That's an awful lot to pay.   You can sign a free agent that would be better than that second round pick for the Bortles money.

I would make this trade in a heartbeat. Were not spending all our cap anyways. Trade for him and cut him that gives us dead cap money that would be available in 2020.

  2. I think its a mixture of cheating by the Pats and the NFL. We seen in the early yrs of there dynasty the Pats benefitted from the Tuck rule which we never again seen called and spygate . This was a major key to there success considering they won all 3 Superbowls by slim margins. Not only did they benefit from the tuck rule and spygate they were allowed to hold at will on offense and defense. Im pretty sure people here seen those gms against Peyton Mannings Colts . The Patriots secondary was allowed to maul and hold the Colts Wrs at will.

Fast forward to present day and the Refs always seem to give the Pats all the 50/50 calls going there way. Not only that but u hardly see them behind the sticks in 2nd & 20 or 3rd & longs . They hold and no one calls it especially on kick and punt returns.

When u play the Pats not only are u playing against a well prepared team but your playing against the NFL to.  I call them the Man Made Dynasty.  I believe without the extra help they still would of won a few Superbowls maybe 3 but not 5 going on 6.

Yeah. I talked to a teammate of Maybin's in a bar once. Played linebacker so he was pretty close to him in terms of the locker room. Guy was pretty tipsy and told me that Maybin was a great guy but had little interest in football and wasn't nearly as good as his junior season numbers suggested. Said the rest of his defensive teammates were shocked he was taken in the first round, let alone that high.

Conclusion; get the prospects teammates drunk and find out what they have to say.

Maybin was a complete bust before we even pkd him. He failed my eye test big time. I almost lost it when we took him over Orakpo.

I think the same. Pats will have to have a plan for Donald. I also think you have the play at least 50% press coverage. Rams can do it but Talib and Peters will need to play out of their minds. There isn’t a big time WR to cover but I think wade will have a plan for Gronk who is a shell but can still make the big play, and of course Edelman (NRC won’t get away with DPI vs Pats)

Put Talib on EdelJuice. Matter of fact on passing downs have one of your LBs jam Edeljuice and have Robey waiting for him on the bkend preferably in Brady favorite passing lane. I would wait till the 2nd half of the gm to implement this if i was the Rams.

C'mon, dude.  That's no longer an acceptable position given the technological world we live in.  There is literally NO reason not to eliminate egregious judgment errors by officials.

The NFL can defintely eliminate egregious calls if they wanted to. The thing is do they really want to. No matter what there will always be teams that they favor more then the others. Even if u can replay everything they will still find a way to mess it up.

During the first two years of Nix and Gailey, the Bills didn't spend big in free agency and talked about building through the draft.  Nix said it was a 3-4 year rebuild.  Then, in 2012, they spent big on Mario and Marc Anderson.  Something had changed, specifically, that the pressure was on to win after a 10-22 start.  It forced them to dramatically change course.

I see a lot of pressure, albeit not as much, on McBeane to win in 2019 primarily because they have no excuses now. There's no more cap issues or problem players from previous regimes.  They got their QB and implemented their defense.

Whatever "the process" is, it has changed and if they decide to spend big in UFA it wouldn't shock me.  No GM gets credit at the end of a season for not using 20-30M in cap space for that year.  They may have a big move planned, perhaps not like the Mario signing to make a splash, but to move the rebuild into high gear.

That said, it's not going to be an Antonio Brown or Le'Veon Bell type guy.  It's going to be someone who buys into McCoach's way and adheres to that.  Because, this is Josh Allen's team, but their leadership, at least on offense, isn't particularly strong.  I see them going with some less heralded types who aren't going to rock the boat who might challenge their hand-picked QB.

I agree there going less heralded types no doubt about it. I believe they will spend most of there budget on the Oline and then add a couple wrs to the mix and a TE . We will load up this oline this offseason.

    #1- LT -Trent Brown 4yrs 45mil

    #2- RT - Daryl Williams 4yrs 40mil

    #3 C Ryan Khalil 2yrs 13mil

    # 4 RG- Glowinski 3yrs 21mil

I got us signing 2 new tackles, Dawkins will be moved to LG where he can truly flourish with his skill sets. I got us spending nearly 40 mil on our line

    New starting 5

    LT Brown

    LG Dawkins

    C Kalil

    RG Glowinski

    RT Williams

    Wrs

The Bills will add Wrs via free agency and the draft . I dont see them spending big on this position at all. They will try to sign under rader players such as Donte Moncrief or Kevin White. I wont be surprised if they get them both.

    TE

Jessie James .  Bills will show big interest in JJ and i can see him signing with us.

The Pats run has further exacerbated the "we have a black cloud over our heads" that many Bills fans (myself included) have had at one time or another.  After the SB run of the Bills in 90s, I often thought to myself what are the chances that a Bills team as good as that could go to the SB, 4 years in a row and lose in such a painful way every time? How is it possible that in those 4 games we never caught a break, had a good bounce or a gust of wind to make a FG good etc. It almost seemed like a Hex had been put against us. However, karma, a vindictive God, Satan, the universe whatever  wasn't through with us. Because to follow that crushing pain and disappointment up, we have had to endure:  The Pats MEGA DYNASTY. what are the chances that a team in our division would get a late draft round HOF QB, the GOAT? What are the chances that they would win as many SBS and division titles as they have done? What are the chances that Brady would play at such a consistent HOF level and only get injured for 1 season and play into his 40s? What are the chances that this would be combined with a coach who was also the GOAT?

It honestly has to be worse odds than winning the lottery for ALL those things to happen to us in 30 years of being a fan of a team. Bills fans are like the Biblical Job. We are good people forced to endure an unending nightmare to test our faith in our loyalty to our team!!  Maybe one day it will be all worth it, but it doesn't feel that way right now!

U forgot to add to this great message that Belicheck beat us in Superbowl 25. The fact that they had players intentionally fake injuries so that they can make substitutions and slow down our offense.

I mean for God sakes the NFL made rules after that gm because of this. This right here adds to the fire in my belly which hates the Patriots and the city of Boston and there sport teams with all my heart.

Yup. All males. Mostly Americans. Athletically talented. But no, there are plenty of teams that aren't particularly happy with their last two drafts. Plenty of teams that haven't showed as much as these guys.

It's early. A lot to show yet, but it's a promising list.

In comparison, look at Miami, and I'm no big Miami fan but would anyone trade the Bills drafts for these guys?

2018: Minkah Fitzpatrick, Mike Gesicki, Jerome Baker, Durham Smythe, Kalen Ballade, Cornell Armstrong, Quentin Poling, Jason Sanders

2017: Charles Harris, Raekwon McMillan, Corder Tankersley, Isaac Asiata, Davon Godchaux, Vincent Taylor, Isaiah Ford

Or look at Detroit or Tampa. Those were the first three I thought of and they would trade their guys for ours in a second, IMO. I bet plenty of other teams would too in terms of quality.

Yea lets look at the other bottom feeder teams so we can compare drafts with. How bout comparing to the Ravens or Saints or Chiefs then u will see our drafts are just solid in comparison.

Yup. Two GMs. McDermott ran the first draft, and then Beane.

And yeah they traded talented players. Which has nothing to do with how well they seem, so far, to have picked.

They still have a lot to prove but so far so good in their drafts.

2 solid drafts . We missed out on some big talents though if u think about it. Mahomes, Juju, Galladay, Kupp, Dede Westbrook, Kamara, Cohen, Hunt & Kittle .

I will go to my grave believing that McDermott used Carolina's draft board that year.

Look at this list of players Carolina met with pre-draft:

    https://panthergf.wordpress.com/2017/02/28/2017-draft-prospect-visit-workout-meeting-list/

    Tre'Davious White

    Zay Jones

    Dion Dawkins

    Tanner Vallejo

That's our first 3 picks and 1 of our late round picks that met with Carolina. We also traded ahead of Carolina to get Zay Jones, and his college WR coach at ECU was our WR coach that year.

Here's who the Bills had as pre-draft visitors:

    https://www.newyorkupstate.com/buffalo-bills/index.ssf/2017/04/2017_nfl_draft_buffalo_bills_private_workout_and_pre-draft_visitor_list.html

The only match is Nate Peterman.

No way this is just a coincidence. Whaley had nothing to do with that draft. Well maybe he put in a good word for Peterman, it wouldn't surprise me.

Now we can all take it to the grave that Mcd was the one that passed on Mahomes and a ton of other top talent players that got drafted that yr.

Whomever this FO drafts I will have faith that they are making the right choice.  I cant remember a time over the past 20 years where we had so many quality starters/prospects in 2 consecutive years of drafts/undrafted rookie prospects chosen.

    White

    Dawkins

    Zay

    Milano

    Josh Allen

    Tremaine Edmund's

    Harrison Phillip's

    Taron Johnson

    Robert Foster

    Wyatt Teller

Josh Allen being the most important one of them and thankfully Beane seemingly making the right choice here, just going by their track record and the great scouting staff they have (NFL teams are poaching our guys for a change), I think they are going to end up with another great draft.  And if they are able to have another successful draft then that will surely set this organization up for many contested Division titles over the next decade.

Remember they traded talented players to get a few of these guys and there's that little fact that 2 different gms ran these drafts.

Outside of the perspective of free agency, this looks like a good draft.

I see more value at OL in FA, and more weapons value in the Draft. That being said, I hope we’re heavy on line in FA and heavy on weapons in the draft.

Its very important that we do this. First 3 or 4 rds should be all offensive skill positions.

Hopefully we can trade bk get some extra pks and grab the elite TE first either TJ or Fant.

  12. We need 4 new guys on this line. Dawkins will be bk for sure and his position flexibilty is a major plus for us. Here's some players i hope we target at the Tackle spots.

LT- Greg Robinson 26 - seems like Robinson has finally emerged as a good LT in the NFL after yrs of looking like a bust. GR started nearly half the season and held is own on many occasions as the Browns left him on a island the majority of the time.

LT - Ty Nsehke 32 - Yea he's 33yrs old but very low milege . Nsehke stepped in for Trent Williams this yr and graded out as a top 10 LT in the NFL . Nsehke was given a 2nd rd tender last yr by the Skins now he's a unrestricted free agent. Nsehke seems like a Lorax type late bloomer and i wouldn't mind signing him to a 3yr deal at a reasonable price.

RT- Daryl Williams 26- the last time D Will played in 2017 he was a first team all pro RT . At 6,6 & 330 pounds D Will is a road grading beast that we should defintely try lure to come play for the Bills. He's also young in August he turns 27 so a nice 5yr deal we should get the rest of his prime yrs.

Should have. Were winning in Tennessee with 16 seconds left until, you know,  Wycheck to Dyson on that illegal play.

Why did Wade leave 16secs on the clock that was the prb. We should ran the clock down to 3secs left and hit the fg and went on to Indy.

  14. OG Bobby Johnson also got some serious ties with the Oakland "Duece" Raiders look for a trade for either OG Kelichi Osemele or for C Rodney Hudson which is on his last yr of his deal.

I believe Osemele will be the more likely trade option because there's already rumors of his departure. He has 2yrs 20mil remaining on his deal.

OG Bobby got some work to do with Beane i can see us forming this line like Voltron this offseason.

    LT Dawkins

LG Osemele - via trade for 6th rd pk

    C Big Mitch -  4yrs 36 mil deal

    RG Glowinski - 4yrs 32mil

    RT D Will - 5yrs 55mil

They did this for their QB of the future (boy, did theirs come early!).  I really don't think there's anyone at 9 the Raiders will want.  If anything, I could see Gruden trading the Cards for the #1 pick to get Bosa.

If MLB Devin White still available at #9 i can see the Raiders moving up for him. There's a 50/50 chance of DW being there.

  16. 16 hours ago, bigfootindy said:

Very early, just hypothetical trade.  Maybe the Raiders want a QB before the Broncos/Dolphins have a shot.  Trade chart shows:

    Bills 9th: 1350

    Raiders picks: 740 + 680 = 1420 (About a 5% premium)

    Thoughts?

    I say they kick in there 2nd (35) for our  3rd (75). So we get 24, 27 & 35 for 9, 75.

    24- Christian Wilkins DT Clem

    27- Marquise Brown Wr OKLA

    35- TJ Hockenson TE Iowa

40- Hakeem Butler WR Iowa ST.

Man this kind of draft can do wonders for our Future.
