Oh absolutely. The past is always predicative of the future... :)

The funny thing is, I had remembered Scott Chandler's fumble in OT happening "with the playoffs on the line." When I looked it up, a win would have made us 5-7 at that point.

My oh my have things changed.

Stevie Johnson also had a critical drop in that Toronto game if I'm not mistaken.

Still remember hoping against hope as we mounted a comeback that Manuel could be the answer lol

Almost no QB can.  Lemur may be able to run better, Br*dy might be able to fake better, but no QB has his complete package including willing to learn.

Truth, and can you believe this guy plays for Buffalo?

The Bills WILL win a championship with Josh Allen. He played like a savant today

I don’t know I think if the D actually stops the Bills on that last drive, or Jackson actually holds onto the ball he leads them for the go ahead TD.. that doesn’t mean they win but I think he would have.. but then again the D sucked for the Pats.. (and probably because Allen made them look that way)

Classy. I loved Bill's acknowledgment of Allen's performance at the end.

Mac had a rough day, but these 2 organizations are now actual foes. We will enjoy many more riveting games like this until Belichick hangs it up

This is correct. At least for the past 20 years or so. Hopefully times are a changing.

The funny part is Pats "fans" are such pathetic frontrunner bandwagon types.

I can almost guarantee the average Bills fan knows more about the Pats history than their own supporters. Steve Grogan, Andre Tippett, Garin Veris, Fred Marion, et al are probably complete unknowns to the average chowderhead.

The Pats are likely to be in better shape than the narrative suggested at the beginning of this week.

Bourne is vaxxed and was showing no symptoms, and Stevenson finished the Colts game. They'll be close to full strength. We need Dawkins and Sanders back, and (crosses fingers) no more positive tests.

I'll say it again, because many probably skimmed past it:

I read -- ( https://apnews.com/article/kathy-hochul-sports-nfl-business-buffalo-bills-77b347e94170316c76a9c9bd380b80ae ) -- that the plan for the new stadium in Orchard Park is to be built in such a way as to protect the field and the fans from the winds and the elements, similar to Seattle's stadium. I've attended a game there late in the year, and despite it being a cold and windy day, you couldn't really tell from the stands.

This type of construction doesn't COMPLETELY mitigate the cold, but it makes it VASTLY more tolerable than it is at Highmark Stadium.

Here's the pertinent quote from the Wawrow article above: "The new venue would not include a roof, but it would be designed so that a majority of the seats would be protected from the elements, the person said."

Because if the Bills end up at 10-7, assuming a loss to NE (which if we win none of this matters much), you want as many teams as possible to get to under 10 wins.  The chances of a 7-7 team, or a 7-6-1 team in the case of Pitt-- winning out are small, particularly how many teams at 8-6/7-7 play each other, are very small. Stated differently, this outcome increases the chances that 10-7 gets in irrespective of tiebreakers.

Or to take it a step further, it increases the likelihood that team(s) that could potentially beat us in a tiebreaker scenario have more overall losses than us

The Bills can always just win the east.  Easy peasey.

Of course but we could play a strong game and still lose against Belichick. It's football.

Would sure be nice to have a backup route to the postseason where anything can happen.

The Browns winning does not drastically hurt Bills playoff chances. It bumps us this week , but winning our last two games gets us in most scenarios.

We need two of the three AFC north teams to finish with 8 losses (sans Pittsburgh, who is toast).

This definitely makes that harder to happen

  10. I believe someone mentioned this earlier, but now that the Bengals won today we should root for them against Baltimore next week.

With a victory, Cincy would be 4-1 in the division and 7-3 in the AFC which would put them in a strong position to win the division (and completes a season sweep of the Ravens). They are the last team of the 3 AFC North foes we want to be competing against for the WC.

I will let you lament with your vision of the playoff picture.

I would however recommend that you read the tie-breaker rules for multiple teams tied for a wildcard spot.

I know the rules for the tiebreaker buddy. Care for me to explain them to you?

The Ravens have a meat grinder for a schedule. I believe they finish at 9-8.

The Browns have the Raiders.....then at Green. ay, Pittsburgh and at Cincy. I definitely see two losses there.

I agree but unfortunately they might be the least of our concerns and we would still need more help in a 10-7 scenario.

What would really be great is if a team like the Chargers would slip up and lose an unthinkable Jags like game, such as at the Texans next week

Well for all you % making the playoffs fans IF the Ravens lose to the Bengals next week their number is 27%.

They also have to play the Rams and Steelers.

I hope this doesn't come into play, but if we lose to the Pats it's not enough to say, "Well, the Ravens are on the ropes".

The Chiefs, Pats, Colts, Chargers and Titans are virtual locks to get into the postseason. One of the Ravens, Browns, or Bengals will win the AFC North. Of the remaining two, the Bills will most likely need both to get to 8 losses if we finish 10-7 and want to get in as a WC.

Our odds are basically a flip of a coin if we don't win out
