  1. Happy Natal Anniversary! Cheers
  2. I thought it was Mike Goff?
  3. talk about LAME... he's not making an issue of it at all. he's saying the exactly what you just wrote - that the Bills asked Hardy about the number situation before they offered it to T.O., hardy said, "no problem", and that it's the national media trying to make it a big story that T.O demanded Hardy surrender the number. geez, did you read the guy's post?
  4. Fair question, Bill - the Losman story in Buffalo has ended. I'd rather have Jason Peters. But no way would I pay him the kind of money he's asking, and no way would I put up with another holdout. I'm still pissed at him for last season and, no matter what Jauron says publicly, so is the Bills' front office... Link I don't think the Bills are going to put up with his hold-out crap two years in a row - it'll just become standard practice for Peters to piss & moan & hold out every time someone gets a better deal than his while he shows up out of shape, unfamiliar with the playbook and offensive signals, and generally far behind the rest of the team and our opponents' teams in terms of game readiness when the season opens. Peters needs to do all the things he should have done last year coming off an injury and off-season surgery, namely, show up for OTAs and camp, play the preseason, and start the regular season in game shape, familiar with the play book, signals, cadences, etc. But since that's not going to happen, I'd rather trade the guy for players and picks than see him hurt the team again with a holdout. He should be worth 2 firsts, or a high first and high 2nd, or even multiple picks over 2-3 years depending on how badly someone covets him.
  5. This is what Jimmy Johnson got for Herschel Walker... Minnesota Vikings Received: * RB Herschel Walker * Dallas's 3rd round pick - 1990 (54) (Mike Jones) * San Diego's 5th round pick - 1990 (116) (Reggie Thornton) * Dallas's 10th round pick - 1990 (249) (Pat Newman) * Dallas's 3rd round pick - 1991 (68) (Jake Reed) [edit] Dallas Cowboys Received: * LB Jesse Solomon * LB David Howard * CB Issiac Holt * RB Darrin Nelson (traded to San Diego after he refused to report to Dallas) * DE Alex Stewart * Minnesota's 1st round pick in 1990 (21) They traded this pick along with pick (81) for pick (17) from Pittsburgh to draft (Emmitt Smith) * Minnesota's 2nd round pick in 1990 (47) (Alexander Wright) * Minnesota's 6th round pick in 1990 (158) (traded to New Orleans, who drafted James Williams) * Minnesota's 1st round pick in 1991 (conditional) - (11) (Pat Harlow) * Minnesota's 2nd round pick in 1991 (conditional) - (38) (Darryll Lewis) * Minnesota's 2nd round pick in 1992 (conditional) - (37) (Darren Woodson) * Minnesota's 3rd round pick in 1992 (conditional) - (71) (traded to New England, who drafted Kevin Turner) * Minnesota's 1st round pick in 1993 (conditional) - (13) (traded to Philadelphia Eagles, and then to the Houston Oilers, who drafted Brad Hopkins) Dallas ended up with a total of six of Minnesota's picks over the succeeding years, two of which were used to draft Emmitt Smith and Darren Woodson. Jimmy Johnson used the other draft picks to make trades with other teams around the NFL. One of the trades led to obtaining the first overall draft pick in 1991, which was used to draft Russell Maryland. In other words, the trade of Herschel Walker to the Vikings contributed largely to the Cowboys' success in the early 1990s. Link Now if the Bills can do half as well with PayMe Peters, we'll get players to plug holes that exist right now, plus a bunch of picks in this and future drafts. IF Peters is so God-like, there must be at least one GM who's as smart as the FanBoys on TSW, and who would give anything to grab him.
  6. And if we were to sign him to a whopping extension with $$$tons$$$ o' guaranteed monies only to find out he was a one-year wonder at LT - or even worse, will never recover from his multiple injuries but will pull the hold-out crap every time a new young LT gets a bigger contract - you'll be the first one calling the Bills front office a bunch of idiots.
  7. Not to worry Frez! All we gotta do is find one GM that's as smart as all the Peters FanBoys on TSW!
  8. If I remember correctly, that was one of the main points folks made when arguing not to give him the $$$gazillions$$$ he was demanding last season - "let's take a 'wait & see' approach' and make sure he's still playing at a high level." If I also remember correctly, he's again coming off an injury, and didn't exactly play at the level expected of him last season anyway.
  9. Um, didn't we get Peters real cheap?
  10. Awwww...poor Trent (Sounds like you're already getting a list of excuses ready, just in case your boy's not so good, you FanBoy! ) I know you and some others like to ignore this fact, but the sacks were 'piling up' with Peters at Left Tackle last season... "Buffalo's Jason Peters gave up more sacks than any starting left tackle in the league in 2008. His 11.5 sacks allowed came in only 13 games because he missed three with various injuries after a training camp holdout. He was even worse than fellow turnstile LTs Jeff Backus, Khalif Barnes, Kwame Harris, Max Starks, and Levi Jones. Peters has very little leverage if he still wants that raise." Link
  11. Trade him for players & picks. Bye bye PayMe Peters. Move Walker to LT - Langston did a fine job spelling FatBoy while he huffed and puffed himself into playing shape. Speed up the development of Demetrius Bell. Draft an OT, or pick up a FA. Lots of options. Problem solved. Next problem, please... 19 and 0 baby!!! GO BILLSSS!!!! PosLUSZny!!!!!
  12. Why would the Bills be taking the time and expense to meet with him if they don't want him back?
  13. You can't always get what you want.
  14. That, sir, is the most brilliant statement you've posted to date. Somebody give that boy a cheroot!
  15. yeah, weak. right. sure. guy played 13 games, lead the league in sacks allowed. coaches & players took a real close look at that, and definitely voted him in on merit. keep dreaming.
  16. Oh, was FatBoy supposed to get out of his stance and try to protect his QB, instead of letting a 200 lb. safety dust him on the play? 'Cause I keep reading that he wasn't supposed to do that - it wasn't his guy to block.
  17. You mean we can't get all that and more for PayMe? Guess I must be jaded by all the crap I keep reading that Peters is just the greatest freakin' God of a football player that ever set foot on the gridiron!
  18. you said 'poo'
  19. Jauron doesn't seem like the type to do things 'purely out of spite', which leads me to think that either the injury was worse than we know or something else was happening 'behind the scenes'.
  20. Here's an even funnier one... "Jason Peters is the best left tackle in the NFL today, maybe the best ever, and the Bills should just give him anything and everything he wants!"
  21. We will know as soon as.... SKOOOOOBY ...tells us.
  22. Good question - who does he think he is? I'm surprised he'd put that 'stake in the ground', but I was was referring to even more knowlegable TSW experts.
