  1. Go out there and f the Patriots over. Sign Nate Solder to play LT, move Dawkins to RT, draft Billy Price to play G in the second round. Offensive line: fixed.
  2. It's a good trade for Cincy too ... would you rather have a good NFL tackle or Mike McGlinchey? Just gotta hope the Jets overspend on Cousins.
  3. There will be at least two solid centers available in the second round.
  4. Really a master stroke. Leapfrogged Arizona, only one spot behind Miami. If the Jets win Cousins race, it is possible we get the third QB off the books.
  5. Alone a move from 21 to Cincy is the equivilant of a 2nd round pick ...
  6. Conveniently leaving out that Foles had one of the best three seasons in the history of the game, I notice. Let's not belabor the point of just how freaking insanely good he was that year. Or that the other QB was pretty f'in horrible running the same offense while he was gone - some guy named Mike Vick. He comes back in 2014 and wins 6 and loses two. Be brave enough to compare his statistics in either year to the other quarterback on the team Let's just look at the six games in 2018 together as a unit - with more than half of them against really good teams. iI would have been better than any QB not named Jim Kelly has ever put in the history of our team. Not to mention, he won 5 out of the 6 games (The one loss? He played for 1 quarter in a season finale tune-up against the Cowboys). This is in one of the years you are throwing away. Instead it simply is an example of confirming what you saw in 2013 and 2014. In 2018, in 11 games, he threw for 11 touchdowns and only 2 interceptions. This compares pretty well with his outstanding 2013. And in case anyone was wondering, he was pretty good in his other playoff game I guess, putting up a 113 QB rating in '13. Putting together 2013-14 and this year past, he's only been 17-5. Comments that include that teams "gave up" on Nick Foles should be pretty indicative of how bad the management was. In one of the instances, he was traded for a former #1 pick. For instance, all in favor of lining up to have Jeff Fisher lead your team please line up under the gate saying Arbeit Macht Frei. And while we're thinking about that awful season in St. Louis, does anyone remember who the other quarterback was that the Rams gave up on in that season? Maybe, just maybe ... it wasn't the QB that was the problem. Now ... should we give up a ton to get him? Probably not much more than the second second rounder and a fourth. Should we move up to get the "QB of the future"? That's an absolutely ridiculous idea. I'd scream bloody murder at the cost of moving up to #5, #4 or #2 unless there was a firesale going on. But Nick Foles for a 2+4? Highway robbery. Y'all need to get a grip. Nick Foles is the freaking answer here folks.
  7. Thank you. Somebody should point out to Mort that the desperate entity here really is Philadelphia, then Arizona. But Arizona can target Cousins, Keenum, etc. For teams that are looking for a one year bridge, Foles will be more expensive to acquire than Tyrod - but not a lot more expensive. Any team - let's say Denver - can get a player like Teddy or AJ McC or McCown and have them sign a two year deal full of incentives but no real commitment in terms of dollars. And that player doesn't come with a price tag of draft picks. The lost opportunity of traded picks, in the inflationary world of the New NFL is obscene. Don't expect that any other team in the NFL is going to make the same mistake Cleveland just made.
  8. The "up" part is staggeringly good - including beating Tom Brady and a simply spectacular post season. It's almost laughable what people are calling a backup QB. Look closely at those stats. At 24 and 25, he won 14 and lost 4, playing incredibly well. He had a single - single - bad season for a not very good team, then came back and beat the Patriots in the Super Bowl, concluding a 3 game run. Not sure what you are saying is "up and down" here, but ok. I'll take that guy over anybody that is available, including Cousins.
  9. we are all aware that this isn't the first time the team has said this, right? Out of the gate Beane said you'd get old waiting for him to make a drastic move up in the draft and spend a lot in free agency. Nothing has changed. His intent right now is to trade for his QB, retain nearly all of his picks, and rebuild through the draft. It's not like the only way you use the draft capital is by moving up. If he is forced, I think he'll move - to #9 or #10, using a 1st, 2nd and 3rd and leaving a 1st 2nd and 3rd. But the intent hasn't changed. Nick Foles.
