Joe Brady playcalling has regressed massively. -

Drop by Cooper, 1st down. Drop by AJE, possible pick 6. Yep that's on Coach. Players need to make plays. -

This short game offense just isn't Josh. Get some more deep crosses/posts and then a check down to the RB/TE. 4-5 yards a pop passing just won't get it done. Dotn care if they're in 2 deep, need more intermediate to deep passing layers. -
Herbig is still out and their rookie starting center is banged up. Highsmith and Kazee come back this week. That should be a HUGE difference. Vegas is completely wrong on this matchup. Steelers matchup very well and with Russell back in at QB, I expect some early rust then a 2nd half going up by 6+.

Agree. Some misdirection and get to the edge against a stout middle DL. -
“Penalty will be accessed on the kickoff” so what?
MasterStrategist replied to stevestojan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yeah the NFL didn't think of this loophole. And if they did, their solution is very bad. I agree with those saying to "tack it on" to end of kickoff result. So touchback comes to the 45. Return and a holding penalty, net +5 from spot of foul...etc. Return for TD can nullify the penalty. This should be a rule modification that gets implemented, as soon as possible. -
Kicker Lucas Havrisik signed to PS
MasterStrategist replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall
Still holding out hope on Bass. But leash is shorter by the week. Let's hope this new kicker, albeit average at best, can be a sounding board/someone to pick up things from. Even the smallest technique/observation, might put Bass back on track. Mentally, it could help to have someone on the sidelines as well. We shall see, best case Bass gets back to his best form, but even if he can get more consistent that will be a plus. -
Haven't read every comment. But in the future, I hope Coach puts Hollins back deep and takes our 2 DTs off the field/rush with Groot and Aje. Also Bernard needs to be told to come up much faster once WRs clear him. No reason Groot or AJE should've been defending sidelines 10 yards downfield. That's like wasting 2 defenders. Put them up to rush and put Elam/Ingram in those spots, while Hollins deep for his height (or Keon).

I'm glad they made the move. Personally, I think leveraging any future assets to go all in this year is foolish. A 2-4 team, with a 40 yr old QB that's a major injury risk, just fired their head coach, demoted their O coordinator, poor OL/aging tackles. List goes on. Just don't think this moves the needle for them. We shall see, but I see them losing 2 of the next 3 and wheels start to fall off at 3-6.

Week 7 - Titans at Bills Game Week Thread
MasterStrategist replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
I don't think there is anything to read into Coachs interview. Our offensive identity this season won't change. We just have a much better option for Josh. Just McD style to stay even keeled and focus on this week at hand. Hines was a special situation IMO. First, he was a hybrid/3rd down type of back in a somewhat crowded room. 2nd, Dorsey was clueless on how to use him (or any of our backs in general). 3rd, I dont think Dorsey had Josh looking to check down much. It took Brady taking over to finally unlock more of Cooks potential, and have Josh be more balanced with risk taking/being ok with the 5 yard drop off. It's a more efficient brand of football and less turnovers. All that to say, Cooper will be easier to integrate. He'll need to ramp up/learn the playback, but will get more acclimated each week. 1 or 2 explosive plays a week, would be nice to see (20+ yards) and is a fair expectation until the bye. -
Jets are really kicking alot of $$$ down the road. Re structured Adams deal, with 2 void years. It will be an ugly collapse at some point soon.

Dion Dawkins *really* hates the Jets
MasterStrategist replied to Einstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
Dion has been a consistent pro, on and off the field. He's certainly a top 10 LT, if not top 5 range. Unselfish and great leader. Horrible troll job. Maybe go back to the kitchen/your food threads, that's more your realm. -
10/14/24 Game 6 Bills at (NJ) Jets MNF Post Game thread
MasterStrategist replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
100% agree. That's why I said "contain" us. Made a key stop in redzone, rest was our own mistakes and/or poor officiating. Agree about the refs. We also shot ourselves in the foot. Dion penalty, too many false starts/illegal formations. Brown call was atrocious by refs. So yes, a mix of bad officiating and poor discipline. Jets didn't stop us, contained us is maybe generous. Refs + self inflicted. Thought this was a good gameplan by Brady. Very promising to see our OL come out and dominate. -

Some questionable penalties, mistakes on both sides, both kickers struggled with wind...this is where better team finds a way to win an ugly game. This game was 20-10, fluke hail Mary and the roughing the passer, made it 20-20. Jets found a way to contain us in 2nd half, but make no mistake our defense stepped up in 2nd half as well. -

Need to win ugly games. Puts Jets back where they belong, and we're sitting in a good position. Ray Davis looks like he's ready to start taking more snaps from Cook. Finally a nice 1-2 punch. Still need another WR, but this defense looked good when it counted... missing Milano, Ed, Von. -
Who would be up for trying a 22 formation on offense?
MasterStrategist replied to SoonerBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall
I don't know about 22 personell in a traditional sense (I formation and 2 TEs). But if they put Gilliam or go 13 personell with Morris that works. Gilliam is not going to add much as a blocker from FB role. Alec Anderson should never be seeing the field on 1st or 2nd down, unless we're in the redzone. A team that already lacks explosive plays, we're telegraphing run and have no threat of playaction to him. This offense needs more misdirection looks, jet sweep motions/handoffs. More playaction under center. Basically we bring in a Swiss army WR/RB and don't use him in the most basic of plays (jet sweeps) yo give him looks and make the LBs hesitate when we fake the motion/hold DEs outside too. Playaction attack to our TEs or a check down to our group of solid receiving RBs, just isn't happening enough. Some on Josh playing horribly, like this past weekend, and some due to playcalling. We need to get those easy 6-8 yard completions on 1st down and put us in better late down situations/ability for shot plays. -
Yes, 2 missed TD throws...this 2nd one was a more challenging throw but one most good QBs can make. Problem is he overthrew/bad placement on the Hollins shot, so looked like he took something off this throw/guarantee was in his head. Just not a great game by Josh this week, after being nearly unstoppable in September.
