8 picks away. If they remain on the board I'd be ok with Kanara or Isaac there.

3 straight Wolverines go and Rich Eisen may need a change of pants.

If the Bills passed on Coleman are you certain he would not still be on the board at 71?
Yeah. I'm quite comfortable with the idea that he wouldn't have been there at 71 most likely. Certain? No, I don't have access to all the draft boards. But pretty comfortable with the thought

Look at the 2 - 230 minute mark. That is not normal for a guy that is 6"4. It's abnormal athletic ability to have that body control and start and stop at that size.
Watching this it occurred to me what it is that he can do that we don't see from our guys now. He fights back for underthrown balls. Not only does he seem to be good at getting his hands on the ball (I realize these are just highlights) but this style of play tends to lead to getting those DPI calls when he can't come up with it too.

So Rapp and Edwards fight for the other saftey spot in training camp?
Wondering if there will be times we see a three safety look as well. He can play that same kind of role Poyer did when they would drop him down and brought Rapp in deep with Hyde. Very versatile like that.

Pretty surprised he's still on the board. Though it makes me a bit happy we didn't burn pick 33 on a guy that's still there at 71 like so many wanted to.

My guess Cole Bishop will be the Bills pick
Him or Franklin for me would be fine.

Ahahaha trading up for a RB. The Panthers really will never be good again.
And a RB coming off an ACL injury no less.

Looking like there could be some really good value in positions of need for us at 60. Loving how the 2nd round is falling so far.

Not the guy I wanted. Was hoping for some real speed. Ah well, let's see how the rest of the night plays out. Roman Wilson to match up with him, perhaps? Polk? I'll wait to see how tonight plays out.

Can they put the Bills on the clock and THEN let Roger do his drunken rambling crap? Jesus they milk this way too much.

By the end of the night I think we come away with 2 of: Franklin, Wilson and Polk. And for the 3rd pick tonight I think we get a safety. What order we get them in and where is the question for me.

He already snuck back into the 3rd round, upgrading #133 to #95 through KC.
Trade Down is still a good option, depending on the premium extracted.
Honestly, I'm kind of of the thought that I'm ok with Beane even taking 2025 picks then later round 2024 picks if he trades again. We have a ton of ammo now to move around. Let's set the table for next year, too.

I think once the Bills are serious about negotiations, they make it a condition that nothing is to be leaked until the deal is done.
But I agree (and Beane has said) that a lot of times when the Bills interest is reported, it's as simple as a due diligence phone call.
It's a benefit/perk to being a good team. Agents use your team as someone interested hoping other GMs say "Wait if Buffalo is in, should we be as well?". We do the exact same thing whenever we hear the Chiefs name in on someone. "Well, if Andy thinks that LG is good then that's good enough for me."

This thread should be a lot of fun. What's the o/u on the number of posts until someone makes a comment on kids getting participation trophies? What about "pretty soon, it'll be flag football?" How about "they might as well be playing in pantyhose?"
Welp, you would just have become the first to bring up all those topics for people to piggy back off of. Way to set the table😂
Seriously, I get it and it's really good for the players and safety. Could help some guys have longer careers, earn more money and walk away a bit healthier. But egads are those things fugly.

I presume those that wanted to drink their Hemlock have done so by now and those on a ledge have either stepped off or backed off the ledge. To those fans who didn't commit Seppuku last night, lets talk about where to go from here. YES giving KC who they wanted sucks, but Beane was smart enough to take a 3rd round pick from them on their path to getting him. Moving up picks for a one slot drop with Carolina was smart as well.
Folks are screaming about 3 WR off the board they wanted, and I get it, but the reality is Worthy wasn't that great at Texas, his claim to fame is his 40 time at the combine. I see him getting some TD's but he is NOT Hill, period. Legette? Big boy, tests well, and only took 5 years to put up a really good season. I am not worried about either coming back to haunt us.
So where do we go from here? #33 has always been regarded as a highly valued pick. 1st pick of the 2nd round and you get almost 24 hours to reassemble your board after everyone has drafted. Do we pick at 33 or trade down, well it depends. I would normally trade that sucker and stockpile picks, BUT there is most certainly going to be a run on WR's to start the 2nd round. The Bills, I feel, were going to take Troy Franklin all along or maybe McConkey. Franklin nor McConkey are going to last long. Some are talking Safety with Cooper DeJean. The problem is you just don't take a Safety that high. What we need are impact players right now and WR greatly outweighs Safety. DT is another way we could go.
Personally I don't know if I trade down from 33, but if we did I don't go below Washington and pray no one else wants Franklin like we do. I don't get cute and take the WR I want at 33, try to use some of our 5th rounders to trade up in round 2 and round 3 if possible. WR, DT, CB, S are my targets for the rest of this draft. Unless... SF wants to let us take Aiyuk off their hands or Seattle wants to let us have DK Metcalf.
I agree with a lot of what you say here. However, about the bolded. If they have a guy that stands out and is "their guy" then yes, agree, don't get cute and pick your player
However do they have a group of guys lumped together? Are they looking at it as "Well, we can Grab DeJean, Newton, Franklin, Roman Wilson, Ladd, or a few others that are all about the same grade and be happy"? If so, another small trade back makes the world of sense. We'll know which they have in a few hours.

The key thing lots people forgetting that the Bills don't leak out much.
This is true. However if the Bills have had contact with the 49ers either they or Deebo's reps may put it out there to stir interest. And being it mentions 2 teams it's likely agent or the 49ers.
That said, even in cases like this, the "interest" could be something as simple as the Bills having a casual call with someone on the 49ers staff and asking what they are looking for....which is very common.

As I've said a dozen time my #1 preferred outcome was trading out of the 1st to recoup a 3rd, then double dipping at WR in the 2nd round. We are on track to do exactly that. So I find myself one of the only Bills fans that is not just okay with what we did but elated. I just can't bring myself to care about the Chiefs getting Worthy when I'm very confident they would have gotten him one way or another if he was their guy.
Agree that may well be what we do. The fact of Cooper DeJean still being there is a real threat to that plan, however IMO.
I don't know if I see Beane punting on WRs in round 1 to take 2 in round 2. Could just as easily see him going: DeJean -> Franklin/Wilson -> mid level FA vet (A DJ Chark level) in the next few days.

If Franklin is the guy they should just take him with 33. No need to get too cute and risk NE taking him. NE just drafted a potential franchise QB and they have no receivers, after all.
I agree with that...unless they have Franklin and Wilson or possibly McConkey grades close enough that it doesn't matter to them which they get. Then I can see another small drop back maybe to Washington's spot.
And that's if they pick a WR early tonight at all. As long as DeJean is there when the Bills pick it's a worry.
-
Yeah, Franklin was always in play. People did as they often do and talked themselves into many others due to personal preference and the latest gossip.
They did some work on Roman Wilson as well FWIW. He may be the fallback option or the second of a double dip.

Looking at who 49ers picked doesn't feel like KC needed to trade to get him, or are Worthy and Persall more similar than they seem to me?
Never know. Pearsall may have been the "panic pick" people like to say happens. I'm wondering if they were targeting Worthy and that's why KC felt they had to jump up to get him.

Gabe Davis also didn't fight for contested catches. He didn't fight for the football. That's part of the reason Allen's INT rate when targeting Davis was so much higher than everyone else on the team. It's almost like there's more to the WR position than "run fast".
