Kind of hoping the Ravens start to look good, the Jackson haters on this board are ridiculous.

The Ravens needed to get a legit WR, we’ve seen how important that is around the league this season.

This is so fun to watch, I’ve really become a new school football fan. I was bored with the Brees vs Rodgers matchup last night, nothing against those guys, but seeing all the new blood at QB around the league is just fun.

You’re definitely in the minority, but I agree. I have no desire to attend a half baked version of what going to a football game should be. I just can’t be excited because I’m watching on TV anyway, and 7K fans on television means nothing to me. Once things return to normal, I’ll be ready to attend a football game. I really don’t even see the point of going through so much work just to allow a few thousand fans. Going to a football game isn’t that important to me right now, I’m content watching on television. I also think fans overrate how much players actually care about their presence. That is another story in and of itself. Players love the adulation because they’re human, but I don’t think players are losing sleep looking at empty stands with millions watching on television, and they still get paid. I’m not denying the energy the Bills Mafia provides for home games, but the emotional aspect of fanhood being important is more of a fan thing than a players thing.

I wouldn’t write Brees off either, he can be successful with no arm because that offense has the talent to make it work. However, I’m confident saying Brees has no arm, or ability to push the ball downfield. They’re still contenders because they have a ton of talent, but his game is limited at this point imo. Brees limitations might not hurt him much though, it is too early to tell.

Drew Brees at this point in his career is what Trent Edwards would have been if he were actually good. Absolutely no ability to push the ball downfield.

Correct, if you want to get him the ball that’s ok, but put him in as WR or RB. Brees is a HOF QB, why sit the old man on the bench when he’s loose and in a groove ? It just seems so unnecessary, and it happens every game.

I’ve been critical of Beasley, and some of his drops in the past. He wasn’t what I expected based on what I saw in Dallas. Now that our offense has it together, he looks exactly like the guy I expected from Dallas. I assumed the Daboll offense would have a huge role for a slot receiver like Beasley. It appears we are seeing the full extent of that role this season. Having Diggs on the outside has really helped Beasley excel in that role, and he’s cleaned up some of his mistakes. He’s been great.

I’m not discounting those wins. I’m just saying that wins like today are a continued step in the right direction. The Cowboys and Steelers were both 8-8 teams in 2019, while the Rams were 9-7 and just removed from a Super Bowl appearance. I don’t see anything wrong with saying this win could be of greater quality than those. The Steelers and Cowboy wins were huge, and I was on this board saying that at the time. Those wins never happen during the drought years. Fortunately, the drought years are no longer the measuring stick, real success is. The Rams played like the elite offense they’ve shown to be in the past, and we still won. This season I believe that we can compete with anyone. I didn’t sincerely feel that way after those big wins last season. The fact that this win makes me feel like we’ve arrived more than a win over Duck Hodges, isn’t a slight against how big that win was at the time. It’s just an indication that I’m seeing this team continue to grow.

Those were big wins without question, they proved we were heading in the right direction. However, the Boys are mediocre and the Steelers weren’t going anywhere with Duck Hodges last year. They were both big road wins that proved we weren’t the same old Bills, but the Rams are a few years removed from a Super Bowl. They have a great offense with some big time defensive players. The Steelers and Cowboys weren’t exceptional at any particular phase of the game last season imo.

Really just a great win, we haven’t beaten a real contender in years. Obviously, there are some things I’d like to improve on, but what a great 3-0 start. My greatest concern from that game was listening to the radio broadcast of Murph and Tasker, since I was on the road. It was absolutely brutal. Tasker stutters constantly, and talks about plays that happened three plays ago in the present tense, while Murph kept referring to “Cooper Kupp under center”. Hopefully I never have to that listen again.

Very true, we have an elite CB, along with two great safeties. However, I do think the lack of a depth at CB2 causes a matchup nightmare against someone like the Rams.

Agree, that’s beyond the Rams having a great offense. It’s a greater problem that needs to be addressed. The Rams scored fast and frequently, defense scheming alone should be enough to avoid such a fast defensive collapse, even if you are overmatched.

For me it’s all about how this offense has grown. They’ve been one of the best in the league, and Josh looks like the real deal. You couldn’t say he officially arrived last year. The NFL is all about offensive football (although I wish the defense would improve a bit), and we know there’s always a chance if Allen has the ball at the end of the game. The Ravens game last season is a great example of how things have changed. Our defense couldn’t totally shut them down, as we expected them to do most other weeks. Our offense had the ball in their with a chance to win towards the end of that game, but couldn’t quite get it done. This season they’re getting it done, without the necessity of a dominant defense. Dominant defenses don’t win championships in this era. You need an elite offense, with a defense that’s good enough to hold leads. We’re seeing a potentially elite offense forming, that’s why this feels different.

Rams are a great offense, but I don’t like using that as an excuse. We will face many great offensive teams. I’m most concerned with a once great defense making a habit of blowing big leads. It happened against the Texans in the playoffs, and we saw it again today. The NFL has become an offense first league, teams are going to score points. You still have to be good enough to protect big leads though.

The NFL doesn’t even follow their own catch rules. It’s just random choice at this point, and it’s ridiculous.

I forgot it was against the Rams, I just remember him leaping into the stands, and the fans didn’t catch him.

Never thought I’d see that day. Too bad Lee Smith can’t jump in the stands. I’ll never forget that.

We need to start recognizing how good Singletary is. Nice play calling from Daboll also, he’s really changing my perception of him over the past few weeks.

It looks like what the Brady Bunch family would have lived in if they bought a mansion. Very dated, yet doesn’t have the classic charm of old mansions from decent eras of architecture. I went into it not expecting to be critical, man was I wrong.

The Giants are a poorly run franchise, and I just didn’t like the Daniel Jones pick from the beginning. Drafting an NFL QB is a total crapshoot based mostly on luck. However, I agree with your assessment that Jones is too limited. He doesn’t have the ceiling that great QB’s have. I think the best he could ever be is a mediocre starter. He’s not a guy I would have attempted to build a franchise around, but I suppose Barkley was that guy for the Giants in many ways, because we all know you build a franchise around a RB. Barkley is an immense talent, but the Giants should have been drafting a QB when they picked Saquon.

Football Hall of Fame ? That’s a huge no. Fan Favorite Hall of Fame ? Certainly. You couldn’t build a QB in a lab with more fan favorite attributes than Fitz.
