  1. Exactly. And I don't think you can discount the possibility that this is a cash grab from Matt Araiza's attorney. He warned the lawyer for the victim not to keep calling the Bills bc he could get cut and then their would be no money to get. But that's also true for him, which means it was in his best interest to make the Bills believe there was nothing to the story so that he can get paid.
  2. Araiza's attorney said it wasn't a party, it was just a gathering of football players, and that Matt Araiza never stepped foot inside the house that night. At the same time, his attorney isn't denying that he had sex with a girl he just met outside the house. So he was just there to hang out in the yard and have sex? https://twitter.com/Matt_Bove/status/1562958512015101958?t=w9miHXJR1w7BuJQPujRjPA&s=19
  3. Did you see the video of the student apartment as reported, or just playing devils advocate that it may have been at some resort? Araiza's attorney said he wouldn't go as far to charecturize the evening as a "party" it was more like a small gathering of friends.
  4. I'm also trying to imagine him being at a party with teammates and only hanging out in the yard, having outdoor sex and never entering the house. Him admitting to hooking up consensually outside, but claiming he never stepped foot inside is a little hard to believe.
  5. There's also the possibility that she neither said high school nor college. And just said she went to "Grossmont." Which is both a high school and college. So it was up for interpretation.
  6. I can't agree more... I know I'm going to get eye roll emojis for this. But I could see Brandon Beane resigning over this. While innocent until proven guilty in a court of law is the law of the land, it has nothing to do with the immense damage that has been done to the organization. Anyone that thinks this hasn't been soul crushing for the team is seriously out of touch. The fact is, no one knows Araiza is innocent for certain. Of course he very well may be. But the idea of taking the risk of drafting a guy that may be guilty of this type of allegation should have been a complete non-starter. The fact that they missed this when the San Diego St football team gang rape allegations were floating around pre-draft, and the fact that they spoke to the accusers attorney prior to naming him starter and went ahead and did it anyways is exactly why this will hang over the organization ***** a black cloud for a very long time. Yes, McD said he's in solution mode and there's a lot of work to do. I really respect the way he stood their and bared his soul, as painful as that was for him and as painful as it was to watch. But that was just the tip of the ice berg of what needs to happen to make this right.
  7. This is actually doing the Bills a huge favor. Imagine if they waited three months and this didn't come to light until mid-season? The team has time to get right, do what's right, and then focus on the start of the season.
  8. Anybody else see Alex Anderson stone wall Brian Burns on a few of those reps?
  9. Nice blitz pickup by Cook! Although it was a 15 yard penalty.
  10. Says the guy posting in the Matt Araiza rape allegation thread. Please do spare us your horrid takes.
  11. You wanted them to ignore the accusations. Got it.
  12. You seem to have heard what you wanted to hear.
  13. Rule change, no punts allowed!
  14. I'm in the same boat. But still waiting to know exactly what he told the Bills and when.
  15. In slimy lawyer talk, "you better believe he did" could be defined as "I hope you believe that he did." Not an affirmation that he actually did. So what exactly did he tell the NFL, and what exactly did the Bills know at the time of the draft?
  16. In the allegation, they were two different occurrences. The sex alleged to have happened outside. And the rape alleged to have happened inside. The allegation is that Araiza was the one that brought her to the room to be raped.
  17. I really can't fathom posting your client's journal on Twitter before a case has even begun. This is extraordinarily unprofessional. And yet, it may end up being effective in forcing the legal systems hand to actually look at filing he charges...
  18. It's also a tactic to force attention on the case so that the police and DA do their job. Is seven months a reasonable amount of time to wait for the results of a rape kit test?
  19. Or look at it another way. The girl goes to the hospital and gets a rape kit done seven months ago. And the police don't give her the results. She waits, and waits. And the only thing she can think is that the police are covering for star football players. Then one of them gets drafted into the NFL. Still no results. Then he gets named the starter... Sure, this could all be a "money grab." But Araiza's attorney is saying that at least one of the other players may be charged.
  20. Yeah, no distraction here that has the potential of completely eroding the team's ability to squarely focus on football. 😒
  21. Araiza's attorney is on record last night saying one if Matt's teammates may be charged. Meaning rape may have taken place. Other notes. Attorney claims that Araiza informed the NFL pre-draft that he was being accused. But then walks back what the Bills may have known by saying that they were informed in the last six weeks... What exactly did Matt Araiza inform the NFL of pre-draft? And what specifically did the Bills know? Did they know they would have a player named in a gang tape law suit?
  22. It's 7 months old. And the Bills learned about it from the attorney of the young woman, not from Araiza. He hired a criminal defense attorney, but didn't let the Bills know that he was under investigation and facing a civil suit? I wonder how many Bills players are up thinking/ texting about this at 1:30 am like all of us?
  23. Here's the thing, even if he didn't do anything wrong he appears to have been lawyered up and never reported to the Bills that a woman has been "falsely" accusing him of rape for the past seven months. Unless the Bills are lying and he did disclose during the pre-draft process, Araiza looks like he tried to hide this from the team.
  24. The aspects of the alleged conversation described in the LA Times article come entirely from what the young women has said. The calls themselves have not been released or vetted. The big question I have in all of this is if the Bills only knew about this a month ago, does that mean Ariaza withheld info during the pre-draft interview process?
