They would be wise to try and extend Williams now. It would be nice to tag him for a year but they make no distinction between LT and RT so that is not going to work. Best guess is that Milano and Williams will be gone. They will keep Feliciano. They will draft OT in top 3 rounds next year (along with two front 7 defenders) and give Ford another shot to win RT spot.

There is no denying a bend but don’t break strategy can work against many teams. But the OP is correct. Against a team that can move the ball at will giving up a few chunk plays is worth the risk of forcing negative plays and turnovers. I hope they stay aggressive but also understand there is a time and a place to play it safe. No sense letting bottom tier offenses like Patriots, Jets, Broncos, and Dolphins get big plays when it is more than likely they can’t sustain long drives. But if they want to beat KC, Pittsburgh, and Arizona they need to play like they did last week. Bills had the most short field scoring opportunities in one game than I can ever recall thanks to defense and Andre Roberts. All in all Rex is not bad as a commentator. I thought that last year as well.

A Bills TE has never made the ProBowl. Not one since 1960. Some dumb DC would look at his speed and have him drop in coverage too often. Hopefully just like LT did, he would ignore the play call and just rush the passer As an athlete, OJ would be comparable given the size and power he had to go along with his speed. I think coaching is in his blood. As a GM he has done a good job of jettisoning players before they decline. As a GM his drafts have been so so but no better or worse than any other.

The big question will be do the Bills take a chance and push off the extension until after the fourth year. They have the leverage of the 5th year option. With COVID-19 the cap may stay flat or fall and it might be advantageous for both parties to wait another year.

If they won XXV, they would not have gone back. Think of the incredible things that had to happen for them to make it back.. The comeback, Kelly’s injuries, the Broncos championship game where they only scored 10 points. Just don’t see them willing themselves to victory if they had already won it all. And if Wilson had a SuperBowl win do you think he would have kept spending?

I’m not saying intangibles don’t mean something. But accuracy, intelligence, arm strength are far more important. If you don’t have those three, intangibles get you guys like Fitz or even worse Peterman. Maybe they are good competitors but they are flawed QBs. Guys like Brady, Montana, Manning, Elway, and Young have intangibles because they check the box on accuracy, intelligence, and arm strength first. I understand your point. But the counter argument is the retread white coaches that have repeatedly failed getting multiple chances. Adam Gase is just the most recent example. The solution will come from cultural change not from legislation or policy.
