Yes and no. Hyde was a guy that played like 70% of the snaps in GB for a few years. Poyer played 90%+ the year before in CLE, though was on IR part of the year. Prior to that was a situational guy. But yes they both hit their stride in BUF and became all pros.

Expected to be gone last year and returned. Could be back if Bills are not able to sign anyone else, but would be much cheaper.

No brainer. Nothing to see here.

Unlike Bates he actually plays, plus provides great depth. Seems like nice value, no?
We are not talking huge numbers here. But if we are cap strapped and counting pennies to sign at other positions then I let Edwards walk and use a rookie or vet minimum guy be our OL depth and extra OL. But at most its like a $1.3M overpay.

You could go down the list of every super bowl winning team and find free agents that led to a super bowl win. It may always not be in year 1 of their deal but every team is built with both free agents and draft picks. If you are trying to say a free agent that single handedly won a super bowl that is not really realistic because now it is basically an argument around QB's. But you then have Stafford, Brady, Manning in the last few years.

Mangas is Brady's guy. Shula wasnt. Simple as that.

Buyers market if you want an older S, or any S for that matter. Draft one this year or next and sign a couple vets on 1 year deals. Or if pricing is down get a younger guy on the cheap for 3-5 years.

Bates traded 1.44 saved. Still 37+ million to go to get to cap compliance.
Many moves to go and so little time.
Allen alone is $20m+ of that

They are always better. The guys that leave sucked anyway. Addition by subtraction. The guys that come in are all superstars and hidden gems. Clear upgrades across the board.

actually I'd say decent chance he comes back here really cheap if no one offers him better $Which is why it is unbelievable people thought he was worth $5M. I am guessing he will get essentially vet min wherever he goes. Assuming there are any takers.

The nfl is full Of jag’s. You can throw just about any of them on the field and call it an emergence. They made the nfl fit a reason. All pro level guys is another story. You don’t get rid of all pros and replace them with jag’s.

I want big and fast. Praying Brian Thomas is there.

Cant forecast Hines injury...ok. He is a guy that barely got any snaps and was set top be paid $5M. In jury or no injury he was not sticking around.

No brainer. But I was told by many on here it was not happening. Thank goodness.

I am waiting to read:
Allen and a bunch of other restrux
Dawkins extended
Harty released
Hines released or renegotiated
Bates released or renegotiated

Considering Barkley, Pollard, and Jacobs are all UFA's now i don't see how thats in the cards for him. Or literally any of the backs, theres too many available plus the entire draft.
There is a good chance these guys are looking at deals around $5M per. Sadly that is what we are paying Hines.

We just hired his former position coach from Tennessee a few weeks back. Would likely be out of the Bills price range but something to at least keep an ear out on.
This would be a very nice pick up. Depends on how much $ he is looking for.

The Bills have quite a few more players in the 3 to 10’milion cap hit range than the chiefs do. I am curious as to how much more production you get from Ryan Bates at 5.4 million. Compared to say Ryan Van Demark at 0.9 million.
This is my issue with the Bills roster construction. It has slowly gotten better because it had to due to some of the large contracts. But too many of those mediocre higher paid guys over either cheap rookies or even cheap vets. We keep guys like Neal around for over $3M and he plays a few snaps here and there. Replace that with the cheapest deal you can get. You do that a few times and you have room for a $10M guy all the sudden. Imagine we had Hopkins last year...

Because Shorter was the top WR of his class coming out of high school so he's realistically a better talent than most other guys out there. Granted he may never have developed to his full potential in college and as a result may not in the NFL either. Only time will tell.
We talking about high school? Never mind he graduated in 2018 and has a ton of college tape since he played 5 years of college bowl. Man you should have seen uncle Rico throw the ball over the mountains. If only coach had put him in they could have been state champions.

We had Rapp last year. We know what we are getting with him. Don’t know why you give him that kind of money.
