As I haven't been to a live game in years, this is how I roll (minus the tent). I usually play a few games of Super Tecmo Bowl and start with a few beers about 11 AM and listen to the pre-game show.

People...are making it last longer. Because "muh freedoms". That's the irony. The stubbornness of some people to NOT socially distance or follow guidelines because they feel it infringes on their rights...are actually playing a hand in extending this and having their rights infringed on longer. If you dont mind sharing, what is your main source of news (please be honest)?

I would love Saturday NFL as it would allow me to function on Monday mornings.

This is my biggest gripe during this whole pandemic mess...selfishness. This thing could possibly have been over a couple of months ago. But instead, due to continued self-centered behavior, we are probably looking at 2021 before any real advances are made.

To me, this is the "culture" that has always been preached (and panned by some). It's not that you need choir boys...you need guys who live for football and have the competitive drive to be the best.

It's called "DebbieDowner-itis"...and there is no cure, unfortunately.

100% agree with the bolded. For me football happening this fall is a huge beacon of hope. With everything going on in the world and at home (kids home for 5 months (1 special needs with no therapy available), etc.) I don't think I've ever been MORE attached to football. I get your position though.

This seems like your way of protecting yourself from getting "hurt" IF the season does get canceled or shortened. Kind of a way to soften the blow so you can tell yourself "yep, I KNEW this would happen!!!".

I wonder if McBeane will even try to convince him. Could be some liability there if he ends up getting sick and then comes out saying he felt pressured to play. Just based on what we've seen from McBeane, I would bet they have told all the guys, "do what is best for you and your family" and likely left it at that as far as trying to convince guys to not opt out. Again, I have no idea for sure, but just my thoughts.

It actually makes me wonder if this will help with their conditioning. I know they sell masks that are used for cardio that force your body to perform with less oxygen (similar to athletes training at altitude...or I guess blood doping lol).

Agreed. I have been cautiously optimistic about a full season, but now that players have reported and its starting to feel more and more real, I'm literally counting down the days to the opener and I'm letting myself buy-in completely!

Might have just been somewhere, on the way to another location and forgot to take it off. If I have to go to a few stores, I'll often leave my mask on in the car but just pull it down a little bit. Just saves time.

Yeah, it's one of those things that is obviously sad, but you look back and think "hey 90+ good healthy years...hard to beat that". My maternal grandparents passed away before I even knew them so out of the two options I'll take 90s please lol.

Yeah it is crazy how fast it can come. The same happened to my fraternal grandparents. Both were driving, playing cards, visiting with friends in their 90s, then when it started to happen they went downhill in a matter of days. Crazy stuff.

The SB days for me were 6th, 7th, 8th, and 9th grade. Formative years. Probably has a lot to do with the way my brain works these days lol. Had to look Marv's age up...he's 95. Good for him! Guy always had a great spirit and attitude. Probably helps with his longevity.

I get it. But he got us to 4. As much as that s%&^ hurt I will forever cherish those days.

I guess this is par for the course...I mean, him not playing a full season for us lol.
