I think it comes down to one thing, and that is we must split with the Patriots. A sweep of Miami and New York won't be easy, it's possible because neither team is excellent, but we haven't exactly exhibited that quality either. If we improve steadily threw out the season I think we can sweep the Jets and Dolphins, but what about the pesky Patriots? Even missing both coordinators, and having a host of injuries this is still a very good team. As it stands we would lose both, and even with a ton of improvement against the Jets and Oakland I give us little chance to win Sunday night in Foxboro (what evidence do we have that any Bills team the last 5 years could win this game?). That said we get New England in Buffalo, in the winter. Not like the Patriots don't know how to play in a cold climate, but that kind of weather can really be a wild card. Besides the weather if the Bills are still in it by the second New England game that means we have improved dramatically. If we can beat the Patriots in one of the two, and go 5-1 in the division we have a decent chance at the playoffs. In the meantime we need to hope New England struggles against our common opponents, because in the event of a division tie, and record tie, within the division it comes down to common opponents, not AFC record. Right now Buffalo is 0-2 against teams New England has played, or will play, and New England is 2-2 against teams Buffalo has played, or will play. That excludes division teams, as the Division tiebreaker is before the common opponent tiebreaker.

It did have the motion of a hyperextension, but I just thought it stretched a little past that. I would say the best case scenario is 5 weeks.

He's playing REALLY well though this season, and after watching a few Steelers games is a huge part of that team. People used to say Brady was overrated, and it was the system, But he just kept winning and Big Ben is doing the same thing. As for Maddox he didn't even come in when Ben got hurt, Batch did. So who knows what the deal is With Maddox right now.

Last minute of the Chargers game a helmet goes right on his knee. Looks like he tore a ligament for sure, that could really hurt the Steelers chances.

-Brian Finneran has got to have the best hands on the NFL. He's a very underrated player, reminds me a lot of Ed McCafrey -Drew Bledsoe is a great QB when he has time, but one of the worst when he doesn't. For those wishing he was still here consider the pressure being put on our QB's the last 6 weeks. -The win felt nice, and Holcomb played well, but despite his horrible play to much blame has been placed on JP. If you give this team the support of 18 penalties and 5 turnovers in New Orleans/San Antonio they probably win that game. Point is it's a team game and neither Holcomb or JP are good enough to win by themselves -The NFC South might force the NFL to change its playoff format. I know they probably won't change it, but the winner of this division won't be .500. It will be a disgrace for anyone of those teams to make the playoffs. They should have a rule that you need to be at least .500 to get in, and if not an additional Wild Card should be awarded. -Unless a college QB comes polished and "NFL ready" no team should take a QB in the first round. By polished I'm talking about only five or six guys deserving of that status in the last 5 years. Bring in a veteran and draft a QB in round 3 or later. Let him ride the pine, and develop in a pressure free environment.

Where's the Lindell Love
Mikie2times replied to CircleTheWagons's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This was a turning point kick for my confidence in Lindell. Even after the hot start he still wasn't kicking anything past 45, and none of the kicks were late pressure kicks. Then he missed last week and I really felt it killed any confidence the lackluster offense had. But his 47 yarder today accomplished two things, for one it was a distance he has struggled at, and two we had a ton riding on the kick. Big props to Lindell today -
3 points is a general rule of thumb but not always the case. For a really strong home team, or public team, you might see that figure raise a little, visa versa with a weak team. You also need to remember that the books job is not to accurately predict the outcome of the game; it's to predict what the public feels the outcome of the game will be. Public perception for both the Jets and Bills went up this weekend.
-
My guess would be Bills -3.5 After the TB win the Jets have about as much creditability as the Dolphins in the Publics mind. Factor in Holcomb getting the Win and it should boost the line up a point or so from the Dolphins game.

The Jets defense is still good, and you know Martin will see about 30 touches. I can't see Vinny doing much but the Jets are capable of beating us based on the first two things I mentioned. It's certainly a winnable game, and is a must win if we want to make anything of our season.

Holcomb, Bulger, Gannon, Delhomme, Maddox
Mikie2times replied to Mr. T's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Most that stuff happened in week 1 and we scored 22. I'm not discounting Kelly's play, he was very accurate, and moved the ball effectively especially in the first half. But he was also on the receiving end of the help you mentioned, and won't make enough of a difference if the Bills return to their form from weeks 2-4. My two main concerns with Kelly at this point is can he throw downfield, and will he have the arm strength to be effective in the windy cold days the Ralph always has late in the year. -
It's been awhile since I heard the announcer stutter when talking about the distance on Moormans kicks.

I never said I expect us to go two deep across the board, but having 1 backup guard and tackle that is a proven fill in is not going overboard. Preston seems like a serviceable G for the time being, and will probably start at C next year. But given how fragile the Tackle situation was to begin with I would have expected the Bills to have a serviceable back Tackle.

I've got three of those bastards if you need to borrow one.
-
It could have been, and had they called him down at first I'm sure the refs wouldn't have overturned it. The video was not conclusive enough to say if it was a fumble or not, so the call on the field prevailed. THANK YOU NFL GODS!!!
-
No doubt the defense made the play, and I credit them for that. I'm not tying to discredit the win, I just was getting that nauseas feeling Bills fans know to well. To take it a step further without the fumble JP might be starting again. The NFL is truly a game of inches.
-
Given the performance in the first 6 games it's difficult to get excited about the rest of the year. That said everybody was going Bills crazy during the win streak last season and the situation looked much worse. I just want to be able to watch meaningful games for as long as possible, and despite what we looked like so far the Bills could be tied for first next week and perfect in tiebreakers. If you would have told me at the start of the year that the Bills would be in that situation after 7 weeks I would have been a pretty happy about it.

A win is a win and it feels damn good especially against the Fish, but IMO without the fumble at the end the Dolphins score and win the game. The way that drive was going it just felt like it was destined to go against Buffalo, circa Jacksonville 2004, or the Tony Banks led drive from years ago. In your opinion does Buffalos defense still hold or would of the fish gone on to score without the fumble?
-
We did upgrade it, TD brought in Mike Williams (Hurt), Chris V (Hurt), Jonas Jennings (Gone), Bennie Anderson (Sucks), and Mike Gandy (decent at times, killed today). I'm not worried, we can just ignore it again this off-season and hope Jason Peters can turn things around.
-
I certainly posted on it in the past, but like I said a crusade will start if we don't address this issue. It's a damn travesty what we have invested in the line compared to what we invested in other positions. Drew's lack of mobility was the excuse last year, now you throw in a 4.6 guy in JP and nothing changes. When you have a huge line built for the ground game and you can't even do that well you know you have problems.
-
He also never got sacked, can you imagine a Buffalo team playing a defense like Philadelphia’s and giving up zero sacks? Drew’s far above average when he's protected and far below average when he's not. Sure that’s the case with many QB's but considering his faults and strengths it seems to apply even more with him.
-
We played Tampa Bay on the road for their home opener with Caddy in the lineup. Not exactly the same team/atmosphere the Jets got for today’s game. No NFL game is easy, but the Jets game is winnable, perhaps even more so then today’s game was.
-
We still get beat in TB without the Caddy playing.

Meshawn all up in Bledsoe's grill

Alligator skin? I thought his boots were made from the pubic hair of African queens -
Damn Jester sounds painful, glad you recovered. I really hope Donovan has the same fate, IMO one of the classiest players in the NFL.
-
I know we have some injuries, but when Greg Jerman is your backup to an often injured player then what’s that say about our depth? The guy won't even be in the league in two years for crying out loud. What more evidence do we need? Drew is lighting it up in Dallas with solid protection, indecisive or not a scrambling QB like JP still gets killed, Holcomb gets killed, we hardly ever convert on 3rd and 4th and short, the list goes on. We suck up front, and have for a long time. TD's answer is using 2 draft picks in the top 3 rounds over the course of all his drafts, and bringing in journeyman offensive lineman. I'm just sick of seeing this crap year after year.
