When your defense is already down giving the other team the ball 3 or 4 times makes for games where you need 6 TD's. Look at our losses and tell me turnovers don't matter.

Allen's manic play is as large a part of our manic wins and losses as anything else. We turn the ball over multiple times and games are much harder than they need to be. Defense failed at a lot of things but they did get a couple turnovers and they may well have been the difference in the game even with Allen's 6 TDs.

I'm going to put on my flame suit here but I hope they bring Logue in to sure up the DT's. We need someone in the middle who doesn't get pushed around. -

Maybe there's some truth to the idea that we've run so much Allen has been out of rhythm. Maybe he just needs to come out and throw 40 plus passes to get back into his right head space. -

Allen has been pretty bad all day. He's made 2 bad throws for every good one. Hopefully he snaps out of it as the game goes on. -
QTR 2 Cook doesn't fumble and we score it's 13 to 7. QTR 3 Allen throws a TD instead of a pick it's 14 to 16. QTR 4 we score the TD and it's 21 to 16 us. Allen doesn't fumble and Achane doesn't score the TD two plays later it's either still 21 to 16 or even 24 to 16 us. We were not stopped all game. We turned the ball over instead of scoring when we had the chance both in the first half and the second half.

People aren't wrong when they complain about our wideouts. I'm also not going to argue that Brady game plans to the TE's and running game but A: he's pretty successful with it and B what the hell else would he do with this roster?
-
Except that fundamental system that's broken scores 30 points a game. Then when it doesn't everyone says it's broken but it's also the same game where they have a handful of turnovers and dropped passes. I get it we don't throw bombs to WR's and that makes a number of people on here nuts but if I'm Brady I'm doing the best I can with what I've got. I'm not sure anyone else is doing any better with this group.

2 of our turnovers were in the red zone and the 3rd would have been a first down just outside of FG range. We were moving the ball. We just turned it over too much.
-
Or ......... oddly enough ........ when we turn the ball over a lot we don't score as many points. 4 of Allens 5 picks are in losses and I haven't even looked up fumbles.
-
So are you saying Allen couldn't have made the throw? Cook doesn't fumble in the red zone and Allen hits the TD here it's at worst 17 to 10 or Cook doesn't fumble and we score a TD it's 16 to 14 if Allen throws a TD here. Mind you we score again at the beginning of the 4th and it's 21 to 16 us. The next fumble from Allen Achane took to the house two plays later so it's not impossible to imagine that if Allen doesn't fumble you not only could add 3 points for us but take 7 off the board for Miami and we scored another TD after that. For all the pointing at Brady there were plenty of points left on the field.
-
It doesn't help that our defense gives up huge plays on the regular. Bend but don't break has turned into hold onto the ball on offense as much as you can because our defense is a snap away from a sixty yard TD run.
-
Cook fumbling just outside the red zone. We left 3 scores on the field and 2 of the turnovers led directly to points.
-
11 drives and we had 3 three and outs. We had more first downs than Miami.
-
If KC isn't good on defense then how come teams are only averaging 17.7 points against them and only one team has scored as many points as we did against them?
-
If they're simple to stop then how come minus us turning the ball over they are not stopping us? The common denominator is turnovers. When we turn the ball over we score less points. Crazy I know.
-
Simple to stop? We scored 13 on two long TD passes. We were in scoring position multiple other times and turned the ball over. We could have easily scored 3 more times just by not turning the ball over. Cook didn't have his usual explosive runs but was still averaging over 4 a carry and Allen threw for 300. Just don't turn the ball over. NE we turned the ball over. Atlanta we turned the ball over. Not every game are going to be cake walks and our defense gives up a ton of big plays but any week this offense doesn't turn the ball over we generally score 25 to 30 points.
-
Not saying the guy is perfect but we came in to this game averaging roughly 30. Tell me how many points we have in this game if we don't turn the ball over 3 times. At least 25 to 30 again this week. If you were Brady where would you try to be throwing the ball? Honestly so much concern around Brady when most of the problems are fumbles, interceptions, and penalties. Yet here we are scoring almost 30 on the Chiefs.

This regime is bad at picking offensive coordinators
Maine-iac replied to Roundybout's topic in The Stadium Wall
If only we could find the coaches to get this offense to turn the ball over all the time and still score 30. That's really the only time the offense fails when they're turning it over multiple times and leaving points on the field but that's definitely not on the players. It's Brady's fault. -
Browning played the Vikings, Broncos, and Detroit back to back. Two out of the three are top ten in passing yards allowed and Detroit is in the top 12. Flacco had some good games against the Bears who top ten worst and the Steelers who are dead last against the pass. All just a hunch but I'm guessing Flacco will come back down to earth when he plays better teams regardless of how good his WR's are. I don't think Browning is great but I think he got thrown in versus much better pass defenses. By the end of the season I think it will be much more of a toss up as to whether Flacco made any difference. He hasn't put a ton of Ws in the win column. Funny thing is Burrows came into the league as a a mobile QB. He's just so injury prone and he plays in an offense where he gets hit like the used to in the Mike Martz days.
-
Honestly part of Burrows availability problem is probably due to the fact that they throw it so much. The guy takes 40 or 50 sacks a year and that's nowhere near how many times he gets hit. Maybe if they could run the ball and control the line of scrimmage Burrow would be around when they need him to throw to those high dollar WR's.

Many mentioning Poyer as a mentor and I'll buy into that. I also have to wonder if McD has taken a much larger role in calling the defense if that isn't also making a huge difference in our Safety play. As Poyer and Hyde aged out and our safety play got worse and worse I assumed that Hamlin was limited and Bishop was green. McD had always been known as a safety whisperer of sorts and now he's taken a larger role in our defense I feel like I can see that. While it bodes well that our secondary can in fact cover someone it also shows the huge drop off in coaching if McD isn't as involved.
