where, for easy reference: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2024_NFL_draft
I'll start:
Bills 2024 draft class:
Pick 33: WR Keon Coleman, Florida StatePick 60: S Cole Bishop, Utah
Pick 95: DT DeWayne Carter, Duke
Pick 128: RB Ray Davis, Kentucky
Pick 141: C/G Sedrick Van Pran-Granger, Georgia
Pick 160: LB Edefuan Ulofoshio, Washington
Pick 168: DE Javon Solomon, Troy
Pick 204: T Tylan Grable, UCF
Pick 219: CB Daequan Hardy, Penn State
Pick 221: G Travis Clayton, International Player Pathway
Who I would've picked instead:
Pick 33: WR Ladd McConkey, Georgia
Pick 60: S Cole Bishop, Utah (same as Bills)
Pick 95: WR Troy Franklin, Oregon
Pick 128: CB TJ Tampa, Iowa State
Pick 141: C/G Sedrick Van Pran-Granger, Georgia (same as Bills)
Pick 160: RB Tyron Tracy Jr, Purdue
Pick 168: DE Javon Soloman, Troy (same as Bills)
Pick 204: OG Christian Mahogany, Boston College
Pick 219: WR Brendan Rice, USC
Pick 221: CB MJ Devonshire, Pitt
Can I go back in time and not trade away the pick for Legette?

I actually like Scotty Miller some. He would be fine to compete for the 6th roster spot. He offers some traits that I like. The problem is, he will be a 4 here. All of the guys are pushed 2 spots up the depth chart because we are missing the top of it.
The point wasn’t necessarily about a particular guy. It was about “if you are planning on _____ to help you, your room stinks.” They’re going to have to make a trade June 1 because they can’t go into the season with this group. It’s just not good enough or dynamic enough. They’re way too easy to defend.
Our only chance is honestly for Khalil Shakir to turn into Antonio Brown

Actually we do. The Bills would have simply stayed put and drafted Worthy if they had him higher or wanted to draft him. Thats fairly obvious.
They may have had a higher grade on Worthy, but not first round grade. Traded back, and he’s gone.
KC didn’t tell them who they were going for lol

Lol, this is the saddest thread on here in a while. There are people on here that think this WR room is good. We are now suggesting ways to make it even better!! People are talking about adding (in no particular order): Chase Claypool, Kenny Golladay, washed Michael Thomas, washed OBJ, and washed Allen Robinson.
What are we doing here? The Bills needed to upgrade the WR room. They needed 2 boundary receivers at the top of the depth chart. They added one guy that was the most polarizing WR prospect, in arguably the greatest WR draft ever. That’s a massive failure. You aren’t going to dig yourself out by adding Kenny Golladay. As it stands the Bills have the worst WR group in the NFL. The TEs are good and the backs can catch but the WRs are last IMO.
Forget it Jake, it’s TBD.
everyone knows if I did a mock draft 3 days ago and only walked away with Coleman in the second, everyone here would absolutely hate it.

oh. And we have a CYBORG at QB.
And the potential of bringing in a vet wr?
everyone needs to chill. We’ll be competitive for sure.
This is the first year of retooling for Allen’s second window.
We’ll be competitive because Allen surrounded by dog**** is worth 10 wins.

We know that the Bills had Coleman higher than McConkey, Mitchell, Legette, Worthy, and Pearsall. If they didn't they would have taken one of Worthy, McConkey, Legette or Pearsall at 28 (or 32) instead of trading down (twice).
We don’t know this at all actually.
We can say they had Coleman higher than McConkey and Mitchell only.

In all seriousness, Chark isn't a star but he makes a lot of sense.
I actually wanted Chark last year, he’s at least an NFL WR

You don't contribute. If you think you do, that's just absolutely pathetic. All you do is complain. Get some glasses and read your damn posts.
Lol I was so big on the coaching job McD did last year, I thought he earned his extension in full. I have argued for years he’s a top 10 coach in the NFL.
Go back to the playing in sand.
