I have 5 boxes of the Flutie Flakes myself. Hopefully 1 day those of us that have them will all get sick together :P

Five!  I figured my ONE box was a valuable collectors item.  Now I'm thinking it's worth about $2.99 as there are probably about 100,000 boxes sitting in food pantry's all across Western NY.

Hell if the apocalypse happens civilization will be reborn by those of us eating our Flutie Flakes when the food runs out.

I do whatever it takes to superstitiously give the Bills a win. Everybody should eat their box of Flutie flakes when we make a run at the playoffs. And endure the pain. The symbolism is just so poetic. The Flutie benching.. the drought. Those f***ers need to be eaten to rid ourselves of that past chapter.

Okay you convinced me.  When the Bills make the Super Bowl I'm breaking out the Flutie Flakes!

As do I! And I got grounded for sneaking to the pantry to try to eat then because I loved Flutie and I loved frosted flakes.

The night my parents caught me trying to eat a cerimonial box of cereal, berating me over my 11 year old life decisions, and putting the Flutie flakes where I couldn't reach em.. that was the day I learned what it really meant to be a Bills fan boys. I'm opening up my soul here.

And I still have those f***ing Flutie flakes. And I'll eat those f****ers when we make a SB to end the curse. And I'll probably have food poisoning during a bills SB.

I don't know about eating those things - can you imagine what might be growing among the flakes after all these years!

I still don’t get why you think it’s weird. The Bills traded the pick to KC that was used to select Mahomes, rather than take a QB that the franchise desperately needed. This will be a thing with Bills fans for a long long time and the reason is rather obvious. It’s not any different than what you describe with Jackson and Rosen. The Bills chose to trade rather than draft Mahomes. Allen is obviously a part of it because he plays QB.

    To be clear:

    *  I think the obsession with Mahommes by some Bills fans is weird because there's nothing that can be done to change what happened.  It's water under the damn bridge.  If NFL front offices knew that Mahommes would have the year he's having now he would have been the #1 pick in the 2017 draft.  That he wasn't is simply a testimony to how smart Reid is when it comes to QB's.

    *  But NONE of this has anything to do with Allen.  The Bills did not pick Allen over Mahommes they picked Allen over Jackson & Rosen.

That's silly. Allen was trending toward being the number 1 pick in the draft then. There's no way the Bills could have been confident they could get him.

Are you saying that Allen was trending to be the #1 pick in 2018 in 2017?  I watched a couple of games of his while at Wyoming and while the talk was about his great potential I don't remember anyone saying that he was in the running as the top pick.

I could be wrong but Allen flew up the draft chart after he started working out for teams and they saw first hand his elite arm talent and how after just a little work with Jordan Palmer had significantly improved his footwork.  Mahommes had completed his first year in the NFL at the time that anyone started to seriously suggest that Allen might be the top pick.  As it was two QB's went ahead of Allen.

No, they didn’t think Tyrod was good enough and wanted him to take a big pay cut. They passed because of their screwed up management , going into the draft with a new HC and a lame duck GM that should have been fired already. Anyway, it’s old news. You are correct that it doesn’t put any pressure on Allen, though. He just has to win, not match stats.

Exactly right.  Sure blame the Bills management for this, though it doesn't change a thing, because no matter how much we wish Mahomes played for the Bills, he never will.  More importantly, Allen is not part of this discussion.  The Bills did not choose Allen over Mahommes.  They choose Allen over Rosen & Jackson and if either of these two start playing like Mahommes then Bills fans can B word & moan.  Right now it just strikes me as a weird obsession.

Of course it does.  The trade was Mahomes for Tre White and Josh Allen.  Would anyone besides Bills fans think that was a good trade?  Allen needs to be a franchise level qb at worst for it not to be an awful trade.  And that’s with White being an awesome cb.

No it wasn't.  When Mahommes was drafted we didn't even know Allen was coming out for the 2018 draft.  Had Allen not impressed the Bills prior to the draft we would have taken Josh Rosen or maybe dealt up to grab Darnold.  Again, the ONLY Bills QB you can compare Mahomes to is Tyrod.  Because if the bills were not satisfied with Tyrod at that time then they may have taken Mahommes or Watson.

Now if you want to criticize the Bills front office & caches for not appreciating how great Mahommes was going to be, go for it.  Andy Reid deserves all the credit in the world for spotting this diamond in the rough.  But it has NOTHING to do with Josh Allen today.

You have to be kidding here.  NFL College scouts including the Bills knew.

Do you think that at the time of the NFL draft in 2017 Allen was high on the Bills radar or that they were planning to take him with the 7th pick in the 2018 draft.

My point was that the Bills did not pass on Mahomes becasue Allen MIGHT be available in 2018.  And I stand by that point.

Probably because he has 40 more td passes than Allen.  If Allen had half as many touchdown passes, no one would be criticizing him.

I feel a little bad for Allen.  This trade is going to put an insane amount of pressure on him.  We traded the best QB in the nfl.  It’s insane.

Why would it put any pressure on Allen?  The trade had nothing to do with Allen and everything to do with Tyrod.  Wasn't the reason the Bills wern't interested in a QB in the 2017 draft because they thought Tyrod was good enough?

This desire to compare Allen and Mahomes is weird.

He is. Granted, I saw more of Watson’s games than Mahomes but just trusted what I saw out of him more. I hope the Bills decision pans out, but the arrow is definitely pointing toward a Watson/ Mahomes selection in that spot.

You are aware that when the Bills passed on Mahomes they probably hadn't even heard of Allen?  Ditto for Watson.

I find this whole "oh I wish we drafted Mahomes" to be weird.  I'm sure several other teams wish they'd take him to.
