    Right on...we would think that McDermott had already gone this route from the beginning. Sounds like he is reaching in to his toolbox.

    It was an alarming expression of violence on Garret's part. A little excessive for the situation. Kind of scary...perhaps it warrants a psychological evaluation.

    Or the 2002 draft. The Bills drafted OL Mike Williams. He was a bust, and the Bills could of had Ed Reed! Everyone just knew that Maybin would be a bust...yet they drafted him anyway!

    If Hauschka makes that field goal, the conversation changes. The Bills would have won, but it would have further repressed the need for improvement on both sides of the ball. How many more wake up calls do the Bills need?.

    Yes! In this business, you are not called upon very often. This team is only asking you for a few months of your time. Plenty of time to prepare and be your best. No excuses...and you are paid well.

    You are right. In the early days, Bruce was still learning. Van Miller referred to him as the snow plow in short yardage situations as a goal Line fb!

    This is nothing new. We will continue to see players such as Newton. Sometimes a necessary part of the food chain to keep things in perspective.

    Well that kind of self expression is nothing new. There have always been "colorful" athletes. Some guys can pull it off without any criticism. The world is far more analytical and therapeutic today...everyone is under the microscope with more scrutiny today.

    Athletes are human just like us, and are probably more prone to stressors than the average person. The pressure to perform and win, win, win! Being self confident and cocky are great defense mechanisms.

    Yeah, there is something psychological there. Chronic need for affirmation and attention. It appears to border on narcissism. It is amazing how common this is, yet when an individual is in the limelight...it is so apparent. Fame sometimes aggravates a pre existing condition.

    Or if a team is certain it is a player or two away...there is a Bruce Smith sitting there.
