  1. Yeah. Joey Gatewood was the other QB. He left, presumably due to playing time.
  2. Agree. But our defense is a mess. Bama plays Big 12 football these days...
  3. I don't disagree. The resume is weak. However, I just don't believe it will matter. Bama wins Saturday, and they're in. I believe the committee is going to default to the big name, right or wrong. Utah has a much worse loss, and now the conference championship game will be devalued a bit (given the Oregon loss). That will be all the excuse they need. Although, as I stated already, I don't think Bama wins this weekend, thus making it a moot point.
  4. Nick Saban and Alabama has been beating the nine conference game schedule drum for the better part of a decade. Keep getting out-voted by the other SEC ADs. But please, carry on...agendas, and such.
  5. Brand matters. If Bama wins at Auburn with a backup QB (and that's pretty unlikely IMO), they are in.
  6. Saban’s worst defense at Bama since his first year (2007). Too many injuries combined with years of early departures to the NFL, and rotating door in the DC office. Agree 100% about Derrick Brown. Never been too many Tigers I’ve been a fan of, but that dude is a STUD
  7. Probably done. Mac Jones is an adequate backup. However, Alabama's defense is essentially swiss cheese this season. Bama's only shot is win shootouts against good teams. And Auburn has the best defense we will face all year. Just don't see Bama putting up 30-40 on Auburn, and I think that's what they need to have a chance to win that game. That said, I agree with Gary Danielson in that if Bama goes to Auburn and wins with a backup QB, they deserve to be in the playoff.
  8. According to Dr. Cain (team physician), he'll be non-weight bearing for 3 months, and best case scenario is begin training in 6 months. Clearly that puts his timetable after the upcoming draft. I have to wonder if a team would risk taking him before it's even clear whether or not he can even play again. (Cain said they expect full recovery, but who knows). Either way, it's a terrible way for the best QB in Bama history to have his career end. Tua is an outstanding young man, and role-model. I hope Bama does the right thing and honor him by retiring #13
  9. If they lose to both UGA and Bama, with the best defensive front seven they have probably ever had, it absolutely does. But I think the Barn still owes Gus about 32 million or so
  10. They get in and Bama doesn’t, and I’m rooting hard for The Gophers!
  11. I agree with that assessment. Assuming Baylor loses (a given, IMO) and Bama wins out, it becomes a comparison of losses. Bama will have the best loss, by far. And as you correctly pointed out, brand matters. Bama/Oklahoma are getting in before Oregon/Utah/Minnesota if they all have one loss
  12. Agree. But that champ ain’t gonna be undefeated. OU lost to K-State, Baylor would have to beat OU twice. Not happening. I’d be willing to bet both Baylor and Minny are behind Bama tonight
  13. Didn’t forget Baylor. Just can’t see them beating Oklahoma This is most likely true. A one loss LSU still probably gets in ahead of Utah, but maybe not Oregon (although Oregon and LSU have a common opponent-Auburn. LSU beat them, Oregon didn’t)
  14. You just KNOW, if Bama isn't in the playoff, the committee is going to put Bama and Oklahoma in a NY6 game somewhere.... Tua vs Jalen would draw lots of eyes
  15. Don't think it's going to require "a lot" of help. What does have to happen, IMO, is Bama has to win out, and do so convincingly. Can't squeak by at Auburn. Need to beat them, bigly. LSU has to win the conference. That eliminates UGA. Clemson nor Ohio State are losing. There's three that are in. A one loss conference champ Oregon could possibly get in ahead of Bama. However, their loss is to Auburn on a neutral field. If Bama boat races Auburn in Jordan-Hare, that's likely all the committee needs to see. A one loss Utah ain't getting in ahead of Bama, conference champs or not. Bama has, BY FAR, the best loss of all the one-loss teams. Just have to win out big, and hope LSU runs the table. Bama wouldn't edge out an Undefeated Big 10 champion, even Minnesota. That would mean Minny beat OSU. No chance Bama's in with two losses. That would mean they lost to the two best teams on their schedule (LSU and Auburn)
  16. Know this. He has taken a guy in Joe Burrow, who I would have sworn last year wouldn't be drafted before the 6th round and turned him in to the likely Heisman Trophy winner, top 10 draft pick this year. Joe Burrow has literally made MILLIONS of $$$ because of Brady.
  17. Can y’all imagine what Lamar Jackson is gonna do to this run D?!?
  18. Spoken like someone that hasn't watched Clemson play a down of football this season. And, BTW, they aren't two-time defending champs. But, carry on....your Bama fatigue is showing.
  19. Keep piling up wins. I couldn't care less when "that game" comes.
