  1. Wow, so according to this scenario there’s at least 2 QB’s taken in the top 10 picks. If Denver is “locked in” on Lock it probably means they aren’t the only team interested in drafting him. That could make the #10 spot a very interesting spot for a trade
  2. I don’t think it’s a flat rim by design. It just looks really new. The letter don’t look anything like the Bills logo font we are used to
  3. Because the poll becomes an easy decision. Of course, if I put Wade on the list everyone would choose him. There’s would be NO discussion at all. Choosing from several sub par is much more arbitrary and a better topic to discuss
  4. In browsing for classic Bills hats, I came across a very unique design - a hat with two capitol B’s for Buffalo Bills. The colors are red, white and blue still but the only Bills logo you see is on the back. If I didn’t know any better I’d assume this was a Red Sox Cap or a knockoff generic hat. But it’s an officially licensed New Era hat I do vaguely remember these hats but can’t find any information. According to the link below it is from the New Era Throwbacks Collection. Still I just find it odd, because I can never remember a time when the Bills used this BB logo. What’s even more strange is the fact that the style of the “B” is not the same as the letters in the traditional Bills logo. It’s a thin and completely different font style Does anyone know more about these hats and why New Era would produce a hat with a logo that the team never used? https://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-VINTAGE-90s-BUFFALO-BILLS-NFL-NEW-ERA-CLASSIC-COLLECTION-SNAPBACK-CAP-HAT-/302987200641
  5. I remember Howard Simon who was almost crying on the air the morning that they drafted Allen. Then you had guys like Jeremy White and Mike Schopp who complained for days because they wanted Rosen and Lamar, respectively.
  6. I love how I created a poll and people are trying to tell me who I should have added SMH
  7. Why is this so hard to understand!?! It’s not every ex coach just the ones I chose to Use
  8. Yes that is my thought. People don’t understand there’s a reason why I didn’t include Anthony Lynn it Wade Phillips. That’s because they are easy choices and better options. The reason I chose though ex Bills coaches is because they aren’t very good. It makes the decision harder Why is this so hard to understand!?!?’b
  9. Wade was not on the list, because he would be the obvious choice. Same thing for Doug Marrone. The poll would be much easier if their names were included p I only included the unsuccessful coaches No he shouldn’t because he would win hands down
  10. Yes I get that this premise is ridiculous but the answers and rationale will probably be really funny. Lets say Sean McDermott wakes up tomorrow and realizes his heart isn’t into football. He resigns and the Bills can only select a FORMER Bills head coach to replace him. Who do you choose and why? This is some lost fans Gregg Williams Mike Mularkey Dick Jauron Perry Fewell Chan Gailey Rex Ryan I am sure most people will take Gregg’s since he’s the only coach on the list that’s still working at the defensive coordinator level. Would it be crazy to want to Chan another shot? Yes I know he’s 70 or so, but with a strong defense I think he’s the best shot,
  11. Well I think the problem with the Bills, specifically, has been bad hiring and not knowing what to look for in effective football people. They seemed to have been swindled by poor hires and bad decisions and I bet they know it, which is why they had been talking to Polian in 2016. My hope is that they made a good choice in Beane and McDermott and can finally have the success and stability the team has been chasing for 20 years
  12. I think you are being a little unfair when speaking about senior executives, at least on the Bills behalf. It clearly is not “turnover for turnovers sake” like you have opined. The firing of the Bills executives were moves that needed to be made, and very few in the NFL disagreed. Did you honestly expect the Pegulas to keep Russ Brandon employed in 2019, given the nature of some of the allegations which came out? Also this is without any damming information in Brandon which was apparently unearthed during their investigation. I am sure they wanted to keep Brandon from a business standpoint, he was good at his job, but this was a move that needed to be made. Doug Whaley - I didn’t feel that Whaley was a very good GM. His record and the salary cap speaks for itself. Yes there were factors blah blah blah.... but do you really see this as an egregious firing? It’s telling how no NFL team touched Whaley in the 2 years since he left Buffalo and he was exiled to ventures outside of the league. Rex Ryan - Do you really fault PSE for firing Rex Ryan? By all accounts he was a failure and embarrassed the organization. We’ve seen owners keep bad coaches under the false premise of “continuity.” It wasn’t working with Rex and I give the Pegulas credit for starting over. The Sabres and PSE stuff, I’m not as well-versed I’m so I won’t comment with very much insight. Maybe you’re right there. I won’t fault the Pegula’s the same way you have, and I feel you are being unfair and grasping for straws by lumping in the Bills firings. Where I do agree with you, is that Terry and Kim have made some mistakes as owners. They hung on to Lindy Ruff for too long, should have fired Doug Whaley and brought in a GM in January of 2017, and were easily swindled (along with Russ and Whaley) by Rex Ryan. But again, to their credit, when they recognized that they made a mistake, they ate the money, took the lumps, and started over. The team was also horrible in 17-18. I am sure that fans didn’t have a ton on interest in renewing season tickets
  13. The Ralph is Cheap stuff was legit. He spent money on players, only because he had to (salary cap). He was notoriously cheap with hiring both coaches, GM, and front office personnel. He was reluctant to give up the money and the control in the modern NFL. Thats why we ended up with the likes of Duck Jauron as Head Coach and unqualified people like Marv Levy, Russ Brandon, and 70 year old Buddddd Nix as GM. Russ literally didn’t want to hire anyone he didn’t know. Major damage was done to Buffalo’s reputation to the point that Russ Brandon basically admitted it “the brand has been tarnished.” Wilson’s one exception was the time when he was desperate to make a splashy hire after John Butler and Wade Phillips told him to stick it. He hired the NFL’s top candidate as GM in 2001 in Tom Donahue. He paid him more money and gave him the most control that he ever had with a President title. Things didn’t really go great as the Bills never were better than mediocre despite some big personnel moves. Worse, Donahue reportedly was a tyrant and created a toxic environment. Everyone at OBD was reported to be miserable. In my mind, Ralph said “never again! From now on I’m only hiring people I personally know and have worked with before.” Say what you will, but during this time period Ralph was a terrible owner and did an incredible amount of damage to this franchise
  14. These reasons where stereotypes of the the Bills for many years. Now people know that the Bills are owned by a billionaire, have a solid front office, well-respected coach, and a QB who is trending upward is helping to change perceptions. If they can put together some wins, it will only help that much more. What hurts Buffalo worse than other small market teams are the incredibly high state taxes in NY. I believe out of all NFL franchises, New York (Buffalo) is the 5the highest for state tax. A far contrast to another small market like Jacksonville where there is NO state income tax! When guys are making millions of dollars, the high tax rate ends up costing you. So in theory, you could end up taking a “pay cut” signing with Buffalo when you factor in taxes. Of course there’s a lower cost of living in Buffalo which should be factored in as well. So when people talk about Buffalo being in a tough spot for FA’s it’s not just the tired narrative that “players won’t come to Buffalo.” There’s a lot of factors to consider. Graham also has written about this in a column at The Athletic
  15. Exacty.... people make cryptic statements then don’t elaborate. I’m skeptical about any of these claims since the Dunkirk Don fiasco
  16. How did you see the texts? A number of factors have to be right... Jauron was an inspiring choice and Gailey was just terrible hire.
  17. I didnt realize it was forbidden to talk about anything that wasn’t 2019 related....
  18. I never said Bills fans weren’t happy, but this was an interesting story. Last time I checked, it’s ok to talk Bills history on a Buffalo Bills message board
  19. On his podcast which you can hear below, Tim Graham discussed 2 major coaching who almost came close to coaching in Buffalo. I’ve never realized these names were so close to signing, and it makes you wonder what could have been. Sean Payton According to Mike Rodak (Graham’s co-host), Sean Payton said that he wanted to coach in Buffalo. According to MR Payton flew into Buffalo to interview for the coaching position in 2005 with Marv Levy. Unfortunately Marv took Dick Jauron instead. Like most of the decisions Marv made as GM, this one was terrible. Payton even then, was known as a great QB coach. It really makes you wonder what he would have done with the QB position, whether he tried to make JP work or if he’d seek out a new QB like a Drew Brees etc. Mike Shannahan According to Graham, Buddy Nix went on record that he has 2 big name coaches close to being signed but “couldn’t convince their wives to move to Buffalo.” While he wouldn’t give Tim any names, TH said that Shannon went on record that he almost coached in Buffalo and speculated that Shanny was one of the names Nix alludes to. Instead, Buddy signed an unwheming candidate Of Chan Gailey and I remember being physically sick hearing this news. In my opinion, this could have been Buddy trying to create the narrative of “I tried but no one would come to Buffalo.” Also if you turn down multi-million job offers because of your wife’s preference of location (for part of the year), it makes me question how serious you were from they start. Either way it would be fascinating to see how things shook out under new ownership. 20. Who the hell is Tony Pauline? Isn’t he that guy with no credibility that people were complaining about last year?
