BillsBlue replied to ChicagoRic's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm just gonna put this here I'm quoting myself from the thread I started that was merged earlier this afternoon about what I would do if I was coach and I posted that a few hours before videos are being posted of Duke and ja in practice getting ready for Sundays game ?? Just been feeling it lately Dukes what we've been missing on the boundary and across the middle ? -

Exactly basically someone who can help Josh Allen's flaws be minimized is what we need . The kid needs his Eric molds, or plax, or Mike Williams etc -

I know it's gotten a lot of attention but it needs more attention I feel it's the key to the playoffs and for Josh's development -

Honestly I feel Duke could possibly push smoke to #2 and Beasley to #3 in targets/ work load especially inside the 20 I know it is but I feel it's not getting enough attention we desperately need a big bodied possession type red zone threat/ guy who actually looks behind him to locate the deep ball and adjust and can make 1 handed/contested catches it's obviously what Allen's game needs it aligns with his skill set perfectly Akin to plaxico and young eli -

Or at least going into the bye that would be better anyhow giving them time to get him practice with Allen and to design a few nice plays to get him open. -

I would bring up Duke over Zay Jones and tell him "Duke this is your shot show us the best football you've ever played in your career against the Titans, we're going to start you opposite smoke and throw it your way 8-10 times in the game. If you can hold up your end of the bargain and produce you're starting again after the bye"? We don't need to trade for another wide out and waste Beanes prescious draft capital this guy just needs a shot, throw him some deep shots and some redzone work and see if he can change the offense and take the heat off Brown. We want to see someone with hands here he is. Watch his college highlights so I don't have to hear you whine about his running starts in the cfl and him not being able to translate to the NFL. The big thing I see in his college highlights is he caught many poorly placed slightly innacurate balls and always fought to help his qb unlike Zay Jones. This kids strengths align with what Allen needs in a Wr at this stage in his growth. -
Make the trade for Stephon Diggs

That would be one hell of a set up on offense ? ? -
I was a "nose-guard"(nose tackle) for training camp/ up until a week before the season(made the team/made it through cuts) for the semi pro Glens Falls Green Jackets here in upstate ny. I was doing well and at one point blew up double teams in 11 on 11 and "sacked the qb((tapped him out))" 5 times in a practice. Thats how I made the team hehe ? During the last practice I pulled my groin and my hamstring trying to beat a double team again (my job every down) and between the bruising on my head from the impacts and my groin and hammy i called it quits( I was about 23 years old). I'm 6'1" and and was about 13% body fat at 280 lbs benching 300 lbs squating 350 and deadlifting 500 lbs for 3 reps raw( I was a power lifter/body builder who was called by the coachs assistant as a player knew me from the gym((prior nfl practice squad player/college coach))..........

Imo I didn't see anyone getting open for Allen at all for 90% of the first half, then we made adjustments towards the end of the first half and came out moving the ball and completing passes the second half and we gained momentum then they took Allen out. This kid is a gamer he plays his best with the game on the line and we were about to see it unfold again he does this often and he got his stride and got hot only to get knocked out. I still there no this kid has it, remember he's throwing to all new players mostly, who's the holdover?? Zay?? Cmon man he's still below 16 starts he's about to turn the corner imo, remember how well he played after injury last year ??
-
My honest opinion is this, he's on the cusp of getting to the next level, he just needs to turn the corner and learn that certain throws ie when he's on his back foot or falling backwards are just plain not an option(also throws into double coverage), if he cuts these out of his game and we can also have him throw with Duke a ton (I want Allen inactive next week and basically effectively benched to learn his lesson about playing hero ball and just toning it down a smidge) and get ready for the game after the bye(obviously I want Zays snaps given to Duke from the game after the bye onwards) and we should sit singletary till then too imo to come out hot and make a major playoff run the rest of the year. It's a rare opportunity to bench Allen without controversy with a perfectly acceptable excuse so he can watch a game from the sideline picking dabolls mind and correcting his thought process via mental snaps.

What a tough way to lose the game!!!! Roast me, call me crazy but I've seen it in every 4th q comeback he's had all of a sudden he hits a groove and starts making plays left and right. It started to happen at the last bit of play before the 2nd q ended, Allen figured out their defense and started going to work. He came out in the third quarter and put in work and by the end of the third quarter it was evident he was putting the team on his back and willing another 4th q comeback. Hell I'd bet anything that he would've gotten into the endzone on 1 of the 3 or 4 chances Barkley had when he ran out of downs. At the end of the day New England knew they had to knock Allen out of the game once he got rolling. In summation- If Allen wasn't cheap shotted we win that game. Does he need to change his decisions and not throw off his back foot while being hit??? Yes, is he as clutch as it gets when the game is on the line??? Absolutely Ps- Gore should've gotten more touches, Knox needs to be fed he has hands of glue, bring up the Duke and bench Zay(ps I was a big Zay supporter in the past).

Hi all not sure if anyone else noticed it but things were getting a little chippy between John brown and I think(I may be mistaken) Williams the db who was covering him often. I saw the same db take a cheap shot out of bounds on smoke and then a play or 2 later once they were out of bounds after a catch by smoke you see him punch the guy in the throat hard and the db went down and seemed hurt(I was waiting for a flag). Anyone else catch this?? This team doesn't play scared we are becoming the bully, I'm sure you've noticed how hard and violent our team plays in general we have been out "physicalling" the teams we've been playing the last handful of games and it's refreshing!!!! Cheers all?

I'm with it Tatonka, I think Josh is our next generational talent at qb and that we will ride him into the promise Land jmo but the kid has better tools than any qb before him physically and he's showing the never say die mentality and plays his best football when it counts, when this kid puts it together he's going to be hard to stop not to mention our elite defense ?

Are you drafting any Bills to your fantasy football team?
BillsBlue replied to Logic's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I got Allen late as my backup to mahomes and I got shady late and also grabbed john brown late too....had an early draft because some people had vacations etc to go on lol -
Ok so Jack Kemp is one of my favorite stories to get my grandma (80 years old) to talk about. My grandma HATES Jack Kemp. She was the head of the womens bussiness society(not sure exactly how to word the association) in Buffalo back in the 70s because she was in an executive position with blue cross blue shield in Buffalo and that was rare at the time for a woman to hold such a position at that day and age. She had to work with Jack for development of a bill or something to that effect back then and she says he was the most smug and arrogant "prick"" she ever met in her life. She had to go to dinners with him etc multiple times and he hit on her and was a pig apparently lmfao. So whenever Jack Kemp is brought up in the household a little fire shows in her eyes and she tells the story!!! real life right here folks can't make this up ?
