Sirius xm NFL loves it. Just said he's gonna end up starting this year. 44 starts, big games.

Said that he switched two very different QBs and styles play that it was impressive that he could communicate, lead, and call plays with both is admirable.

This is why I like this idea. If he needs a year to get up to speed and learn we have the spot covered. McGovern can hold it down for a bit. If he ends up starting now, McGovern can slide back to LG and it improves both positions.

  2. Love this pick. Physical player. Starting to notice a trend these last 2 drafts yet? If he eventually starts...him next to Torrence will blow open some holes in the run game.

With the DT position being so deep with impact players these days this is exactly the type of OL that needs to be built. No more finesse. Strength up the middle bof the OL.

As I said in the discussion thread Ray Davis was my favorite RB in this draft. He is a complete 3 down back who can block in pass pro and has great hands out of the backfield with a strong compact body to run between the tackles. Yes he's older but that doesn't matter with RB's as most of them only get 1 contract anyways.

I think too with NIL in place we're going to see guys that are 23-24 coming out of the draft more often. We're seeing it a bit at an extreme right now as many of these kids come from the extra COVID eligibility as well.

I think it's a fair bet we see Buffalo take a RB at some point today. Lots of talent there left These are the guys I'd like to see one of taken by us:

    -Will Shipley, Clemson

    -Braelon Allen, Wisconsin

    -Audric Estime, Notre Dame

    -Ray Davis, Kentucky

    -Isaac Guerendo,  Louisville

    -Isaiah Davis, South Dakota State

    -Frank Gore Jr,  Southern Miss

Nice pick! I like Davis. A couple on this list I liked a bit more, personally but will be a good compliment to Cook.

Makes sense for Denver with Bo Nix

    is Courtland Sutton now available?

If Beane feels like going after a vet WR, I'd rather hang onto picks and not pay a huge contract to a guy that largely has a similar skillset to the guy we just drafted 33rd overall.

Maybe someone with speed, size and some experience like DJ Chark, who is a FA right now may bring something different to the room.

I think we may trade up in round 4.

The teams that are most likely to trade down are NYG at pick 7, Pittsburgh at pick 17 and Chicago at pick 22. I think these 3 teams would like to add some picks, especially Chicago.

I'm wondering if the Giants stick and pick a QB early today. Rattler still on the board.

    WR:

Tez Walker, Jacob Cowing, Javon Baker and maybe Franklin?

    OL:

Tannor Bortolini, I want his guy badly!  Beaux Limmer.

    Edge:

I like Austin Booker out of Kansas, the kid can flat play.

    RB:

Braelon Allen, Audric Estime, Jaylen Wright.

    CB:

MJ Davonshire Pitt, Kalen King PSU, Josh Newton TCU

    LB:

Tommy Eichenberg OSU, Curtis Jacobs PSU

    Safety:

    Malik Mustapha Wake forest

    DT:

Tyler Davis Clemson. We need a couple 1 tech guys, and he is solid.

I personally believe Devonshire has been earmarked to be a Bill for a while. A day 3 Pitt DB? No brainier there IMO. I expect a RB early on today as well. Estime was in on a visit I believe.

For all the whining and bellyaching about Coleman being our first pick (I was disappointed myself) it’s time to man up and admit that none of us are draft experts…some draft analysts had Franklin going late 1st, and many of us would’ve been happy taking him at 33.  For those in here who had Franklin going 4th round, where have we erred, and why were we so wrong?

Here's something else to remember. As we start round 4, Franklin is still on the board. We have a ton of 5th round picks. If Beane values Franklin as much as people here feel he should he has the picks to trade to go and get him. If he doesn't, it really says everything I need to know about their interest in Franklin.

Oh, and there are other WRs left on the board as well. Let's see how today plays out, who we end up with and what we end up with. Heck Shakir was a 5th rounder in a WR class that was much less thought of.

and 4.53 is “not running fast”

    4.61 is “running slow”

not everything below 4.4 is created equal and as you get into the 4.6 range and roll in not having a lot of separation on film it’s fair for people to have concerns.

    Concerns, sure.

Coleman isn't really going to be asked to run in a straight line on a track either. Guys often have a different play speed. But if we want to talk Combine numbers, during the cone drill he was listed at hitting 20.36mph...which was the fastest by any WR in 2 years at the Combine. I'd say that shows he's not exactly Jabba the Hutt running routes.

Right but I think there’s a real concern with “run slow” still

being good at contested catches is great. It being because you face 3 times as many because you are not just average but below average speed is a concern in itself. Even being good at contested catches is a lower percentage throw than going to a guy that actually got open

Weird. Because I could swear for literally years I've seen posts right here on this forum with people wanting to trade for Mike Williams. Big strong WR. He ran a 4.53, BTW. Not blazing, either.

Now, I'm a person that has screamed for speed myself for years. Get me someone even Allen would have an issue over throwing. So I get it. But I'm willing to, I don't know, let the kid see the practice field and maybe a game or two before I condemn the choice because he doesn't have the skillset I wanted...which is what I see a lot of people doing here.
