  1. Labatt, The point I was trying to make was generational. If you lived in WNY during the Bills Super Bowl runs and was over 21, there were a number of distasteful rumors around about Jim Kelly. Ask around, I don't want to get into it on the internet. And no, they don't equate to murder. The point I was trying to make is that it is difficult to take a boyhood sports hero, someone you've met more than once- and in my case lived around the corner from- and all of a sudden separate out those feelings. I have to imagine for those of us here who grew up "worshipping" OJ (the 40 plus crowd) that there is not a lot of bile towards OJ but disappointment. In the 70s OJ was the Buffalo Bills. IMO more than Kelly, Thomas, Smith or Reed were. He was the only "good" thing about the Bills and the only reason for positive football attention towards Buffalo. Imagine trying to explain to a 15 year old why Jim Kelly is still a "god" in this town. No matter how hard you try I don't think they would get it.
  2. I'm not going to try to defend OJ but. . . When you are a 10 year old Bills fan and a superstar like OJ lives around the corner, a little bit of hero worship creeps in. (which also explains my Schoenfeld jersey) OJ always treated the neighbor kids spectacularly. He was known to come out and toss the ball around with you and signed countless autographs for kids that just walked up and rang his doorbell. It was heartbreaking to see what he did but its also hard to distance yourself the hero worship of a ten year old. BTW, how many of you heard the rumors about Jim Kelly back in the day but have not let it affect how you feel about him as a Bill?
  3. Well Peter, we must have lived very close to each other because I lived around the corner from OJ on Brandywine. I will second what you said about O.J. being generous with his time. He was always good to the neighborhood kids.
  4. Viva La Mexico! How do we find a way to get her across the border?
  5. I've been searching all over the web for a video of this fight. Any suggestions?
  6. While the Sabres deserved to lose this game due to their playing with a lack of desire, I do have a problem with the officiating. The problem is that it was inconsistent. The 1st period was decent, they let the 2nd get away from them by putting the whistles away and they called everything in the 3rd. The refs need to call a consistent game
  7. Derek Hagan WR Arizona State I've watched almost every ASU game in the past few years and this guy has dominated every team he has played. Until the combine he was a 1st round pick. I realize he is slipping because of his workouts at the Senior Bowl, but look at his achievements in the PAC 10 the Pac-10's all-time leader in career receptions with 258, and finished second in conference history with 3,939 career receiving yards...is seventh on the Pac-10 career receiving touchdowns list with 27...only the 10th player in Pac-10 history to record 3,000 or more yards and 200 or more catches in his career...concluded his career as ASU's all-time leader in receptions, receiving yards, receiving touchdowns, 100-yard games (18) and career receiving yards per game (78.8) And yes, I realize I am completely biased on this issue
  8. Sure, but what's the chance of bumping in to this fine young lady @ UT? She is often seen partying at many of our fine drinking establishments
  9. Let me just say, I couldn't be prouder of my Alma Mater. As the reigning Playboy top party school I couldn't be happier with the upcoming 2006 Playboy party school rankings http://www.ideagrove.com/blog/2005/11/is-b...oys-top-10.html]here[/url] It's the whole reason I spent money on my education. Hey, we can't win a big bowl game, we might as well out party everyone else. Oh, and BTW, you got to love when your student body pres is suspended for performing in a porn and then one of your cheerleaders does on as well. safe for work Go Devils!!!!

  11. Isn't it amazing how much you love someone you just met? My parents made a lot more sense to me after my daughter was born, and after her birth, I promptly apologized to the both of them for everything I put them through

  18. I'm sure this won't suprise anyone, but I would LOVE to pick up Hagen anywhere in the draft. As someone who has watched a ton of ASU games, I would agree with SACTOBILLSFAN that he is an EM type reciever. Hagen was a first round pick before the combine and whne you look at his production with the Devils DH dominated game in and Game out. If I'm not mistaken, he holds a number of recieving records at both ASU and in the PAC 10 Go Devils!
  19. Funny thing is I was just saying this to my wife. Maybe when she does her first video for MTV Mandisa will be replaced with a thin model. Thin C&C Music factory ( Obviously people under a certain age will not know that one of the "It's raining Men" singers sang on the Song Sweat and was replaced with a hot & skinny model)
  20. Another example of how people think pilfering tax dollars is like hitting the lottery
