  1. I welcome all the new members. I just ask they take heart to Mr. Vargas's plea in Fast Times at Ridgemont High. Mr. Vargas : [before he and his class enter the operating room] I just want to ask you one last time. Please conduct yourselves with the utmost maturity. [the class files in, but pulls Spicoli aside] Mr. Vargas : Hey, you in my class? Jeff Spicoli : I am today.
  2. I couldn't agree more. I just mentioned in the Gabe Davis thread about him on GMFB that he was a A+ pick as a 4th rounder. I guess my point is, hoping to improve by big free agents is not the way I see Beane going. The draft will be the hope of the future. I'm not saying Beane will not get a guy in FA he feels he needs to target it's just dumping the old guys for a new bunch of new FAs is probably not going to happen.
  3. Drafting Gabe was an extremely big hit for Beane and his team. I hope like hell that they find another Day 3 WR in this year's draft!
  4. I agree with a lot of your points but this 2023 big cap raise will be totally eaten up by Josh's raise. All things being equal Josh has a $23.4M cap jump in 2023.
  5. The Chiefs will keep their big star players for next season but they got a tough off season in front of them. They got a lot of UFAs especially after doing a lot of restructures and signing a lot of one year contracts on the cheap. Comparing overall talent IMO will have to wait IMO until we see what kind of team they field next year.
  6. I don't see much if any. Josh is under his 5th year option this year. His big hits don't start until 2023. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/buffalo-bills/josh-allen-25102/
  7. Currently 53 contracts but 2 (Sanders and Addison) have Void year contracts that will turn into Dead Money soon. Josh has a hit of $16.4M this coming year and that goes up to $39.8M in 2023.
  8. A guy like Williams is tricky. After paying Dead Cap they save $5.6M. I'm not sure you get replacement player who is a big upgrade for that money.
  9. Good chance that Diggs gets an extension this year and after it's over this year's savings could be close to your savings.
  10. I said above when teams had to be under the cap. Bills cap money is what it is so I don't see how it doesn't matter? The cap space of $2.8M is after the agreed upon raise. Cap for this year is $208.2M. This number was agreed upon between the NFL and the NFLPA earlier last year. Here is the link for the league. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/cap/
  11. No doubt Brandon Beane and his guys are back at work preparing for next season. Draft Combine starts March 1st and the Free Agency Negotiating starts March 14th. Beane will need to open space up for re-signing some of their own so decisions with some of the vets will be coming soon. No time for self-flagellation. The Top 51 Cap starts March 16th. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/buffalo-bills/cap/
  12. LOL, I had the clip below pictured as I read your post. Reading some of these hot takes today makes me feel better. I was so disappointed the last 2 days but it's over for me. Time to dust myself off and look forward not back. I guess some fans want McDermott and the coaches holding their playbooks walking through downtown Buffalo like this........... LOL.
  13. After all of the hard physical and mental effort that players put in all year long AND a Buffalo team with evidently such love for each other that our disappointment as fans can't compare to them. IMO.
  14. Yes, numb is right. Been a fan since the AFL Championships too. I ask myself how do they come back from this? There is always X's and O's, player personnel and coaching changes and all the other stuff to be discussed but this will come down to their character. I will support them as a fan and hope they can do it again. This time hopefully in Orchard Park.
  15. I won't recover until after the Super Bowl. Josh Allen must feel like Willem Dafoe's character in Platoon. He gave it his all. I do hope that all the Bills players can help each other through this.
  16. Classy move. I have to refrain myself today too about certain things. I see all these threads about what do the Bills do next and stuff like that and I'm thinking "the corpse of the season is still warm" what the hell are you people doing? LOL, this loss hurts me still but everyone is feeling something different depending on who they are as a person.
  17. OK this thread has turned into a "fist fight at a funeral". I'll bow out while I still can.
  18. Yep and the ending is still surreal even now.
  19. Bills fans have said this before. LOL, but this thread does remind me of a line from Gran Torino. Walt Kowalski: "No we don't have any jumper cables. Have some respect, we're mourning in here"!
  20. I still got the words of a Linda Ronstadt song in me. "I think it's going to hurt me, for a long, long time". But thanks Steptide, this too shall pass. Can that please be next year!
  21. I did think of both options but truthfully my brain was overloaded I didn't know what I wanted them to do.
  22. Looks like they both still had things to teach us. I will tell her what you said.
  23. I do too. The team and the fans had their hearts ripped out last night. I wanted to text the brothers and nephews after the last Bills TD that #13 scored with 13 seconds left but I literally thought "No, don't jinx it".
  24. After the game I called my 89 year old mother to make sure she was OK. She was crying. She asked me "Why can't the Bills win one? The other one's (Chiefs) already have one". I didn't have an answer for her. Her empathy for Josh Allen was so touching I teared up. After the call I turned off my phone. Edit: @Long Suffering Fan Thank you and your board name says it all today.
