The refs did take a TD off the board against the Jags with a tick tack offensive hold. Again it was 95 % two bad poorly coached teams and a little of the ususal ref errors.

I never wanted Darnold. He was bad under pressure at USC against bad Pac12 defenses. He will probably be a capable QB but I dont think he will be a star. He doesn't have the arm of Stafford nor the accuracy of Wilson or Brady. Maybe he is a Rivers type but probably more like Dalton.

Lawson has been solid but not great all year. PED Murphy has been awful or hurt. Lawson should see twice as many snaps as Murphy every game.

Full disclosure I wanted Allen over every other QB (Rosen second) and posted such before the draft. I thought Allen played well but not great today. Positives: Stood tall in the pocket and kept his eyes downfield. Did not put the ball in harms way. Threw the ball away when that was the right play. Made several athletic plays. Managed the huddle and clock well. Energy and enthusiasm was great again. The TD throw was great but the two first downs called back were just as good. Solid professional throws. Same goes for the simple out pattern for a first down on third down deep in Bills territory. Excellent read and throw. That is a pick-six with Peterman at QB, maybe Barkely too. Negatives: For as many times as he stood tall in the pocket, he also looked jittery too. The Jags front is good and the Bills OL is awful so it is to be a bit expected. First game back too. Hope to see more calm feet over the next few games. Timing on sideline throws was off. I don't know if that is WR or QB. Allen looked like he was putting the ball at the down marker and the WR was running a step or two beyond the marker. Needs to slide or run out of bounds more. I wonder if there were some dump offs he missed on some plays where he ran or threw the ball away. I didn't see a single check down all day. It was mostly 1 or 2 reads and then panic/run. I still think Allen is the best of the 2018 class especially given the OL and WR he has. They should have let him go play action on first and goal late in the game. Let the kid throw for a TD. The running is fine but he needs to keep developing as a passer. He has all the tools and just needs more game experience.

OMG you people are ridiculous. Did you watch the game or just listen on the radio? The only call that was even questionable was the Taron Johnson holding. That was bad but he did grab a little jersey. I thought Bortles had already started to leave the pocket though and it shouldn't have been called. All the other penalties were legit especially the hands to the face on Bodine. Christ he bent his head back further than Kennedy's head was blown back. The Bills have been top 3 in penalties all year. Probably will be worst in the league after this weekend. It's on the coaches and the players. Was 12 men on the field Walt Coleman's fault? Be objective. If I missed another iffy call point it out. But I watched every play. Hughes pushed the guy in the back on the Milano INT. He didn't need to. All he needed to do was just stand there and let Milano run past him. But he pushed the guy down right in front of the refs. Miller tackled the guy on the inside rush. He blocked him perfectly at the start and then tackled him for no reason. All he had to do was keep pushing him but he wrapped his arms around him. Please tell me the calls that the refs were wrong? They did botch the goal line calls(2 of the 3) but those weren't flags. Two bad teams with bad coaching.

53:20 TD:INT ratio will be tough to beat. In 8 games Rosen has 9 TD and 10 INT already. Darnold already has 14 INT in 9 games. They both have a long way to go to be better than TT. Mayfield and Allen so far have protected the football reasonably well. And all of them have worse YPA than TT's career average. But who knows it is early...

Did you watch the third play from scrimmage two weeks ago?

Seriously what is wrong with these people that want more Ivory. He has not been good for years. He hasn't even been good in short yardage situations this year. He is a fine pass blocker. He has good body lean. But he has one run over 20 yards all year. Watch all the players not just the guy with the ball. Watch the run blocking. It was terrible all day. Clay is a far superior in-line blocker than Croom and the interior line was beaten most of the day. I love Ivory's effort too. But don't mistake running hard into the back of a guard as talent. Shady is still great. The O-line is a mess. Keep taking shots downfield and replace Bodine, Miller, and Mills next year. Shady will put up 1200 yards.
