  1. Like everybody else I can't wait to see Roscoe play, but if the offense plays like it did today it won't make much difference.
  2. Looks like the NFC got the memo about them sucking last year.
  3. It was painful, I don't think I ever remember looking at a 2-0 score as being insurmountable. It really felt like it was today.
  4. The run d was bad, no doubt about that. It got compounded 8000 times over when we couldn't get a first down. Our vaunted defense looked average, and will continue to look like that unless the offense can give them a breather.
  5. Our defense is getting controlled all game by a offense that is not very potent, and while I recognize the fact that our defense has been playing all game I don't see many things changing this from happening as the season moves forward. You want a blue print to take down this team? To control our defense? It's obvious, play good defense yourself and run the football. You do those things against us and we will wear down game after game. This is a team sport and in order to have a defense perform at efficient levels we need the offense to stay on the field more then 3 plays. As for stopping the run we will either find a band aid for the problem or we will be in trouble. Unfortunately we play a team next week that runs the ball better then the Buccaneers do, and perhaps as good as anybody in the league, and oh by the way they have a hell of defense themselves. IMO we will see a very similar game as the one we just saw.
  6. Don't count me in with the people that expect a route. It's difficult to win when you don't score points, and I think that will be the case for both these teams on Sunday. TB won't move the ball on us, Cadillac or not they're a below average offense, and we make below average offenses look stupid. The same will go for our offense against Tampa Bay's D. I doubt JP is effective on Sunday, he won't be able to scramble and he will be under constant pressure. We have the edge on the ground and on special teams and that’s why I think we should win. The big wild card in all this will more then likely be turnovers. Both offenses are going to be overmatched, and turnovers will be a given. While trying not to sound cliché the team that takes turnovers and turns them into points will more then likely be the team that wins the game.
  7. I just finished up an article on fox sports about this years hottest coaching candidates. The list included fifteen future coaches, out of all fifteen guys Jerry Gray didn't even get mentioned. Is this guy serious? Gray coaches the second rated defense two consecutive years, and one that will likely hold the number one spot this year. In the history of this game only two other defenses have finished top three in total defense 3 straight years, the mid 80’s Bears, and the Ravens a few years ago. We nearly set a NFL record for fewest points allowed in the third quarter last year. On top of all that we force as many turnovers as any defense in this league. A stat not figured into defensive rankings, but critical to winning. We have plenty of talent but Gray's ability to make adujustments and implement our scheme play a huge role. Of course I want him to remain with the Bills, but I would also like to see him get the respect he deserves. Future Coaching Candidates
  8. Very good post, IMO this game comes down to special teams and turnovers. If it's a straight turnover free game I think special teams will put us over the top. But with the way these two defenses match up against the offenses you have to think a couple turnovers could play a major role. I just don't see many sustained drives for either team. Both teams will really need to shorten the field in order to be successful. I like our chances in a low scoring slugfest. Bills 13 Bucs 9
  9. They put it up under the forum, the title is Texans Bills highlights.
  10. By the way you need to change the file extension to wmv, and the creator appears to be JJamezz, so thank you JJamezz.
  11. Somebody at Bills Zone puts together a highlight real every week. I thought he did a great job last year, and the first one from the Texans game was pretty sweet. Check it out at the link below. Texans-Bills
  12. DE: Bruce Smith, Sestak DT: Ted Washington, Sam Adams OLB: Takeo Spikes, Biscuit MLB: Spielman CB: Clements, Byrd SS: Milloy FS: Vincent I also gave consideration to Fletcher at MLB as I think he could take Conlan or Speilmans place with no major drop off. With Fletcher I would have 6 players, without him "only" 5. Pretty damn impressive when you’re talking about the history of this franchise, its AFL glory days, and the Super Bowl run.
  13. Then proceeded to overthrow just about every receiver by 10 yards if he didn't roll out. Vick turns into a below average QB when you keep him in the pocket, statistics have proved that since he came in the league. Defenses with speed like Tampa’s have kept him in the pocket; they also usually force 2 or 3 turnovers against Vick. He will make some spectacular plays, but he will also fumble once or twice, throw a pick, and take to many sacks. Buffalo will shut him down.
  14. It was two things, JP being effective, and the Texans wearing down. They stacked the box early and it showed. After the 1st quarter with JP over 100 yards the Texans realized they would get torched if they kept bringing up the SS. From that point on the running game really opened up. It continued to get even better as the defense dominated the Texans offense. The Texans defense was on the field all game and it started to show late.
  15. Vick will make some plays, but IMO he is the most over hyped player in the NFL. He still can't make throws unless he has scrambled for so long coverage breakdown, and for the 5-6 spectacular plays he makes a game he makes just as many horrible ones. The Bills will fly around, utilize their team speed, and make Vick look like he usually does against top defenses, BAD. So I'm not worried about Vick, but I would be worried about Atlanta’s defense. They have been a sack machine the last couple years and looked stellar against the Eagle offense. This week JP and the offense will get a look at a great D, that should help our chances against Atlanta.
  16. Who knows, the disrespect factor was the only explanation I had but that doesn't explain why Atlanta was doing it. Maybe they were trying to form a circle for a dance off? As for Trotter it looked like he extended his hands toward Mathis to protect himself, not throw a punch. Pretty weak way to get the boot, if that happened to TKO or Fletch I would have been irate.
  17. Drew First 8 games- 2000 Yards 13 TD's 4 INT's Drew Last 8 games- 1200 Yards 6 TD's 13 INT's
  18. Anybody else notice in the second altercation how Philadelphia was stomping on the Falcons logo? I took it as them disrespecting Atlanta, and it appeared that Atlanta took it the same way. Surprised ESPN didn't pick up on that.
  19. If the Chiefs have a legitimate defense they are the best team in football, their offense is that good.
  20. I read that post among others, seems like a few of the more knowledgeable fans on that board have a ton of respect for the Bills. Then of course you have your homers predicting Carnell will get 100+ and the Bucs will roll over us. This is not an easy game for us as the Bucs do have a fantastic defense. It will probably end up in the teens, and will come down to which offense doesn't make the most game changing mistakes. Points off turnovers will be critical, and so will TOP. With two defenses this good it may come down to who wears out first. Bills 13 Bucs 6
  21. 1. New England- Until they prove otherwise they deserve this spot 2. Chiefs- The complete offense and a much improved defense. Ladies and gentlemen I introduce you to your AFC West Champion. 3. Pittsburgh- Same formula different year, Pittsburgh is going to be difficult to beat. 4. Indianapolis- Peyton is still Peyton and the defense looked very good, albeit against a horrible Ravens offense. 5. Buffalo- Same great defense, can JP continue to manage games? 6. Jacksonville- Making strides offensively, very solid defense. Does Fragile Freddy hold up? 7. Cincinnati- Carson Palmer is going to turn some heads this year, a team on the cusp of a wild card. 8. San Diego- Gates could help them leap frog a few teams down the road. I think the 2004 magic wears off and this team turns out .500 9. Ravens- The defense is truly special, but like 2004 they just don't have the offense to compete. 10. Jets- Atrocious start to the season, so many question marks that seemed to be working against them. This will be Edwards last year as head coach. 11. Raiders- Plenty of offensive fire power, they need to use Moss as a decoy to open up Jordan and Porter. Passing defense is not NFL caliber. 12. Dolphins- Powerful start to Sabans tenure. Ferotte will throw for some yards with those receivers and the defense is still pretty solid. 13. Broncos- Plummers inconsistency, and a the 2004 Browns DL will do this team in. The running game will keep them out of the cellar. 14. Texans- Looked lost in the opener, but Johnson and Davis should be able to get them 5-7 wins. 15. Browns- Let the rebuilding begin, slow start for Crennel but I see him being a solid head coach. Frye becomes the starter and the future later in the season 16. Tennessee- In just a couple seasons salary cap hell takes a perennial playoff team and turns them into the worst in the AFC.
  22. Oops I missed your post, just posted about the same thing.
  23. It will be a test no doubt. The Bucs still have one of the leagues best defenses, and being JP's first road game shouldn't make it any easier. That said C. Williams and the Bucs offense don't make me nervous. On the stat sheet Williams looked like he had a huge day in Minnesota. In reality he had about 75 yards in 26 carries before he broke a 75 yarder late in the 4th. The Bucs offense won’t put up more then 10 on us so it will be up to JP to limit turnovers, and keep the Bucs defense from becoming its best offense.
  24. Of course half the wall has already booked our SB tickets and the other half are getting pissed at the first half for being so optimistic. It’s one game, and it is early, but even the worst of the glass half empty crowd had to be impressed with this defense. Carr said this Bills defense "was the best defense I've played against." Week one or not that’s a bold statement. Carr’s been around a few years now and he has played enough games to not throw comments like that around loosely. This unit is going to be a blast to watch this year, enjoy it folks!!
  25. I just want to see if Maguire can start a sentence without saying “I'm gonna tell ya"
