  1. He has become a #2 possession receiver and those numbers, while not great, definitely help move the sticks.
  2. If you're going to make adjustments to Price's stats based on factors beyond his control, do the same for Moulds. Moulds played with a crap QB, a horrible offensive line and a team with a very marginal running game. With that being said, I think Price is not a good #2 WR for this team. Price's game is predicated on speed. We already have that in Evans and Parrish and what we really need lining up opposite Lee Evans is a big, strong receiver who makes tough catches in traffic. Hopefully the coaches will give Josh Reed a chance to take the #2 spot away because I think he's better suited for it.
  3. Wow. How about the fact that David Carr sucks and Kubiak is going to replace him? If the Texans had a decent QB, Moulds would have had better numbers. So let's multiply Moulds' stats by 1.5x.
  4. Seriously. Just becuase some blowhard in the media says he was ineffective as the #2 doesn't mean he actually was. David Carr sucks. Plain and simple and the Texans will be replacing him sooner rather than later.
  5. 29-19. What a loser.
  6. ... and then when asked about TO, he goes: "Terrell Owens (there, I said his name)"
  7. Dude, how many times do you need to read this to realize what happened? Try again: RALPH WILSON MANDATED THAT THE BILLS KEEP ROB JOHNSON. One of the main reasons Ralph fired Wade was because Wade Phillips wanted to keep Flutie over Johnson. That is fact.
  8. Call it what you want but I for one won't allow former Bills greats to be compared to Willis in any way.
  9. How does he compare ON THE FIELD with those guys? Oh yeah... that doesn't matter in this thread, does it?
  10. Moreso than having no receivers, he has no consistency on offense. The receiving corps in New England has been a revolving door since Brady came into the league. Contrast that to Manning, who has had the same offensive coordinator and worked with the same receivers for quite a few years running. Nevertheless, both QBs are good at what they do -- to short change either is just pure lunacy.
  11. uhhh yeah... Retaining by declaring him as the franchise player would mean losing him last year.
  12. I think he was in actuality agreeing with you. But you are correct. It was totally boneheaded. For all the flak Donahoe takes around here, he at least understood this concept.
  13. A lot can happen in a year. For example: right now, Samuel and Clements' value couldn't be any higher. Suppose the Pats exercise the franchise tag on Samuel next year and he has an "off year" or maybe misses a few weeks on injury. Or, perhaps the following year has an over supply of capable corners on the market. Those types of things can alter the value. Bottom line is that delaying the decision is ALWAYS in the team's favor. Seattle once upon a time appeared to have absolutely zero hope of signing Walter Jones... they bought some time by using the tag 2 years in a row and then finally agreed on a long-term deal. Coming into a new situation, to take the team's best player on defense and just let him walk for free was just not smart for a team already struggling to afford top-notch talent.
  14. per Chris Brown, the Bills promised Clements that they would not apply the franchise OR transition tag on Clements so he is a lock to hit the free agent market with no compensation coming back to the Bills. Mark this as THE stupidest move by Marv and Co... the franchise tag was specifically designed for situations like these so that teams can have a certain degree of leverage in retaining their own players. To agree to forgo all options for leverage was flat out dumb, no matter how you try and spin it. Watch the Patriots franchise Asante Samuel this offseason. It's a microcosm of where Bills' management is compared to organizations like the Pats. http://buffalobills.com/blog/index.jsp?blogger_id=1
  15. The Pats have 2 first round picks. A number of mocks even have Patrick Willis falling into their laps at #22! So I think they will be fine at LB, replacing aging vets with young talent. As for Corey Dillon, that's why they drafted Maroney last season. And unlike the Bills, they didn't foolishly promise their starting #1 corner to NOT use the franchise tag, thereby virtually guaranteeting that Samuel returns for another season.
  16. Not really, but with their astute drafting, I wouldn't bet against the Pats when they have 2 first rounders.
  17. With 2 first round picks in this years draft, they still have a ways to go.
  18. Don't tell that to some on this board, who feel he's a "system qb" who has only luck on his side.
  19. There is no question about it --- this was a botched draft by Marv and Co. While everyone here can gush all they want about Whitner, drafting him at #8 was far too high, ESPECIALLY if the Denver offer was on the table. Whitner will turn out to be a solid player in this league but with the number of needs this team had going into the draft, they really messed up a chance to improve the team by acquiring more picks in a very deep draft. Instead of accumulating picks, the Bills surrendered them, moving back into the first round and giving up a 3rd to take the vastly overrated McCargo.
  20. LOL So true... and don't forget the required "tight end prospect" in the middle rounds that ends up doing nothing. Euhus, Everett, Lonnie Johnson, etc..
  21. It's nice to see that you're passionate about this issue, but I don't see this as a zero-sum game. Yes, Brady benefits from a great coaching staff and a stout defense -- which is why you (incorrectly, IMO) label him a "System QB" who would stink up the joint on another team. Yes, Manning benefits from continuity on the offensive side of the ball and top-notch skill players at virtually every offensive skill position. I find it interesting that you are willing to dismiss Brady's success as a QB and attribute it largely to external factors that a dime-a-dozen "System QB" could succeed in; yet on the flip side, you find it difficult to acknowledge that Manning also has his share of factors working in his favor, among which include the continuity in coaching, talent around him, and playing indoors. My conclusion: both are great quarterbacks that know their individual capabilities so well, that they have found a way to maximize them to the nth degree. Both command the respect of their teammmates and opponents alike. But if you ask defensive players around the league (and I have), they will tell you that nobody can attack a defense's weaknesses quite like Brady.... and nobody can "find" a way to win quite like Brady. With that being said, Manning put on a hell of a show on Sunday and deserved to win. But if you're trying to say that Brady is a dime-a-dozen System QB who has won 3 Super Bowl rings and has a 12-2 record in the playoffs, you're going to hear an argument from me.
  22. Close your eyes, Bill from NYC http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2007/writ...art2/index.html
  23. He'd do better than Peyton Gump, that's for sure!
  24. That was all fixed after Polian cried like a sissy to the league office after the Colts lost to the Pats (yet again)
