All well and good but, now I am feeling like Cooper DeJean is about to be the pick at 33. Then I think they go WR by trading up from #60.  Depending on who is available they may also grab another WR in 3 or 4.

Personally I think Worthy will be a bust as he is too small to take NFL hits.

Agree on Worthy. However it's amazing how the laundry one wears can change my perception on a player. Had the Bills picked him he would be the best pick ever and a non violent version of Tyreek. But the Chiefs picked him so I believe he's going to be a Mecole Hardman/Marquise Goodwin hybrid.😂

Dude, i got wicked ADHD and can barely make it through reading the first sentence of anything before my mind goes in 12 different directions (as you may or may not have seen in my previous posts where i begin with one thought and end up completely off the tracks).

I have no problem with what our FO did last night. I'm just saying that i was hoping for a little more sizzle in the pan in the first round from any franchise last night.....that's it.

I went into it expecting trades, wheeling and dealing, franchises in shambles, crying, picking up the broken pieces, etc......i saw a predictable 1st round and there's nothing wrong with that.

I'm the type of guy that hangs out around the highway overpass, just waiting for 2 cars to collide......it never happens, but it could.......maybe one day, it could. Same thing with the first round of every draft, just waiting for something big to happen......

......across the board, it was a very safe, predictable first round

At least you got the Penix to the Falcons pick. That was one heck of a car wreck🤣

So, this draft actually kind of fell just about where everyone thought it would......except the Bills not making a move for a WR, Penix going to the Falcons (still a head scratcher), but regardless, not a whole lot of surprises or teams jockeying for position.

I was hoping for the draft of a lifetime..........in my opinion, this day one was a dud.

Just curious, my friend. Are you the kind of person that reads the first paragraph of a book and says "Nope, this book is bad" and tosses it aside? Or watch 5 minutes of a movie and say..."Wow, what a dud" and turn it off?

Instead of reaching on a WR or S/CB or DT that they didn't likely have valued at a round 1 pick they used round 1 to set up round 2. Let the day play out today. It could very possibly turn out bad, sure. But where we had 1 day 2 pick we now have 3 and the ammunition to slide as far up as we want at any given time. And I don't think they are done moving back. I don't see them picking at 33. I'm saying they make another small trade back with Washington and increase their pick value even more before unleashing hades on the next 2 rounds.

I hear you. The Bills certainly could have taken him themselves. The need and value was there. They could have started with Carolina there and tried to get them to come up for Worthy. SF could have targeted him too.

At the end of the day, you had to take the deal if you didn’t want to draft him. The nonsense about only worrying about your own draft board is BS though. The Bills do need to be concerned about what KC is doing. That’s the team that has knocked you out 3 times.

I thought Beane made a very valid point last night. Let's say for the sake of argument the Bills weren't going to take Worthy. Let's say they saw the best value on the board was DeJean and took him. I see those as both being very plausible. Kansas City probably still moves up somewhere and ends up with Worthy anyways. More than likely they weren't just calling Buffalo. They likely had Dallas on the other line. Possibly Baltimore who has made deals with KC in the past.

So in essence, by refusing to trade with KC, we have no pick in the 3rd, a S/CB that everyone is mad about taking and someone else improved their own draft picks. And the Chiefs still get Worthy and likely at a slightly smaller price.

Don't get me wrong, I would have loved to see us take a WR in that spot...but let's see how today plays out. That pick at 95 can be moved way up just by using all those 5ths we have. Think I saw if they used all 4 5ths they had enough value to get to pick 77ish if they need to. I think by the end of the day we're going to be a lot more satisfied.

I'm still upset with losing out on both Xavier's in the trade downs. Those were my guys outside of Harrison, Nabers, Odunze, and BTJ.

That said, the 6th for 5th swap to go from 32 to 33 was a difference of *59* picks. It's much better value than it seemed at first.

AD Mitchell and Ladd McConkey still available. As are Cooper Dejean and Johnny Newton. All would have been good picks at 28. And now we have our 3rd back, will have 3 picks tomorrow instead of 2, and could move all over on Day 2 and 3.

As painful as it was to not land one of my favorite Top 6 WR's and walk away with nothing, I'm coming around to the plan. Or coping. One or the other.

I have a feeling some of those 5th rounders we have will be used to move up from pick 95 to earlier in that 3rd round if he sees a guy he likes.

Beane presser now. Says they never tried to move up. Ben Allbright says they did. Someone’s lying

Not necessarily. Beane made calls. I'm certain he made calls to gauge what certain spots would cost him should someone slip and he need to make a move. Either him personally or someone on the staff. Laying groundwork. He's talked about that in the past. Doesn't mean they were trying to move.

Teams would report to insiders that they got calls from Buffalo so other teams may worry and up their price. Insiders report what they have been told.

  7. It's a weird move but Atlanta likes to make a splash night 1 of the draft.

Honestly, not feeling bad for ol' Kirk. Guy has made a ton of money including $100M from Atlanta guaranteed. He gets that no matter what. Plus with the investment they made in him I'd say he's got 2 years in Atlanta. By that time he's 37 and likely at the end of the road anyway.

Not only that but he is 35 and coming off serious injury. No telling of he's going to be the same.

  8. Disappointed we didn't get that shiney new WR tonight. But we did go from 1 day 2 pick to having 3 day 2 picks. If Beane had run out of 1st round grades players then the move was to move down... especially if he has a clump of guys closely graded. I don't like it...but I get it.

And nothing is set in stone. Beane's got a golden ticket with pick 33. His phone will be ringing for a while tonight and early and often tomorrow. That 1st pick in round 2 historically gets moved often...so we may not be picking there either.

I mean, it depends. If Verse, Arnold, and Mitchell go before 28 and BTJ is there - I would argue that Newton and DeJean are the next best Defensive players and either on par or rated lower than BTJ.

I'm not convinced BTJ is as high on teams boards as he is on fan/mock drafters boards. Then throw in the issues surrounding him...I just don't see it
