  1. That's pretty f'ed up. Don't clown on the dead.
  2. I'm from the Bay Area... a whole bunch of us went to the Raiders game during Weed 2. There's a group that gets together and watches Bills games each week at the Northstar in downtown SF. I won't be attending the 9ers game, as I'll be back east for the holidays. Otherwise, I'd totally be there
  3. Not to mention the immeidate impact of Sean Taylor for the Redskins Defense.
  4. Wrong. For Jonas, he said he's "like" to have him back. That can mean anything. He said the same thing about Peerless. For Moulds, he said that they plan to have him finish his career in Buffalo. That makes it clear where he stands.
  5. Lucas H. (Des Moines, IA): I wanted to know if you have had any conversations with Eric Moulds since his comments about rethinking his future. I don't want to think about a Bills team without Moulds. I don't even know what they'd be. TD: From time to time all players become frustrated during a season. Eric Moulds probably gets frustrated more than others because he is so competitive by nature. We plan to have Eric finish his career as a Buffalo Bill and help us accomplish our goals. Eric is one of our premier players and he provides a great example for our young individuals with regard to his professionalism and his work ethic.
  6. For real. Anyone who wants to run our only playmaker out of town has some serious problems.
  7. You will never get that here, trust me. If you show any form of pessimism after a win, it is heresy. If you show any sign of optimism after a loss, it is heresy. Welcome to TSW.
  8. Didn't say it wasn't a need. But Donahoe made his offseason moves under the guise that Drew Bledsoe can be fixed. He was wrong.
  9. What about this fact: Excluding the first 3-13 season with the salary cap purge, the Donahoe regime has fielded a 17-24 team. That is a fact about Donahoe's tenure in Buffalo. If this was Arizona or some other team that doesn't spend money and make the moves to win, such mediocrity is palpable. However, in Buffalo, that is not the case. Simon brought up a lot of facts regarding his tenure in Pittsburgh, where Donahoe did a great job. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said of his job here. Bottom line.
  10. He actually did put the blame elsewhere. At the end of last season, he said Drew took too much criticism for stuff that wasn't his fault and the coaches should have stepped in and taken the blame. Moreover, he went onto say that the offensive line was not giving him time to throw. All GMs make a bad decision here and there. Even the best of the best do. And Donahoe made his mistake in the Bledsoe trade. Nevertheless, here's the problem I have. He has essentially based his actions over the past year and a half under the premise that Drew isn't broken and that he can and will lead this team to the playoffs. Thats why he hired offensive minded coaches to recussitate him and that's why he drafted Lee Evans. Bottom line: this is a cold-hearted business. If your player is not producing for more than a half season you have to make a change, unless he is young and developing, of which Bledsoe is neither. In Tampa, Brad Johnson led them to a Super Bowl. Merely a year and a half later, Gruden KNOWS this guy is done and did everything he could this offseason to acquire Jeff Garcia and has now relegated him to the bench. That's how it works. Good GMs and coaches realize when things aren't working and address it quickly. I havent seen that with Donahoe here. Given that it is the single most important position in professional sports, that worries me a bit.
  11. To summarize: Drew made the line look worse than it actually was. He had to step up this game to keep the defense honest and open up holes for the running game and he didn't. Blame Drew, as his field vision and his tendency to make mistakes at crucial situations did this team in. Who acquired Drew Bledsoe for a first round pick? Tom Donahoe Who -- despite it being plainly obvious that Drew Bledsoe was maddeningly inconsistent and too slow (in mind and body) for today's NFL -- STUCK with Bledsoe and blamed just about everyone else on his failure to produce? Tom Donahoe Who spent a high first round pick on Lee Evans under the notion that the WR corps at present was not sufficient and what Drew Bledsoe was truly lacking last year was a deep threat to stretch the field? Tom Donahoe That is where I cast blame on him. He made a move in acquiring Bledsoe which at the time was a superb one. Bledsoe put up one of the best half-seasons I have seen. But since then, he has been nothing but mediocre AT BEST. For Donahoe to still stick by him, and continue to insist that the offense's shortcomings are attributable to other players and coaching but NOT Drew Bledsoe -- to me, that signals the sign of a poor Team President.
  12. Drew is done. It's over. Time to start planning for the future. We have great pieces in place. Let them play, let them develop. It will pay off. Any thoughts that this team is good are purely delusional. They play well against poor teams, average against mediocre teams and completely roll over on the road. Not the sign of a successful season. While much of the hysteria on this board may be overboard, one thing remains clear: Bledsoe's play has shown crystal clear that he is beyond redemption.
  13. Yeah agreed. I am left with no choice. Moulds is my favorite player so I was hoping I could justify a reason to trade him, but since Wheatley is my only undisputed starter at RB, I will have to hold onto him DAMMIT!
  14. WRs are: Harrison Peerless Price Jerry Porter Antonio Bryant Drew Bennett
  15. Would you do it? Problem is, here are my other backs: Jamal Lewis Travis Henry Mewelde Moore TJ Duckett William Green
  16. It's a pleasure reading his columns. What an excellent writer.
  17. People, relax. Why is he a troll??? Because he thinks his team is going to win??? OF COURSE HE F*_ING thinks his team is going to win. They have won 2 Super Bowls in 3 years and have for the most part, dominated the Bills every time they meet. The Bills have yet to play well on the road. Drew Bledsoe continues to make mistakes. And yes, McGee got torched last week and without Vincent, our secondary IS a concern, especially if the Pats spread the offense with 4 WRs. That said, the Bills played with them for most of the game 4 weeks ago and were competitive. However, that was at HOME. This is on the ROAD. The Bills have been playing better of late. It will be close, but I still think the Pats are the favorites, and rightfully so. Until this team proves it can win in hostile environments it will always remain that way.
  18. You're kidding right? Up until this week, they had beaten the Dolphins and Cardinals. The only decent team the Bills have beaten was the Jets. They have yet to win a road game in 3 tries. If they win at NE this week, THEN you'll see a significant jump in the PR's. I think they are at the right spot.
  19. Agreed. GW is clearly nowhere near the head coach or coordinator Fox was and is
  20. I couldn't have said it better. This is what I was trying to get at, but 1billsfan doesn't seem to get it. From a value standpoint, the Bills gave this year's #2 and next year's #1 for the right to choose Losman. That is simply not a smart way to do business and reaks of a GM who was trying to make a splash with his job on the line. It's like charging way too much on your credit card on something you clearly cannot afford. The team should have decided what direction it was going to take. If Lee Evans is "that" good, then find your quarterback in the later rounds. It has been done before. Alternatively, if acquiring the QB of the future was a priority, then find a receiver in later rounds. (Read: Anquan Boldin). But you don't overpay for one player. Winning teams NEVER do that. Minnesota gave up a King's ransom to acquire Herschel Walker. Dallas made out like a bandit and it proved to be key building blocks for their Super Bowl run. New Orleans gave up their whole draft for Ricky Williams. Look where they are now!!!
  21. Agreed. There was once upon a time when Heath Shuler and Ryan Leaf were considered bright spots for their respective franchises. Donahoe basically filled our team with a bunch of expensive question marks.
  22. How the hell do you know this? Josh Reed was supposed to be a productive NFL receiver. After 3 years, the jury is still out. David Terrell, JJ Stokes, Peter Warrick the list goes on and on for receivers chosen with high first round picks that never materialized. That said, I like Lee Evans and think he is the real deal. BUT.. bottom line, drafting Losman and signing Stokeley would have allowed us to keep our first rounder from next year while providing help on the opposite side. Then next year, we can draft that receiver of the future. I think keeping your first rounders is better than throwing them away.
  23. Yes. Stokeley you smartass. Stokeley is currently ranked #8 in the AFC in receiving yards and he came cheap. Lee Evans has done very little for us this year and is being paid quite a bit. Teams who make headlines on draft day never win. It's the teams that make smart free agent pickups and obtain solid veterans at a bargain price that do win. Read: Patriots.
