  1. Well said, Jeremy - I'm not sure I could have captured the true essence of the man any better than you just did, with only one addition - you neglected to mention Peters' selfless attitude toward his teammates. Who else would have quietly sat out the first two and last two starts last season to allow Langston Walker an opportunity to play left tackle? Being the consummate teammate Peters is, I'll bet Jason even takes himself out of Monday nite's game against the Redskins, just to give King Dunlap a chance to redeem himself for his performance against the Raiders...but I'm sure he will also be more than willing to go back in the game and play - if he has to!
  2. A better argument for starting Fitz could not have been made - Trance Checkwards is already in his 3rd year as an NFL starter, and still looks clueless.
  3. We'll see - in a sense, at least for me, the season starts anew this week. I knew that the Bills would - and would have to - eventually find a face-saving way to get Trance Checkwards off the field, despite his professed man-love for Coach Jauron. Now that this has been accomplished, we can finally take our overloaded offense (Lee Evans, Terrell Owens, Josh Reed, Shawn Nelson, Marshawn Lynch, Fred Jackson, et al) out for a 'test drive'. Myself, I am once again extremely optimistic about the absolutely explosive offensive potential of this team, now that Trance Checkwards is where he belongs - in bed, watching his Dakota Fanning films... 15 and 4 baby!!! GO BILLSSS!!!! REVERSE THE CURSE!!!!!
  4. Generally speaking - again, just generally speaking - Harvard guys are usually much brighter than Stanford guys. Ergo, I expect Fitz to make smarter decisions than the somewhat-strange Dakota Fanning fan from Los Gatos.
  5. Don't know much about him, other than yes - he does look like a clown... Gary Patterson What's he known for? The Bills really need a genius on offense, and QBs in particular - does Patterson fit that bill? Can you name one great NFL (or college) player that Patterson has developed?
  6. Yes, I agree - I, too, became overly excited watching Roscoe run backwards.
  7. You, sir, are amazingly prescient; the only thing Fitz - and the Bills - lack is a coach like... Mike Leach
  8. Google'd the same thing myself a few weeks back; Otto Graham & Peyton Manning = great precedent. Another thing in our favour - *WEO's usually wrong.
  9. Yeah with the receiving talent this team has, we should be racking up 300-400 yards a game passing - maybe more - and piling up points. And we would, if we only had a coach like.... Never mind.
  10. Dunno - maybe see if Russ can sucker someone into a 3rd or 4th round pick for Trentie?
  11. Shame on you BeerSphere - he did
  12. Funny, last time I saw Hitler he seemed in a pretty good mood - even told a joke...
  13. Obviously everything depends on how Fitz performs but, if he plays well, I'm pretty sure you'll see him start against Houston at RWS - and if we win two straight, I don't see Trent being 'healthy' for a long, long time...maybe not 'til next season.
  14. Pretty much what I thought would happen...find some face-saving way to get Trent Edwards off the field after our starting O - which failed to score a TD in the pre-season - failed to score a TD against the Saints, then failed to do so again against the win-less Browns. Let's see what Fitz can do with a week of practice as the starter.
  15. Nothin' for nothin', CJ, but you are aware that Halloween's a bigger holiday than Christmas out there, yes? Especially in The Castro (If you should accidentally drop your car keys, just be sure to kick them all the way home before bending to pick 'em up.) One of the craziest events I ever went to - used to be on Halloween weekend - is the... San Francisco Exotic Erotic Ball
  16. You don't think being an NFL HC is a step up from Texas Tech???? Leach has always kept an eye out for better opportunities, and was rumored to be interested in the HC positions at Tennessee, Washington, Auburn, etc. That's why TT wanted to put a clause in his contract requiring permission for him to interview elsewhere and wanted a huge buyout penalty if he leaves; and that's why Leach had those clauses removed before he agreed to a contract extension. Bill Belicheat* also runs a college-style offense - used it to put up 59 points against Tennessee last Sunday in snowy Foxboro... "Right now, we've been contacted by a minimum of three NFL teams who want to implement a spread element," Urban Meyer said last month. "They're going to do it." Maybe more need to, given what the New England Patriots have done with the spread passing game since Bill Belichick began making annual off-season treks to Gainesville (and Meyer to Foxboro, Mass.) the last three years. Link - NFL teams eyeing spread offense Link - The Spread Offense: Coming to an NFL Franchise Near You? Regarding Spurrier, there are myriad reasons why he failed as an NFL HC - work ethic probably topping the list. Guy just wasn't into the job and openly ridiculed other HCs for the long hours they put in, while he himself eschewed such hard work in favor of the golf course. In the end, he wanted to get out of that job. Your last point - on Buffalo weather; you may not be familiar with the weather in Lubbock TX, or with Leach's fondness for practicing and playing in the wind, but I can pretty much guarantee that, were Leach to coach here, the Bills would not be practicing indoors to avoid inclement weather... Unlike Jauron, if there's any home field advantage to be gained from practicing in the elements, Leach would maximize it. That statement is a 'red herring' - there are no better coaches than Leach. Link - Mike Leach defied convention to turn Texas Tech into a contender-and his critics into believers GO BILLSSS!!!!
  17. Yes I do - I was joking. I feel badly for Ms. Turner; she was always one of my favs.
  18. Damn...why do they have to eat so much? Obviously she looked great in 'Body Heat' and the 'Romancing the Stone' series - I also thought KT was pretty hot in one of my favorite flicks...
  19. That was a great return. Do you have any video of his minus 15 yard returns from this season?
  20. Yeah, I saw Astrobot's mock-draft simulation on the previous page...not sure why you want me to look at it again 2010 NFL Draft: Offensive tackles I'm thinking Suh in round 1 for us, and someone else grabs Brown - but hey, if Brown slips to us in round 2, that'd be outstanding! Then again, WalterFootball has us taking Tenessee safety Eric Berry in round one... 2010 NFL Mock Draft
  21. Yeah me too - but I think Brown will go in round 1.
  22. Well, Suh didn't look all that dominant against Texas Tech, but what the hell- that was just one game, and it was, after all, against... Mike Leach
  23. Oh yeah you will - you're far from done - you've only got 22 posts in this thread, leaving another 40 or so posts you'll need to answer!!!! (Only try not to act too queer - I know that's tough for for a knob-gobbler like you, but you're giving folks the creeps with all your talk about 'perverse crushes' :w00t: )
  24. Thought some displaced former Buffalonians might find these two links - w/video - of interest: 1) Last nite's public hearing on the waterfront plans, with nice conceptual video 'virtualization' of project... Questions from community on waterfront 2) Update on downtown casino project... Seneca Nation expands temporary casino
  25. Plus - let's not forget - Welker had superlative coaching at the collegiate level (The precision of Mike Leach's receivers' routes are second to none - you will not see anything like it anywhere. The timing and the execution are uncanny.)
