  1. Big difference between doing it in practice and in a game when a 350lb man will crush your head as soon as you flinch. Neill did a great job last year as evidenced by both Moorman's stats, the lack of blocked kicks and Lindell's FG percentage. A big part of kicking is timing with the snapper and Lindell's percentage went up as soon as we got a decent long snapper as has been great with both Schneck and Neill. Before Schneck we had Dorenbos for 2 years but I don't remember who replaced Dorenbos when he got hurt. it may have been Preston for a little while. The snapper before Dorenbos I think was Teague.
  2. Exactly, lets assume for a second the Stevie Johnson is great (I'm by no means sure of this but lets just say). he plays last night against Indy's 7th CB who will be getting cut in two weeks and has 7 catches for 160 yds and 3 tds. That's going to get some attention, no? Whereas if you've like what you've seen in practice but know he'll be your 5th or 6th WR because (god forbid you actually have some decent WRs already) why let anyone else see what you've seen? SJ will get better by playing on your scout team for a year than he would have gotten playing against whatever trash CBs Indy would have thrown out there.
  3. No, wrong, false. You do not, I repeat DO NOT cut your long snapper unless you have a proven person to bring in. We have done this before and it has killed us. Neill stays, period.
  4. Adam Schefter Wiki Some funny stuff.
  5. You hide him so nobody else has film on him which reduces the chances of him getting picked up by someone else. Other teams can sign people away to their PS as well which also reduces the chances we'd get him back because he'd stop learning our system and start learning theirs, etc. You are correct the every team has one or two guys they want to sneak through, however.
  6. It will probably come down to a James or Youboty choice and it's hard to cut talented young players, especially ones you have invested that much time and effort into. I'd like to find a way to keep James around because our depth is very young at CB.
  7. Could it be more obvious that Schefter is the mouthpiece for the agent? He has been basically singing the same tune all summer while ignoring that Steven jackson just did the same thing with the same agent. Every time he speaks the huge slant is that the Bills are in the wrong. he hasn't once pointed out that Peters has three years left on his contract or that the Bills do not have a history of refusing to re-negotiate contracts. As a matter of fact he could point to three or four examples of how they have done that, the difference being that the player was in camp. He doesn't spin it that way.
  8. The old fart threw 27 TDs last year and wasn't the full time starter. That ain't bad.
  9. I remember Larry Felser going on rant about how we should have taken Wendell Bryant a couple years ago. Leinart is an ego trip though. Maybe some pine time will strighten him out. If I were AZ I'd try to deal him to Chicago.
  10. Yes, they've cloned a man so awesome and beastly his name cannot be pronouced by humans. He is comprised of 10% JPs arm, 10% Trent's brain and 80% Hamdan's Chroise. He, like Chuck Norris, is certainly a man to be feared...
  11. Well, so far Youboty has 2 picks, one on a bad throw, one on a nice read by AY and has been absolutley napalmed once for a TD. It was nice that he bounced back after Roethlisberger burned his village, he shwoed some of the mental tioughness that we all thought was lacking. He might stick around but it will make the decision harder.
  12. I hearken back to an old fantasy football commercial. "JP Losman is the next Kenny Stabler...mark it down" well he's got the beard now.
  13. Tough to say because they will keep some fodder to churn on Thursday. baker won't get cut because he will play a lot on Thursday. I doubt that teams will try to sneak people through on the first cut since teams only need to lop off 5 players each right now. There won't be an overwhelming number available and teams will still have fodder to waive to make room for a guy. The hiding will be next week when 22 guys get cut from each team and final roster spots are set. It's harder for a team to scoop up a guy just for a look see when they have the cut one of the final 53 to do it. My guesses for this week are fodder from positions of excessive numbers. Shaun Nua Jason Jones Jon Banks Dustin Fox DJ Fitzpatrick
  14. 3 guys in a booth and not one of them can say the words "Colts" or "ask". Not to mention that it was patently obviusly that none of them bnothered to study the rosters for either team. During the starting lineups one of the idiots got to Darian Barnes, stammered and called him D. Barnes. Seriously? It's your job! Given all of the mess they did a ncie job of breaking doen plays and showing you where something was good and bad, but for play by play they were atrocious.
  15. Had a drop too. IIRC Hamdan fit a ball in between the corner and safety and Huggins didn't catch it cleanly then dropped it after he got hit. Jenkins made some nice plays thogh, including the 3rd dwon catch over the middle where the ball was wayyy behind him.
  16. That, and it would look cool as hell.
  17. tesla was doing that 100 years ago. he couldn't make it work for long distances at the time, the Tesla coils would have been monstrous.
  18. I'd agree except on PS there's always the chance another team picks him up. Wright has fumbled 3 times in 42 career carries (this pre-season and last regular season) He has fumbled twice in 13 carries this PS. Omon has fumbled once in 15 carries. We really need to see more of Omon to know if that's a problem for him or not and I hope he and Wright get a lot of work this week. I like the game smarts Omon has shown including blitz pick-ups and how he sacrificed yards to stay in bounds at the end of the game last week. Those things make a big difference to a RBs success but don't necessarily go on the stat sheet so keep an eye there while watching. Thus far, Omon has stepped up and stoned some LBs and has had a few nice cut blocks. He's a smaller guy so it's not like Sam Gash knocking someone out but he definietly reads the right guy and stops the blitzer which is all he needs to do. Wright hasn't impressed me in general since last season and his fumbles don't help that at all so you could call me biased a little bit. To me he's always looked like a bit of a plodder and the burst has been lacking which could be excused if he were a punishing runner but he doesn't really seem to be that either and if he puts the ball down again he's gone IMO. Otherwise it's still a battle. I think Hall is at best a PS guy becuase he was undrafted and battling with two drfat choices. It's tough to knock out two draft picks unless you are playing Gayle Sayers good when you get an opportunity.
  19. w00t! 4 seats together for opening day baby....at 8:01am :-) Sec 314 row 19, not terrible either.
  20. With a whopping 2,530 yards. He was the 8th pick in the draft. And he was surpassed by DeShaun Foster who has over 3,000 rushing yards as a Panther I'm sorry that he got hurt but busts occur for a number of different reasons, when you take a back at #8 overall you expect more than 2,500 career yards. To put it in perspective, he ran for about 1,000 yards less than John Elway and for about half as many yards as Randall Cunningham. granted they played longer, but they were quarterbacks for God's sake. You don't tkae a back at #8 expecting him not to surpass two QBs on the all-time rushing list. The guys around Cunningham on the list are Greg Bell, Tyrone Wheatley, Lamar Smith, Christian Okoye and Napoleon Kaufman, not exactly world beating HOF RBs. You'd hope a top 10 pick ends up better than Greg Bell.
  21. There are some nice runs by Omon. And as pointed out in the broadcast, he did well to stay in bounds and not be greedy to go for extra yardgae to pad his stats. Coaches will like that.
  22. He got screwed out fo 2 possessions by ST. The punt return shenanigans and Mckelvin's return took away snaps. Preston's at tackle. It's be hard to run if he were at guard. I agree though he hasn't shown much, but alos hans't fumbled or done anything stupid
  23. ROXOR, thanks, that chat box was obnoxious
  24. Anyone else waiting for the huge Chinese doping scandal? It's coming, it's just a question of when...
  25. Jus' you so far. fiOS is still providing the sweet sweet unregulated bandwidth over here.
