Yes, I agree w assessment; this is a fair probability

But having just re-watched the Cards game, I was reminded of the sheer beauty of this Triple Threat...at times it looked like "they" could not be stopped.

Wasn't even a great JA game, but SD-CB-JB went 27 for 274...not too shabby.

Alas, I'm basking in nostalgia (despite the loss), and time moves on. But when JB was healthy, there definitely was "a thing".

I remember feeling like that was one of our worst offensive games of the year, in the moment. huge chunks of time where we couldn't move the ball at all. I don't remember specifics, but remember being frustrated and thinking their defense was handling us better than we had been. Maybe we were trying to force it to those 3? I don't know, the yards per catch were certainly not great. I almost wonder if KC took some intelligence from that game.

That’s gotta be the heartbreaking part of being the parent of an addict.  Of course, it’s also a case of nepotism but that’s common in the NFL.

My thinking is that when Andy took over in 2013, Britt was still passionate about football.  He had done his prison sentence and was an intern at Temple.  Andy probably thought that giving him a low-level position would help keep him occupied and keep him close so he could keep tabs.  He atleast knew the type of culture/environment he would build in KC.

Britt was on the staff for 7+ plus years so it was probably working for a lwhile, but ultimately it’s very hard to depend on someone with addiction issues that aren’t completely addressed

one of the most reasonable posts ive seen on the topic.

To me, it was the inexplicable time out call by Andy Reid with 40ish seconds left in the first half.  Your team, both offense and defense, has looked like total dog####.  Yet, you are down only 14 -6 and Tampa Bay looks like it will be content to run out the clock and end the half.  Plus Tampa Bay only has one time out left.  Yet, for some reason you call time out after TB's first down play and after TB's second down play!  Even if your "strategy" works, you get the ball back around your own 20 with 30 seconds left and no timeouts.

With the way Tampa Bay played defense it probably wouldn't have made any difference but if KC had gone into the locker room down one score, regrouped and come out with points to start the second half, maybe it would have made a difference.  When TB scored the touchdown to make it 21 -9 at the half, as Greg Easterbrook would say, I wrote "game over" in my notebook.

yup. this call is Andy Reid believing his own hype a bit too much.

I've seen too many "I feel like we won the SB!" from Pats fans tonight.

Kind of weird, but I get the allegiance to TB.  Personally, I think it takes some luster off of BB.  Brady can clearly do it without him....can he do it without Brady?  I doubt he coaches long enough to prove he can.

he can do it without him if he finds another top 5 qb. only took us 25 years to find one.  hopefully the same for them.

  5. I liked him. he was a good player and teammate for us. a pleasant surprise. almost perfect if you take away the he said she said story that happened with his ex.

i can only be happy for the guy.

unlike my steeler fan buddy who was tortured tonight seeing AB and Bell on opposite sidelines.

  6. im not sure rodgers is the worst guy in the world, but he is not a natural born leader. you can just see his demeanor on the sideline with the defense, or his guys when things aren't going well. He's a bit of a baby. I think it was in the game against the Bucs, after the offense put some points on the board to make a game, Rodgers was communicating with the defense and it basically looked like he was saying in a very condescending demeanor to them that they better not screw up. The words don't really matter. You could just see that his tone and gestures were not those of a supportive teammate.

you either are or you aren't. it is mostly something that you are born with. it can be worked on, and I'll bet he has improved some in this regard. but he will never be able to turn himself into what josh allen was born as.

That's amazing considering this was year 1 of Josh coming close to his ceiling but he still has a long way to go to reach his full potential.  I think he was so raw , his ceiling play might not come til 2023.  Amazing

Manning, Brady, and Rodgers all hit their ceiling in year 7--actually year 8 for Brady.

  8. What I have heard about  Rex's defense is that you need a very cerebral leader on the field to make the calls and get everybody else set up. Ed Reed was that guy. and then Jim Leonhard was that guy. I've read that the jets used him on the field, past his physical expiration date, because his presence in making the calls was so important. and the jets defense was pretty decent under rex, iirc.

apparently buffalo didn't have that guy. or maybe i read or heard something that is more fiction than fact.
