  1. I will ne ver understand every game why Daboll runs Gore - East and West. I actually know why he does it, just don't think it is effective. We now take a pause from my bitching to celebrate a TD
  2. Slide Allen.... PLEASE.
  3. Defense needs the Bills to have a long drive and a score.
  4. I think they did they really need to open it up a bit for him at some point and let him make mistakes again. Folks have to be ok with a few mistakes - heck Mayfield comes under less scrutiny tied for the league lead in INTs than Allen did. With Allen most of that came from getting burnt by Belichick - that happens to a lot of QBs.
  5. He got turned around and lost Hunt on the long run - a lot of us were pissed at that early as it looked like an automatic TD when he dragged defenders to the 1/2 yard line. It is understandable.
  6. I would call a roll out option for Allen next time, have him get the blood pumping a bit. He seems to be in a bit of a funk and Daboll needs to inject something to change up the tempo.
  7. Need to sustain that drive after that defensive stand. Daboll calling plays in a vacuum again - my one consistent complaint is he lacks the "feel" for the game that successful OC's have.
  8. You are wise in the ways of the Billsy....
  9. This defense needed something like that - the swag has been a bit lost the past few.
  10. snuffed snuffed snuffed .... flex those
  11. I think the reaction is appropriate to what is on display.... they need to clean this up.
  12. Edmunds was lost... where's the vision
  13. Pick within a yard is legal, surprised it is not used in short yardage more
  14. Talk gaps all you want, sometimes you just have to play on their side of the LOS
  15. If I could have scripted a bad start this would be it. Defense gets rolled for a TD and our offense sputters - damn.
  16. Pass to Brown was behind him - just a bad throw. Pass to Knox was on the money. Still looking for that consistency from Allen early in games.
  17. Not sure what is going on with Duke do not want to read too much into it, but Daboll's offensive personnel decisions are kind of like the offense itself - no identity. I think that is a purposeful thing in that he is trying to replicate a NE game plan-specific personnel package each week, but this group "ain't" there yet in regards to being able to consistently execute like that. Would think keeping some consistency with the guys on the field to develop that consistency in execution would be a better approach. Same way I don't believe that every offensive play has to be a new look to be successful, success can come because a play (even one a defense is expecting) is well executed and your guys are well coached and know how to win some of the match-ups you create. I think Duke brings that physicality to the edge and that is also where we need to attack this defense on runs so the decision is a bit baffling.
  18. I want everyone to figure out how to live their life in a way that is meaningful and brings something positive to them and to those around them. That being said, I also believe in accountability and only getting so many turns at bat. When there is a cycle of contrition and getting on and falling off the bandwagon the issues go deeper and I feel like some of our systems enable this behavior when exploited by those who are smart enough to know how to work that system (thus enabling the cycle). Say the right thing, check the right box, seek the right medical and psychological counseling, his agent and the Raiders org likely appealed to the NFL that Richie has a medical condition (I would say he is probably certifiably bi-polar), say that he has recognized that he needs help and is taking the right steps to address his problem, also admit that his past issues were the result of self-medicating to ease the anger and depression that are a symptom of his condition. I am prob spot-on and I have not read a thing about this, but someone can shoot me down if my guess is wrong. Kind of feel at this point that Richie has had enough chances at staying on track in regards to being a paid professional in the NFL. On the flip side his only chance of actually staying on a healthy regimen may be if he is in an organization that is closely monitoring him. Does not come close to addressing what happens to him once his NFL days are behind him - I don't like the odds of him staying on track. I should try to be more positive, and I readily admit that I have a negative take because I have seen too many failed interventions in my life.
  19. I have seen this too from our ends. I think Murphy may be a bit more disciplined regarding his edge contain duties. Hughes sells out to his pass rush either taking it high and they slip the run under that, or taking an inside move that leaves him pinned inside allowing the RB or mobile QB to exploit the outside. There may be something the Bills are doing schematically that is supposed to allow our ends that kind of freedom, I dunno. I just have seen teams take advantage of it.
  20. These guys in the locker room are not going to start to point fingers, BUT as fans we get to have more fun and have the liberty to do so. I have always thought that Star is doing what Star did for the Panthers and what the Bills are asking of him today which is to engage blockers and create seams and gaps allowing LBs to penetrate and stop the run. The big difference for the Bills is that Edmunds at MLB is not Luke Kuechly in regards to his ability to quickly diagnose, avoid and shed blockers, and get to the running back. There are still too many plays where our linebackers are either on their heels waiting for the running backs and/or blockers to get to them or aggressively attacking the wrong gaps, or there are times they hit the right gap, but more than a few long runs were the result of the running back hitting the scrum with no where to go, yet being able to bounce it outside.
  21. Wrong holiday, but this classic just popped into my mind...
  22. Was more a response regarding Allen's ability to learn the read-option (or read option/veer more apt). It is often used in high schools and college offenses with athletic QBs as it is a simpler concept to teach and execute with limited reads. I had no doubt Allen could run it, and there are times Daboll has used similar concepts with a few of Allen's red zone runs. Was not endorsing the Bills to adopt it, but I like how creative Roman can be with that scheme...gave Belicheat a migraine. I think in the long run Allen will be better served learning to play from the pocket.
