  1. It's not a no brainer. I can understand your POV on it. Like I said, nine times out of ten I agree with you. If one player is in the game, Julio, I agree with you. But they no longer have a big play offense. So up seven with three minutes to go is huge. To say it's always a chicken **** call is to not understand different games. This isn't something you check the trade points chart on.
  2. Normally I would go for that. If Julio Jones was in the game or our defense was not playing lights out I go for that. With the game the way it was and defense playing well and Jones\Sanu out, you kick it.
  3. McD has made calculated decisions based on what was happening in the game. We made the plays we made to win the game because that is what we had been doing the whole game previous. Both of the last two games we became conservative because and only because we had been efficient and good on defense. That's why Opie's had the offense go into a shell which kept us for more yards maybe but we win the game because of those decisions. If we weren't so good on defense he wouldn't have gone into a shell because we would have needed the points. I'm not a conservative fan by nature but I totally understood being conservative when they did the last couple games and they won both. So the decisions were good. It doesn't mean they are always going to do that.
  4. I agree about Watkins, but... McD has made calculated decisions based on what was happening in the game. 5. Being conservative would be not going for the 55 yard FG up by three with a little more than two minutes.
  6. Coaches don't coach for stats, they coach for wins. We have no WR. We don't have much of a run game this year. We also scored 49 points in the last two games against two of the top teams in the league. Last week we went into a shell which held back points because we went for the win.
  7. I agree with that. White and Poyer have both been terrific. White made a play today that few rookies ever make. He jumped the pass when it came toward him, went for the pass defense with one hand, missed it, but used his other hand to tackle the receiver who made the short reception and the guy went no right down. That was tremendous. But little plays Hyde makes haven't been given enough play. He's such a sure tackler.
  8. This is the second game in a row, against a top 5-10 team, where all three phases of the game were well prepared and played well overall. When is the last time that happened? We had a late breakdown on one KR return but overall they played fantastic. The offense and defense had good game plans and played well. The kicking game was outrageous. We had a ten minute or so drive. We had some tough penalties but not stupid ones. Again the plays came in on time (the one time the LBs were not set the Falcons scored).
  9. That can be argued. I was okay with the last one that made it a 55 yarder because I thought he was going to nail it (in a dome). But Schop was definitely criticizing the decision to attempt the FG and not the plays before it.
  10. There was a play in the second half when a defender was rushing him without being blocked and Tyrod just basically said "psssh" and avoided him with one step. No one does that. Then he looked downfield and had 2-3 seconds to throw. But he does it so often and easy that we are spoiled and he doesn't get credit for it.
  11. I think most fans knew who he was and were happy we signed him in FA. And Poyer made more highlight plays and Tre White got a lot of well deserved pub, too. But Hyde has been tremendous against the pass and run. And his obvious highlight plays will be discussed a lot. But he makes a lot of other plays as well. We have yet to give up one bomb in four games. He made two tackles on long runs that were hard tackles in the open field that are touchdowns if he misses them. He doesn't see to miss assignments or tackles. They put him back to be a reliable PR returner. He's been lights out, even with other defensive backs being lights out. And he's probably been the best overall player on defense. Many have played well.
  12. We had a PI that hurt us. Against Tre. You were way off.
  13. Everyone's happy with the win, for the most part, but most people don't realize his clapping almost lost it. There were two plays in the fourth quarter, one of which was the Hyde interception where his clapping could have made it a catch. And then the whole game is different. Sure, we won, so I admit the clapping didn't cost us a win. But it would have been a little easier without those UCE's. Those unforced clap errors can kill you as bad as turnovers.
  14. No question you don't do it always. They didn't do it always with Plummer either. But the drop back is way, way easier when the DEs can't just rush hard because they need to worry about keeping TT under control. That's why TT has had time later in the game on straight drops for the most part.
  15. I really don't see how anyone can not say Tyrod played very good if not great today. The difference was clearly turnovers.
  16. Schop was arguing we shouldn't have tried the last 55 yard FG, and tried to back that up by saying it's not like Hauschka was known for kicking 55 yard FGs and that he had made about four 50 yarders before that. Except he had hit 10 in a row before that and this one made 11. And he had just hit a 55 yarder. And the defense was playing great. And the difference between 3 point lead and 6 is obviously enormous.
  17. I hate that call though. Once in awhile okay. But they had guys getting open today. I think you throw to the endzone on that down and distance in this game.
  18. He's effective when he is both. I still don't think he can beat you as a straight drop back. But he's great on rollouts and bootlegs and that allows him to succeed in drop backs. Who would have thought using what your players do well could work?
  19. Dennison ran this the entire game today and worked great. Hats off to him. Outside of relying too much on atolbert, who sucks, Dennison called a great game.
  20. That's such a laughable thought and narrative we had to deal with.
  21. I was looking at the poster above me who referenced the touchdown throw as the one you were talking about. I thought Tyrod was very good this game. He still doesn't get the credit for not turning the ball over. The bomb to clay was insane. He eludes rushers as if they don't even exist sometimes.
  22. That was a great throw. I assume you're joking.
  23. Yep. I don't think it was racial profiling. It may well have been excessive force. We still don't know the whole story. It seems likely that it was somewhere in the middle of what the two sides originally stated. It seems likely Bennett overly played his hand, exaggerated, AND felt most of what he did. It also seems it was part opportunitist because his friends were talking about this so he decided consciously to do what he did to bring attention to it. And it's understandable. But that kind of thing doesn't work very often. It further entrenches both sides. That's mostly conjecture of course.
  24. The video was edited by the police for their PR purposes as well as public knowledge and only showed about one minute what happened to him. Its inconceivable I guess that they would only show the time that helped their cause. Jesus Christ.
