Paul Maguire wants to tell you something

Did some of you guys finally have a revelation?

I'm starting to think it's a conspiracy with the way TD views offensive lineman. We just neglect the position so obviously year after year that I can't make any sense of it. Perhaps TD is playing the football business game more then the football winning game. After all skilled position players fill the seats, and get people excited. Lineman win games but aren't much fun to hear about on draft day. How else can we logically explain how we entered the season with this group of starters, or better yet with this complete lack of depth. When your one Tackle away from Greg Jerman the fans have every right to start asking questions. -
If TD knew what he was doing...

I used to buy into the Bills being good enough to win now theory but with the way they played the last two weeks that’s not true. In the NFL when you allow 200 yards rushing in a game you won't win. If we hold Atlanta or the Buccaneers to under 100 yards rushing like we did with teams all last year then we probably split those two games despite how poorly JP has played. For us to be a playoff team JP needs to improve, and improve a lot. But this defense and the offensive line also have to make giant leaps forward. Right now the only aspect of this team that has played at playoff level is our place kicker. -

Let's maintain some perspective here

JP has been bad and most of us expected that to happen. But you can't win in this league when you give up 200 yards rushing. The win percentage of teams that give up 200 yards rushing is probably under 10% if not lower. The plan was to be rock stars on defense and special teams and we could overcome JP's early struggles. As it stands even a very good QB can't overcome the amount of yards we have been giving up on the ground. If our defense played like it did last year we would be 2-1 right now despite how badly JP has played. We probably wouldn't be a playoff team, but we would win some ugly games. JP needs to play better to make us a playoff caliber team, but no matter how well he plays it won't matter unless this defense stops the run and gets off the field on third down. -
State of the Bills Version 2.0

I don't know anymore PTR, I just don't see us getting penetration with our interior line like we did last year. We have been killed by cutback runs, I will agree with that, but the defense just doesn’t look the same. I like being aggressive but not when it's out of control, and that’s what we looked like today. -
1. JP is not playing well, big surprise huh? He is young and obviously needs to improve. If we wanted to go with Holcomb this year we would have done it at the start. At this point JP is our QB and no matter how much you think you know football it's impossible to tell if he is going to be a player after just 3 games. 2. The offensive line is in shambles. Even when were healthy across the aboard we aren't very good. We have no depth, and haven't been able to pass block since the early 90's. Even the most TD obsessed fans can look at what he has invested in this line and puke. No early draft picks other then Big Mike and Jonas Jennings. Skilled players sell seats, lineman win games, I really wan to start winning games. 3. You can spin it or slice it anyway you want, we miss Pat Williams badly. How else can you explain us getting run on like we have? Every other starter returned from a unit that allowed one 100 yard rusher all last season. Now we get spanked for 200+ back to back weeks. We are overcompensating for the loss of Pat by Run Blitzing 75% of the time. That’s great when you get the penetration to disrupt the play, but if he don't your looking at a big gain.

Medical advice or not players know when they get hurt bad. Judging from the way Takeo reacted I would be surprised if it's anything less then season ending. It's a damn shame if that turns out to be the case.

It looked as if we didn't know what QB we were facing. I think it would have helped the situation if we blitzed less on third and used a couple of those blitzers to spy. You can't come flying in out of control when you blitz Vick, it's got to be about containment and control.

Not like I'm cashing in the season or renouncing my Bills Fandom. But in terms of us making it somewhere this year I just don't see it happening. We need to improve so much, even more so then last season. The injuries are mounting, our perceived strengths are turning out to be weaknesses, and the offense looks as bad as the Killdrive days. -

To bad the end of our schedule last season is like the beginning of our schedule this season. If we start off 1-3 we will be looking at 5-11 or worse at the end of the year. -

I feel the same way. I will never stop watching, and never stop cheering. But even if we did pull this one out we are not a playoff team. Our defense is porous, and the offense is about as lethargic as it gets. We will beat the cream puffs as we did during our winning streak last year, but we won't beat anybody good unless we improve drastically. -

I was thinking the same thing. By blitzing we have invited Vick to scramble up the middle. Why not play more containment with a spy? Blitzing obviously isn't working. -

I just wish we saw some improvement week to week. It's been downhill after the 1st quarter of the Texans game. Last week was a very difficult challenge for JP, but Rookie or not I expect him to perform better against this weak of a secondary. When you got Safeties playing Nickel you need to take advantage of it, right now we can't. -

If it's a rupture he's out for the year, no question about that. Julian Peterson suffered that injury last year and he was able to return this year, however I haven't watched the 49ers so I don't know if he is still the same player. Please just let it be a strain, PLEASE!! -

I'm worried, like you said he knew he was hurt. I think this is going to end up being a severe injury, cross the fingers. -

They didn't show the injury but Takeo threw down his helmet in anger. Looked to be a ankle or a knee, just the way he reacted and how he was carted off makes me think it's serious. Cross the fingers. -
