Yeah, but who needs a plan when you have a process!
Especially the process built on the success of William & Mary and the Carolina Panthers.

Came here to post just this.
Meanwhile we're over here with post-injury Tre and 30 year old Douglas, acting afraid to do anything with either of them.
Plus $14M to Dawson Knox which is essentially Kelce money and 5 times what they pay Gray as TE#2.
Between Miller, Tre and Knox that is $55M in cap.

For those saying Cook + anyone is enough. Clearly the Bills dont trust him or think this. He comes off the field a ton compare to most lead backs in the league. We need more than Ty Johnson, fun to root for a guy like that but he does not scare anyone. You add Henry like some have mentioned and that would change defenses mindset.

No tags expected on some of the big names - Jacobs, Barkley, Henry, Pollard, Ekeler and more. This RB free agent pool is gonna be stacked. Guessing we can upgrade from Harris/Murray/Johnson and it wont cost much at all. Here is who we are looking at:
Barkley
Jacobs
Ekeler
Henry
Pollard
Swift
Dillon
Singletary
Moss
Dobbins
Edwards
Elliott
Edwards-Helaire
Gibson
McKinnon
Murray
Harris
Akers
Kelley

I wouldn’t deal Bates and there’s no way I’m paying Miller the $6.5 that’s due in March.
Hines and Harty seem like no brainers. Though I wont be shocked if nothing is done.

Worse than this signing is that Smiley still has a job.

Probably paying him under $1M. Get a competent punter for half what the Bills are paying their guy. Money that can be spent elsewhere.
-
Do not see it. Henry is in his final years to try and make good $. He will be on the Bills in 3 years when he is making the vet min. I could see them getting a guy like Swift or Ekeler though.

Allen's restructures are built in and just executed by the team, he may get some money sooner but the overall money is not changing. That is not the same as with Mahomes.
I dont think that is right unless I missed something. Mahomes signed a 10 year / $450M deal. All they did was move up a bunch of the money to 2023-2026 not give him a new deal. Its the same $450M.

I am not talking about cap hits though, players don't really care about cap hits. That is for GMs and fans to worry about. Players worry about cash. When Allen gets his new deal it will come with a hefty signing bonus which will give him an even bigger payday even though the Bills will account for it over multiple years (as many as possible) to spread it out and lower the hit.
I think Josh will play 2024 and 2025 on the current deal. Summer 2025 is when I expect him to extend.
Mahomes has been paid $136M in 7 years. That is only $23M more than Allen at this point and one year longer. After year 7 Allen will be close to $150M and pass the cash Mahomes has received through 7 years.

That is a restructure, not a new deal. Allen did a restructure last year as well and will be doing it again this year.

Anyone talking about a new deal for Josh? He is way underpaid at this point. Mahomes gets his deal redone fairly often.....I expect something for Josh at some point.
Mahomes had his rookie deal and his new deal. Just like Josh.

The waiting is killing me, Smalls... this will be the biggest pre-draft news by far if he extends in Buffalo.
Hopefully a 3 year extension pushing money out a few years. Anything longer and I don’t like paying 33 year old corners $10+ million.

I would draft 2 WRs and say "f*ck the salary cap" and bring in Danielle Hunter or Brian Burns who will both be free agents. I'm tired of not having that elite pass rusher. Danielle Hunter just had a 16 sack season at 29. We can get 3 good years out of him
Sadly cannot go back in time. But Imagine we had no Miller contract right now and were ready to spend that money on J Allen, D Hunter, B Burns, C Jones, etc

We need help at WR and DL. All depends what happens in FA and how the draft falls. If all equal I think you go WR. Winning without enough targets is harder than winning with holes on D.
-
Josh will get hurt week 5 with the Bills 4-0 and miss the year. Despite drafting defense heavy and spending $ on D in free agency the Bills will still score 28 points per game with Tyrod Taylor at QB but give up over 30 and go 4-13. McD keeps his job and fires Smiley because special teams cost them .8 yards in field position per game.
-
The Chiefs consistently do what the Bills dont. They dont fold under pressure. The moment is never too big. On multiple occasions now we have seen the Bills lose in big games when they should win (13 seconds and this year) along with many late game collapses this year in regular season games.

Nice… now we have 2 out of the last 3 OC from William and Mary. Go Tribe.
Football powerhouse. Most people talk about William & Mary like they do Alabama, Georgia, Michigan...

When things go right more often than not, it usually is because their coaching is better. The playcall with hardman was genius...Mcdermott doesn't make that call.
Reid doesn’t waste time outs or do many stupid things. He adjusts and confuses other teams. The Bills win because Allen goes superhero alien mode and makes up for a lot of dumb coaching decisions.

Special teams played a big role tonight. Who is our new special teams coach? Oh yeah, the obvious never happened.

Purdy got the weak horse collar. Nice if Allen gets those.
Mahomes on the grounding. We never got that call vs them. -
Kc looked like bills early on. Tons of balls behind the line etc. now starting to open it up.

Well Von was 32 years old when he got that contract. By far the oldest edge rusher to get a deal that big. Most guys getting that deal are 25-27 not 32 years old. The Chiefs have been avoiding giving Jones a a large long term deal and he is only 29.
I can chalk Tre up to bad luck with the injury.
Issue with Knox is they paid him top TE money. He is overpaid and even worse now that we have Kincaid. Plenty of teams had more productive guys than Knox for less money.
