I caught that and thought huh?

Didn't he also say Lamar is a pure pocket passer or something?

i think it was something along of the lines of "what people don't know about lamar jackson is that he is a pocket passer. if you go back and watch his tape from Louisville..."

I do think the NBC production was bad last night. Missed a lot of replays that should've been shown. And I also think some of the insight and/or talking points we expect from the guys is supposed to come from the guys in production.

  2. man, you are playing with fire thinking about installing a modern passing offense with him in there. maybe he figures it out and it's great. we don't know if he can read defenses, go through progressions, etc. that stuff does not happen over night. how much patience are they going to have waiting for him to possibly master those things when they know they can go with tried and true and win a lot of ball games.

in any case, i would guess they need somebody better than roman to try to integrate a real offense, while still hanging on to what makes them successful right now.  is andy reid available? lol

Lamar has the worst WRs in the league.  He has an offensive line that has no clue how to pass block (or an OC scheme that does a really good job of teaching them to pass block).

im not saying Lamar will ever be a great passer.  I do think that, given proper weapons and system, that he can b win in this league due to his otherworldly ability to run

Yeah, ask Eli Manning, Trent dilfer, Doug Williams, Brad johnson....I could go on.  Those guys were average passers and couldn’t run...yet won Super Bowls.

It might take the perfect storm to get Lamar a title, but throwing the ball to brown, Snead and Boykin is similar to Josh throwing the ball to Foster, Zay and KB.  Bums

if they shift their focus to proper pass blocking, it will almost definitely cost them something in the run game. we have seen it with the bills. this will be a big riddle for them to solve, and they will need somebody special to put in the work to teach the guys.

    Nah...he says obvious things.

He was saying Jackson should take those short passes all night, disregarding the possible reasons Buffalo may be giving them up. A really good color guy would say Jackson just has to be careful about being too predictable.

Meanwhile, I was noticing that they were setting Lamar up the same way they set up Big Ben. I called the Taron Johnson pick before it happened.

well im sure you understand the game better than cc. very impressive on your part.

  4. I would love to see a neutral observers analysis of watson after watching 16 games worth of tape. he is an enigma to me.

I have really only watched him against the bills and the titans in week 17 this year. When i have watched, he looks like a wizard out there. He is composed. He brings his team back. His numbers are tremendous. What I watch tells me he is a top 5 guy for years to come. But I haven't watched a lot.

There has to be something to the Bienemy rumors, because sports media is practically crusading for him to get hired and if he doesn't the NFL might change the rules to force a team to hire him next season at this point.

Have we seen Bienemy at the podium? does he speak well there?

im not sure i get the hype with him anyway. that is andy reid's offense. But i don't follow the situation closely. All those people can't be wrong, can they?

  6. It will not be easily replicated. Taylor has been running as well as anybody. Perhaps even in the same league as Henry over the past month. They have a HoF qb. And a solid D. on top of that, a really good special teams. we have been pummeling our opponents special teams most of the year.

Tennessee is really scary though. Awesome run game. Very competent qb. ANd Tannehill can run as well. just a bit more dynamic than rivers at this point.  But they don't have the colts D. So there's that.

  7. i said this all game. they went away from what got them here. the run, run, run stuff is inexcusable for this offense.

I'll be honest. I want him here. I think he's really good. But he has seemed almost infallible the past 6 weeks. Not the case today. Makes me feel better about the possibility of playing without him going forward.

For most offenses, yes. But Daboll needs to call plays for this offense. We don't run the ball well in any situation. The only consistently good runs that we have are Allen scrambling on busted pass plays. I don't really care if defenses are selling out to stop the pass, we should still be passing in those situations anyways. We have a dominant passing offense and a terrible rushing offense. So forget what the defense is dictating, we should play to our strengths.

yup. our version of a run game should be short little swing passes into the flats.

Aww, I was looking to maybe stick around here a bit 😂. Bills are one of my favorite teams outside of Indy! Whatever happens, I’m hoping whoever wins today goes deep into the playoffs!

I think i know how you feel...almost. When the Bills were going through 20 years of football purgatory, I spent many a Sunday cheering for Peyton Manning. Only non-Bills jersey I ever bought. And then I followed him to Denver. I think Allen and Manning are similarly likeable. Thank god the Bills picked it up soon after Peyton retired. He got me through some hard times for the Buffalo.

My neighbors are the parents of Colts OC Nick Sirianni. Tremendous neighbors.  I can give them some love if they pull off the upset.
