  1. It's funny that everyone talks about the Bills lack of balance on offense yet the Dolphins passing attack isn't anything to write home about. The defense does so much for that team to stay competitive
  2. If you don't like it, don't post in the thread. It's simple really. What I don't get is why you feel so compelled to get so upset about what someone else has to say on a message board. People are entitled to their opinions regardless of how you perceive them. It's called a hot take. Not sure if you've heard of them. They allow for discussions that might not normally happen because someone takes a stance that isn't necessarily popular or correct. Which I feel this thread has provided.
  3. Honestly I make posts like these knowing that I'll face the vitriol of some board members, but I'm always more than happy to back up my opinions and even walk back to a more reasonable perspective depending on what other posters have to say
  4. That's exactly how I'm feeling about it. As long as the Bills take care of business here they're gonna head into the playoffs with a ton of confidence, essentially winning 4 playoff games in a row to get to that point. Fingers crossed they finish the job the next two weeks.
  5. I get it and admittedly the Bills probably aren't the hottest team in the league. If I had to name one, it would probably be KC, Colts, Rams, or GB. There's still two weeks to go and the Bills could turn it on and look like world beaters, or worse, they could lose out and squeak into the postseason or miss it all together. While looking at the Bills objectively I'd prefer to stand on the positive side of things and make points to that regard. It's like you said all teams have flaws and to cast them aside because they afflict your favorite team is to wear the proverbial rose colored glasses.
  6. Oh ok. Well the idea is that the Bills are one of the hottest teams in the league based off of recent performances, even though they've lost. I'm not sure how many people were saying the Colts were a garbage team, but I don't recall much of that on the boards here. Honestly I remember a lot of 'I told you so's about the Bills run D and the team overall being overrated
  7. That's a fair assessment. Honestly I still don't the the Bills have fully hit their stride. I mean they've played great in this one and against the Chiefs earlier this year but it still feels like they have so much more in the tank. I'm just waiting for the game where they finally turn it all on and never look back The Dolphins scare no one and the Colts are a legit team. My apologies for injecting some optimism into the aether. I should just wallow in the 6 losses the Bills have collected and accept they'll never be the perfect team all of us fans so truly deserve..
  8. I highly doubt a game against them plays out the same as it did last time, everything went right for the Colts from the first snap and being a midseason game the Bills packed it in at the half. Another team who has given them trouble is the Titans. I'd honestly rather the Bills play the Chiefs than either of those two
  9. There's a handful of teams playing good football right now and I'm just happy to see the Bills as one of those teams. Had the Bills won the two games mentioned they'd be considered by most as the team to beat in the AFC, again, they didn't, so the narrative is different. They'd literally have the same record as the chiefs with a H2H win against them meaning #1 seed in the AFC. Granted they lost both games in such dreadful fashion that most here hardly consider them a playoff team. So take from it what you will. I'm just saying there's no team in the NFL that wants to play the Bills in the playoffs! *****! I should've kept my mouth shut!
  10. You know what? I don't hate that take. They have a solid team and have been on a nice run themselves. It would be an interesting game against them to say the least, they're one of a few teams who've given the Bills problems lately
  11. The only team of significance I see is the all-IR Ravens.. they're a feel good story but I'd love for the Bills to play them in the playoffs. Easy win!
  12. Look I like tuna fillets as much as the guy but this is a Bills message board. Get out of here with that nonsense!
  13. Simple premise here guys. If not for once in a decade(?) type weather and the officials' blatant disregard for the rules of the game, the Buffalo Bills would be on a five game win streak headed into the final 2 games of the season. That's obviously not how it has played out and the bills have only won the last two games(in decisive fashion I might add) The two teams they lost to were, at the time, among the hottest teams in the league; one with a hall of fame coach and the other a hall of fame Quarterback and some might even say the GOATS. Yet the Buffalo Bills and Josh Allen were within inches of walking away with a win in each contest. Speaking of Josh Allen, does this kid have the Patriots number or what!? After yesterday's game he joined elite company (Peyton Manning?) in scoring three passing TDs in multiple games against New England in Foxborough. Also the Allen led Bills are the only team who has ever posted a game with Zero! punts against a Belichek coached team or defense in the NFL. So to say the Bills are fizzling out, or they peaked too early is flat out wrong. This iteration of the Bills are primed and ready for some playoff football! So to all the 'realist' out there who expected a Bills loss in Foxborough, get real! You're just pessimists in sheep's clothing. Why don't you just join another fanbase of your just going to cry every week!
  14. So basically you think the Bills are totally overmatched and have no shot at winning. Unless of course you see them winning, in which case it's most likely a fluke
  15. Last time they played the Bills lost a nail biter in which they had an opportunity to win at the end. Not saying anything about the weather. As for matchups the Pats rushing offense is a plus for them and the Bills passing defense is a plus for the Bills, even without Tre. The Bills passing offense is a plus for the Bills and the Pats rushing Defense is a plus for the Pats. Overall it shapes up to be an even matchup with the Bills probably edging out the Pats in terms of overall talent while the Pats have the edge in coaching. So while I can see where you're coming from, the matchups aren't as abysmal as all of the 'realists' say they are. It's one thing to look objectively at things but to look only at how the Bills matchup negatively and determine they'll lose based solely on a few metrics is pessimistic to be honest. (From a fans perspective, the media who don't follow the team are irrelevant) I'm expecting a tight game for the most part with the Bills coming out on top. Also, based on the teams' strengths and weaknesses, I'd be much less surprised if the Bills blowout the Pats than the other way around.
  16. Optimism. Sarcasm. Irony. That's why it's surprising. I guess I should just be so literal and dull that anyone who's negative on the boards can revel in their echo chamber
  17. The big surprise is that there's actually experts picking the Pats!
  18. I suppose the way I look at it is the ultimate goal of the Bills is to field a Superbowl winning team. While I may not have clearly stated what I meant in my previous statements, I have been using that as my barometer for the 'accomplishments' of which I speak. So your perception of me moving the goalposts has, in essence been me clarifying what my initial viewpoint was/is. My apologies for not clearly expressing what I meant initially. To your second point, you're obviously not going to fill a roster with free agents who have Superbowl experience, the premise is absurd. Therefore the way to have a roster of which you and I speak, is to first win a Superbowl and then to draft well. That gives you the experience and expectations of the now 'older' players and the young guns cutting their teeth. So far the Bills have Championship game experience and need to take the next step. Will this be the year? Possibly! We won't know for another few weeks at the very least and about a month and half otherwise.
  19. Genuinely curious. How many Superbowls have those players collectively played in/won? Morse with KC? Sanders has a few Maybe Hyde when he was with GB? The point being that while some of these players have solid (not spectacular) individual accomplishments, not many on the roster have experienced sustained team success at a high level, in the NFL. Which is what the Bills as an organization are looking to build. So in that regard the Bills are still 'young' and cutting their teeth so to speak.
  20. You sir are mistaken! There is no process to these thoughts. That being said, yes. Allen and the other leaders on the team are young and learning how to be the big dogs in the league. Nevermind a lot of the older players on the roster, they haven't actually accomplished much in the league. Therefore they don't offer much in the way of guidance towards being a perennial contender or great team if you will.
  21. You might be right about that.. nevertheless my premise stands! If the Bucs weren't so physically exhausted from playing the Bills they never would've gotten injured. They simply couldn't recover in time for the Saints!
  22. Having an MVP caliber QB, a strong WR core, and one of the leagues top defenses is what the Bills were heading into the season with, after lighting it up last year and coming within a game if the Superbowl. I'm sure the rest of the league holds teams like the Jets in the same regard. While the Bills have largely disappointed so far this year, there's still 3 games left to play before the postseason. I'm not sure how many people would say ending the year on a four game winning steak would be considered fizzling out, but I may be wrong. Granted it has yet to happen, although a win against the Pats this weekend makes it very probable. So many people speak as if the season is over and the Bills are just looking to close out the season with some positive momentum for next year. News flash; They're not! There's a very real chance they end up AFCE champs and the second seed in the playoffs. Anyway, I'd love to hear who's going to win the Superbowl this year since you so accurately predicted the demise of the Bills and I'd love to throw down some cash on that.
  23. Definitely. The AFC North and AFC West are brutal this year!
