  1. He threw a 50/50 ball to a well covered Brown on a post that last week I don't think he throws. Brown fought for it and won... give Allen a few more play-makers like that and his confidence will continue to grow in regards to throwing guys open and trusting them to make a play on the ball. The o-line did a great job in pass-pro, giving Allen plenty of time. The Dolphins tried the same thing every team has been doing to Allen, loading up the box on 3rd down, but he is getting more used to what teams are doing to confuse and pressure him. Just takes seeing it enough times...we have to be patient.
  2. I think the OP explained why this may work better for Josh - good call.
  3. Really cannot hit the arrow on this and play it again...bad enough when they replayed it during the game. Just made me cringe.
  4. Yep, and that mad scramble behind the LOS and reversing the field created the situation where a defensive player dove and prob broke Nsekhe's ankle. You will notice a lot more injuries happen around poorly executed or broken plays. I think McD is trying to send a message to the whole team about penalties and ball security.
  5. Don't hold back the shade-throwing - how do you really feel Tom? ? Plenty of folks have been saying there will be good and bad games as Allen learns the ropes. Last week was rough with plenty of venting from everyone, and the Bills needed to shake things up. I have a feeling McDermott was more actively involved in the game planning and self-scouting for both sides of the ball after last week. I think that is likely how they came up with Daboll in the booth and Frazier being uncharacteristically more aggressive on D.
  6. The only reason Fitz had that was that we have a defensive scheme that usually sits back at the sticks on 3rd down - rushing 4 rather than bring the heat, and we had one drive where the D clearly stopped them short of the sticks and the officials gave them a first with a poor spot of the ball which extended the drive. Where there was good D improvement was using more pressure packages in the first half and 3rd qtr that produced sacks and near INTs, stopping the run, and screens were a non-factor.
  7. Allen knows he has to protect the lead - he was more cautious. You like what you see when he plays more free... the balance in his game will come over time.
  8. We survived a bad defensive philosophical approach. Extraordinary effort by Edmunds.
  9. Yeah - I just don't like our zone with 4-man rush. Too much time for Fitz
  10. ST is crapping the bed today... along with the defense going suck zone.
  11. 37 points for the offense.... trending in the right direction.
  12. Pancake blocks don't exist anymore - the announcers are right. Miami's guard got called on one of those when he simply shoved Murphy on his ass. If I am a defensive lineman I would just lock up with the o-lineman and fall over backwards
  13. Daboll calling a hell of a game - gotta hand it to him. Been critical of him for weeks.
  14. There will be a time to go slow, but it ain't quite there yet
  15. The tempo thing the announcers don't get is that Allen plays better up-tempo
  16. It is game's like this where our board's defensive side apologist get a bit annoying. Great defenses close games out like this when the offense gives them the chance - ours seems to go soft too often. Not sure if it is the players, or the coordinator, or both, but damn keep the foot on the pedal.
  17. WTF - what is going on with the tackles - arm tackling air
  18. Liuget is like 2 feet taller than Fitz and gets called for it being near his head. Did not agree with that at all - he pulled up a lot.
  19. His little wrist flicks still just nose dive on him... there is still work to do behind the sticks for Allen.
  20. Uncharacteristic pressure packages from Frazier. They have finally have given up on their front four getting it done alone.
  21. I was thinking he would be better up there than on the sideline - not his style or personality and for an x's and o's guy it makes sense.
