  1. Nah, Mormon. I'd have hid that disk in my dresser if that had happened to me at 14.
  2. Utah. We're talking Utah. I fully believe the kid probably got up and cried. Speak for yourself! I want to go find a copy of it. Think of the law suit I'd have against EA!! (I kid).
  3. 3,000 deaths. -Jeff
  4. Yes yes.... that's what I thought. Cell phone video.. nice. I'm sure Akbar went home and decided to post it on his MySpace.com account and tell all his friends about it.
  5. There's a cell-phone quality video floating around.
  6. Yeah, it's on Revver.com. Edit - For being so secret and whatnot, they let some guy in with a video cell phone?
  7. That's the same video that CNN/Fox have been showing.
  8. Looks like they took the family reunion photos down.
  9. Yeah 100% serious. I think that's more appropriate. I'm reading this CNN stuff now and I'm a bit taken back. Quite literally "Hussein Family Photos." Some of these captions are priceless, "Hussein Kame's wife Raghad and son Ali in her arms."
  10. Yeah, Fox refers to him as "Butcher of Baghdad" and the backdrop is a pile of skulls; no family pictures there. Bah, all of the news I need I get from Sean Hannity! (I'm kidding)
  11. I can buy that angle. Gear it towards a demographic and whatnot... yeah. It's not so much a belief based bias but a money backed bias. Sure. News agencies suck.
  12. Okay, WTF? I'm not one to think believe all of this media bias BS, but CNN.com has Hussein family photos on the front page and the same "obituary" photo it uses for everyone. Family photos? The guy was found guilty of crimes against humanity and they post family photos after his execution? Everyone feel sorry for him on the count of three! -Jeff
  13. What, no "the Bible" jokes?
  14. Buff downs Carolina 4-1 for the sweep. ALMOST a shutout, too...Kotalik hit the 4th in on a penalty shot. Edit... penalty shot was Kotalik and not Vanek.
  15. That has to be the funniest thread.... "This friggin' abortion." I'm laughing just thinking about it.
  16. My wife can eat candy all day long and wouldn't gain an ounce. That said, "I'm concerned about our health.. we should do more active stuff and eat better." WE WE WE WE WE. NEVER YOU. -Jeff
  17. I had the same problem. Started at about 18 when my parents got divorced. I've had heart monitors, head scans, ENT probes, blood tests... nothing at all physically wrong. They're like clockwork now whenever something that I'm not comfortable with happens. I can handle big meetings at the office because I've done them so much, but 1x1 with a new VP or perhaps driving into a new part of town that has very heavy traffic... that will trigger it. I've learned to deal with them by taking a few deep breaths, remembering it's all mental, and through preparation. Also, whenever you're going into a stressful situation. PREPARE. PREPARE. PREPARE. If you know you're heading into unfamiliar territory or you know you're heading into a situation that may cause the problem, be ready for it. Review it in your head a few times. Plan out how to handle the unexpected. Not only will you remain much more calm, you'll simply handle any situation better and more thoughtfully. I've taken medicine for them in the past. I've got it pretty well cracked now, so I haven't taken any in a while. -Jeff
  18. I can't do *anything* on a console. For some reason, I get headaches. The Wii is a bit different as it's more "involved" but everything else only lasts about 15 minutes. I haven't gotten that game installed yet with Christmas and whatnot I've been busy. One of these days. I wish there were more online military games like that. I like the historical ones. Fantasy games are getting *old*. -Jeff
  19. During my OS class I got extra credit for writing my programs in assembler on my macintosh while the class was taught in x86.... and I've seen naked woman!! Good stuff. If you're going to learn on the Windows platform, I'd suggest going after C# next. You can turn off pointers (they're off by default unless an 'unsafe' block) and it's very Java-esque. The .Net Framework has a lot of cool stuff in it that's already been done for you. I personally have been writing Python and Objective C code pretty regularly for the past year now. I've done Java and ANSI C in the pastl, along with a mix of scripting languages. I'm quite happy using these two now. I've even done a bit of Windows work, which has helped a lot in my understanding of the field in general. -Jeff
  20. 6-1... weak goal with Miller on his way back to the net.
  21. I forgot about Ghost in the Graveyard. I actually lived right on Abbott, not much "in the street" fun for me. Used to play hockey at friends' houses, though. -Jeff
  22. I've had it with online fantasy games so I've decided to give this a try. The installer id downloading now. Is anyone else playing this one? Recommendations? Thanks, Jeff
  23. If you're in Buffalo, I'm sure he'll understand.
  24. Yup, this sums up what I've been saying/feeling/thinking. People get defensive about this type of thing too.
  25. The PC junk has really screwed up everything. You've got one side with the "holiday tree" stuff and the other side over-sensitive to greetings and phrases have have been around for decades. I give up. Merry Christmas everyone. Time to stop arguing about it and go enjoy it! -Jeff
