Goff had talent in college as a passer. Allen had arm strength and mobility everything else was suspect has there ever been a college QB who was a "project" with accuracy, footwork, reading defenses that just one day got nfl good?

I want him to be good but it doesn't look that way. everyone comparing manning, Kelly, Elway rookie struggles to Allen's seem to miss that those dudes were slinging it. throwing picks and losing but piling up yards and TDs along the way. 80 yards for an entire game of football is terrible

Allen struggles to read defenses, holds the ball and then looks to run. he certainly doesn't look like a QB you take top 10

I'm pretty terrible at judging an NFL QB coming out of college. I liked Ryan Mallet, I liked Johnny football, thought Goff was going to suck, same with Cam. It's got to be the hardest position in all of sports to evaluate talent from college to pros.. that being said, I think Josh Allen looks terrible. reminds me of J. Russel big arm and not much of anything else other than "upside"..

I dont think they are desperate. I think they want AJ and Nate to compete for the starting spot while developing a rookie. Falk, Rudolph, Jackson seem to fit the not top 10 pick but still something to work with mold
